Ryan Lochte has changed his story once again. For the better this time, however. Back on August 14, Lochte told the public that he and three U.S. Olympic teammates were robbed at gunpoint in Rio. But authorities investigated the alleged incident and could no evidence of such an armed robbery, leading to the eventual admission by Lochte's teammates that they actually caused quite a drunken raucous at a gas station. They vandalized the property, security guards confronted them about it and at least one of these guards did draw a weapon, ordering the group to pay for the damage. After it became clear that Lochte had fudged the truth lied, he issued a half-hearted apology that did not go over very well at all. So Saturday evening, in a sit-down with Matt Lauer, Lochte tried again. I'm taking full responsibility for it because I overexaggerated that story and if I never did that, we wouldn't be in this mess,” he shared. “Those guys would never be in Rio. None of this would have happened. It was my immature behavior.” The 12-time medal winner said he “definitely had too much to drink that night,” saying he’s unable to say whether he was robbed or extorted. “All I know is there was a gun pointed at us, and we were demanded to give money,” he said. Lochte left Brazil the day after the incident, but his teammates remained. They actually got pulled off a plane and had their passports confiscated until they spoke to authorities and told them the truth. “I let my team down,” Lochte said through tears to Lauer. “I don’t want them to think that I left them dry. I took away from their accomplishments by being immature for one night. That’s what hurts the most.” Six more minutes of Lauer's interview with Locthe will air on Monday. For now, though, Locthe seems to understand the mess he caused. “I’m embarrassed for myself… I know what I did was wrong,” he said. “All I can do now is better myself in making sure this stuff never happens again. “I don’t want them to look at me like a drunk frat boy. I definitely want to be a role model for those young kids.” WATCH SNIPPETS OF THE INTERVIEW HERE:
Bad-Azz! NBCOLYMPICS : Michelle Carter saved her best for last, claiming the gold medal and breaking the American record on her final throw. New Zealand’s Valerie Adams seemed poised to become the first woman to win three consecutive Olympic shot put gold medals before Carter’s final attempt. Adams’ best throw, 20.42m (67 feet), had her in first place by .55m (1 foot, 9 3/4 inches). Then Carter stepped into the circle and threw 20.63m (67-8.25) to earn the title. “It’s tough, but it’s sport,” Adams said to the Associated Press. “Sometimes you take one on the chin.” Carter, a certified professional makeup artist who is nicknamed the “Shot Diva,” is the first U.S. Olympic women’s shot put gold medalist. She became the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in the event since 1960, when Earlene Brown claimed bronze. Carter’s father, Michael was the 1984 Olympic shot put silver medalist. He also won three Super Bowl rings as a football player with the San Francisco 49ers. Adams’ brother, Steven Adams, is a seven-foot center for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Valerie, who is 6-foot-4, still refers to him as “lil bro.”
Teen Mom 2’s Jeremy Calvert is getting hitched – at least according to a not so cryptic tweet he posted about girlfriend Brooke Wehr. We’ve heard this rumor before, but what’s different now? Leah Messer’s second ex-husband and the father of her third daughter recently uploaded a selfie of his lady with a hashtag saying this: “This beautiful, amazing woman has stole my heart. I love her you so so much baby doll, 2 more weeks and I damn sure can’t wait @bwehr10” “#wcw #myone&only #shesamazing #gonnaputaringonit” Gonna put a ring on it. Not being too subtle there, is he? As for the fact that he’s going to see her in two weeks? It’s not clear why – other than Brooke Wehr living in Ohio and Jeremy in West Virginia – but one wonders if that’s when a proposal will happen. This isn’t the first time that Jeremy hinted that he was ready to settle down with Brooke, his better half ever since he and Leah divorced. Just a few months ago reports of Jeremy Calvert and Brooke Wehr engaged – and expecting a child – surfaced thanks to his Instagram … The pregnancy part wasn’t true. But the engagement? First, he posted the photo above, publicly communicating with her, along with a caption reading, “Babe I say honeymoon right here!!!!!” Clearly, that could just be a case of a boyfriend saying he’d love to take his girlfriend away on a trip, or thinking about long-term goals. Still, many fans took it as an indication that the couple is planning a wedding, and Calvert has never really refuted any of that chatter. What’s more, they’ve dated for more than a year – an eternity in fast-moving MTV land, as you know if you watch Teen Mom 2 online . Leah Messer has criticized her ex for spending so much time with Brooke over that span and not enough with their daughter, Adalynn. Leah Messer SLAMS Jeremy Calvert: He’s Choosing Brooke’s Daughter Over Addie! Leah Messer Goes OFF on Jeremy Calvert, Brooke Wehr on Teen Mom 2 Finale While we’re not commenting on what Jeremy should or should not do with his time, it’s clear he’s committed to – and in love with – Wehr. Every post about her is over-the-top with praise, and the kind that seems genuine, as well, not just a reality star trying too hard for attention. Brooke, it’s worth noting, is also a single parent like Leah and Jeremy. So you can be sure this saga is going to get even more complicated. In any case … early congrats?! WARNING: The following video may be upsetting for some viewers. The Rio Olympics for French gymnast Samir Ait Said ended in brutal fashion as he suffered a broken leg during a vault landing Saturday. His injury during qualifications was so bad, it caused fans and teammates alike to wince, look away and bury their heads in their hands. French gymnastics officials tweeted later that the athlete had fractured his tibia and fibula and would have surgery as soon as possible. Said landed awkwardly after doing two backward flips off the vault. According to USA Today, it was obvious what went wrong, as the leg made a sharp crack that could be heard throughout the venue. As Said grabbed around his knee and looked up at his left leg, he saw it flop unnaturally to the side, as he covered his face with his hands. He was silent, perhaps in too much shock to react otherwise. The athlete was taken off on a stretcher, giving a wave to the stunned crowd as he was carried away to receive medial treatment. Said thanked fans for their support following the event and vowed that he would be back to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. French team leader Corrine Moustard-Callon told reporters: “It is very difficult for the team. He was one of the friendliest on the team which is very difficult … he came to win a medal and gave everything 200 percent.” Incredibly, this is not Said's first major injury after a vault. He missed the 2012 Olympics because he fractured his right leg in three places at the European Championships, according to reports. We wish him nothing but the best in his recovery. Here's the footage of his injury:

Hillary Clinton became the first woman to ever accept a major party's nomination for President of the United States on Thursday night. It was a big deal. And, today, yet many people on the Internet are talking about someone they had never heard of prior to the Democratic National Convention, as opposed to this Presidential hopeful. Did you catch the speech of Khizr Khan? Khan's son, Humayun, was a captain in the U.S. Army. When a vehicle packed with explosives approached his compound in Iraq in 2004, he told his men to take cover as he ran toward it. It exploded and killed Khan on the spot, earning him a posthumous Bronze Star. Fast forward 12 years later and Khizr Khan and his wife taking the stage in Philadelphia. During a moving speech toward the end of the DNC, Khan paid tribute to his child; gave credit to Hillary Clinton; and offered a stark, brave repudiation of Donald Trump. “We are honored to stand here as the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, and as patriotic American Muslims with undivided loyalty to our country,” Khizr Khan said to a standing ovation. He spoke of his son's dreams of becoming a military attorney and how Clinton had referred to his son as “the best of America.” And then he went after Trump. “If it was up to Donald Trump, [Humayun] never would have been in America,” Khan said. “Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, even his own party leadership. He vows to build walls and ban us from this country.” He continued: “Donald Trum, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future. Let me ask you: Have you even read the U.S. Constitution? I will gladly lend you my copy.” With those words, he pulled a copy of the Constitution from his pocket. “In this document, look for the words 'liberty' and 'equal protection of law,'” he said, once again to a raucous ovation. Earlier this month, Trump promised congressional Republicans that he would defend “Article XII” of the Constitution. There is no such Article. “Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery?” Khan said. “Go look at the graves of the brave patriots who died defending America — you will see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing. And no one.” Pretty powerful stuff. Watch the full speech below:
