As Black Twitter vacillated on their feelings about his fashion choices, Thugger said it shouldn’t surprise anyone. His decision to wear the dress was, apparently, one of divine intervention but he’s been wearing girl’s/women’s clothing for a really long time. He discusses how his father used to discipline him for his fashion choices but he continues to wear what he wants because he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. via AllHipHop Young Thug has finally opened up about the controversy he recently caused by donning an extravagant gown on the cover of his latest mixtape release, No My Name Is Jeffrey . His statements are likely to turn more heads. “When I seen that dress, I felt like God gave it to me.” Thugger said when reflecting on the first time he laid eyes on the threads. In the artist’s interview with Billboard , he also gave a little insight as to the origin of his gender bender choices of fashion. “When I was 12, my feet were so small I wore my sisters’ glitter shoes,” he explained. The rapper then continued, “My dad would whoop me: ‘You’re not going to school now, you’ll embarrass us!’ But I never gave a f— what people think.” Thugger came close to breaking the internet when the cover of his project was released, as fans went into a frenzy, cooking up hilarious memes, while his Hip-Hop peers chastised his actions. Despite all of the backlash, Young Thug still managed to land in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts for the second time with the August 26 release. Thug is going to continue to do and wear what he wants and the sooner people let that go, the better off they will be.
Community Colleges Are Reaching Out To Those In Need Last week, ITT Tech presumably ruined the lives of thousands of its students when they permanently closed the doors of every single campus in the country. ITT Tech’s credits tend not to transfer to other institutions , effectively costing both time and money of their student population. There might be some reprieve however, as community colleges are reaching out to Tech students to help them continue their educational pursuits. via AL.com Community colleges across Alabama are reaching out to former ITT Tech students after the institute’s sudden closure last week. Calhoun Community College will host an information session and open house on September 15 from 4-6 p.m. for students to meet with instructors and representatives from the school’s various programs. There will also be financial aid advisers and counselors available for more information about enrollment. “Our team has met for the last few days in an effort to develop a comprehensive plan as we work with those ITT students who decide to make Calhoun their choice in continuing their higher education goals,” Calhoun President Dr. James Klauber said. The event will be at Calhoun’s Decatur Campus in the Aerospace Training Center. Those interested can call Caroline Canestrari at 256-306-276 for more information or go to calhoun.edu. The school announced that it is shutting its doors today after being investigated by multiple agencies and after the U.S. Dept. of Education said it would stop federal loans for the school’s students. Another school, Athens State University, said on its website that the school is “committed to assisting students wishing to transfer to Athens State to complete their education.” “As a regionally accredited, state-supported University, we are constrained by guidelines that sometimes limit our ability to transfer all credits from all institutions. Nonetheless, given the hardship that the ITT closing has placed on so many students in Alabama and across the country, we welcome the opportunity to review transcripts and course descriptions on request for any possible transfer of credit to our programs,” the school said. Former ITT Tech students have not been notified if their credits from the school will be transferable. Students interested in speaking with an Athens State counselor can call 256-233-8100 or go to athens.edu for more information. According to WALA and WHNT , other schools helping ITT Tech students include the Alabama Aviation Center at the Brookley Field campus in Mobile, J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College in Huntsville, and Oakwood University in Huntsville. This is definitely an awesome move and all the colleges involved should be commended for providing a helping hand at this time.

Drake Might Be Prepping Something Classy For The Texas Folk After releasing the “ Child’s Play” video earlier today, Drake has even more in store for his fans. The Canadian emcee posted a new photo on Instagram to publicize an event going down on Labor Day. The event, titled “Drake Presents: A New Dance Experience,” is scheduled for September 5th from 1opm to 2am. The caption reads: “HOUSTON TEXAS…On September 5th we are giving you a chance to experience something that’s here to stay…THE BALLET…10pm -.” via XXL These days it feels like Drake spends as much time touring as he does posting cryptic messages for fans. The latest entry into the Toronto rapper’s series of mysteries is a poster describing an event set to take place in Houston on Monday (Sept. 5). The first line on the poster reads, “DRAKE PRESENTS A NEW DANCE EXPERIENCE … The Ballet.” Under those words are the date and time for the mysterious event. The caption for Drizzy’s latest Instagram post reads, “HOUSTON TEXAS … On September 5th we are give you a chance to experience something that’s here to stay … THE BALLET … 10 pm.” At this point, it’s safe to say Drake is up to something, or some things. “The Ballet” could be anything from a new video to a song premiere. Whatever this poster is about, we’ll most likely see for ourselves when Monday arrives. Drizzy’s new Instagram post comes just a few days after his latest billboard. This one features an image of his father and a reference to his new whiskey brand, Virginia Black. The “Know Yourself” rapper hasn’t explained any of his billboards, but we think it’s somewhat safe to conclude his newest one is a sort of advertisement. What we’re still really interested in getting to the bottom of is the one featuring the G.O.O.D. Music logo and the OVO owl. About a week ago, a billboard bearing the words “calabasas is the new abu dhabi,” appeared, and plenty of people think it’s a sign that a Drizzy-Kanye West album is coming soon. Of course, Kanye teased a joint project at the OVO rapper’s OVO Fest back in July. “Toronto I got one question for you. Is y’all ready for this album?” Yeezy said to the crowd while motioning toward himself and Drizzy. “I’m not talking about Pablo. I wasn’t talking about Views. I wanna ask y’all right now, are y’all ready for this album?” The mysterious event leaves just enough room for fun and interpretation. Chris Brown has been released from prison. But his latest legal ordeal is only just beginning. As previously reported, Chris Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on Tuesday night. He has been charged with a felony. We’ll get to the details of the case against him in a moment, but the most immediate update on this controversial artist is that he’s been released on $250,000 bail. It was posted at 11:19 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Los Angeles Sheriff Department inmate records, with Brown’s attorney Tweeting to fans around 2 a.m. “Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes,” Mark Geragos wrote, adding: “Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy.” We’re not sure if a lawyer should really be hashtagging “TeamBreezy” if he wants to be taken seriously, but then again.. … we’re not sure about a whole lot when it comes to Chris Brown. The 27-year-old artist was taken into custody last night after a nearly 14-hour standoff at his Tarzana, California home. It started after a woman named Baylee Curran claimed she and a friend stopped by Brown’s house just to hang out. In subsequent interviews, Curran says Brown was acting strange all night, culminating in him pulling a gun on her after she took a close look at an expensive piece of jewelry that was being held by a member of Brown’s entourage. Speaking to Extra (below), Curran describes the events as follows: “Chris came in, pulled out his gun and said, ‘I’m getting so sick of you people,’ pointed the gun at me, (and told me) to get the f—- out of the house.” Baylee Curran on Chris Brown: He Knows What He Did! She has since told several media outlets that she feared for her life, adding to E! News of the diamond piece in question: “I did not pick it up, I did not touch it, take it or grab it, anything to that sort.” Curran fled from the premises and called the cops. While they were in his driveway, the singer unleashed a tirade of profanity on Instagram, filming three separate videos that cursed off the police and proclaimed his innocence. “You’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing,” he said in one message after verbally attacking the cops for making him out to be a villain. Eventually, of course, the cops obtained a search warrant and they DID go and get Brown. A little after 5 p.m. PST, they took the singer into custody. We don’t know at the moment exactly what evidence they found at the scene, but one has to assume they came across at least one gun. Earlier in the night, Brown had entertained such guests as Ray J. An initial report claimed the former Kim Kardashian sex tape partner was actually getting a tattoo inside of Brown’s home before the chaos ensued and he got the heck out of there. According to TMZ, Ray J was actually handcuffed by police and had his BMW confiscated while they tried to figure out what the heck was going on. More details will likely come out in the near future about Curran, about this weird night in question and about Chris Brown’s role in it. But if you’re asking us whether we give Brown the benefit of any doubt or if he’s earned out trust in any way, shape or form, then we can only respond with a question of our own: Are you insane? This guy is a violent agitator who thinks he’s above the law.
