To wit, the penultimate film in the series, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” has grossed more than $600 million worldwide since its November release and even set a new record by becoming the first installment to top the box office three weekends in a row . And it also landed at #2 on MTV News’ Top Newsmakers of 2011 list, falling short only to Lady Gaga. It’d be tempting to chalk up this particular installment’s massive appeal to one little (though very loaded) word: sex. As any avowed Twilighter will tell you, “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” marks the first time Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) do it, a titillating plot point that Summit Entertainment’s marketing department took full advantage of. In fact, the very first promotional image for the flick, released in late 2010, was a close-cropped photo of Bella clutching a fistful of rogue feathers that had escaped a pillow during the couple’s first romp. Then there was that much-talked-about publicity still released in January, showing a moodily lit Bella and Edward in flagrante. Perhaps the folks in this guy’s family need to hit up A&E’s Intervention: A Norfolk man turned up drunk for his sentencing in Madison County district court here, registering a blood-alcohol content of four times the legal limit. Daniel E. Harris, 46, was wheeled into the courtroom in a special chair with soft restraints around his hands and feet that resembled seatbelts. He was unconscious but breathing at that time. Kube said Harris had slipped and fallen in the courthouse parking lot. The Madison County sheriff’s office was able to administer a preliminary breath test before he passed out. The breathalyzer level indicated was .323. Legal intoxication is .08. Madison County sheriff’s office deputies were monitoring Harris closely during the short time he was in the courtroom. Judge James Kube ordered Harris be transported by ambulance to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk so he could be medically evaluated. A Madison County sheriff’s office deputy was to escort him there. In the event that Harris wasn’t taken into emergency protective custody, his bond was revoked and he would then be detained at the Madison County jail. Kube ordered Harris’ sentencing on his conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol (.15 grams or more)-third offense be continued until Monday. In that case, officers had pulled him over for a stop sign violation and noticed Harris’ slurred speech and hazy eyes. According to the police report, Harris was having a tough time standing up and walking. His blood-alcohol content tested at that time reached .315. My name is Aisha, I’m from Virginia! Sunday December 11th was a crazy day. Two of my friends, my sister and I planned a buyout in Washington DC without knowing that Justin Bieber would be in DC that same day. Justin announced about a week later that he was coming to Christmas in Washington the SAME day as the buyout, which was about 5 minutes away from the Barnes and noble we held the buyout. The buyout was insane! We had about 90-100 girls show up, we collected about 5-6 boxes of canned goods to donate to the local food bank. We also got about 50 donations of Under The Mistletoe CD’s for the Children’s Hospital. After about an hour my friend ran into Scooter on her way to the buyout, and he said he was on his way there! It was pretty unreal that Scooter came to the buyout, we didn’t expect it all. He took pictures with EVERYONE, then left. He thanked me and friends for everything we did and was being so sweet! After the buyout, we really wanted to meet Justin so we headed to his hotel, but then realized he left. We tried to beat him to the museum but ended up missing him by 5 minutes. Hours past and everyone left the city, it was only my twin sister and I left with 2 other girls we met. We decided to wait until the event was over. It was like -10 degrees. My body was slowly dieing. Since the President was inside, the blocked off every single road surrounding the building, so we had to wait across the street. After about an hour and a half, the President finally left, so we went inside the parking lot, and prayed that Justin was coming out that way. I spotted Legaci, my sister and I took pictures with them. Then we saw Scrappy! We also took pictures with him. We met The Band Perry, Cee lo Green, Conan O’Brien, and Jennifer Hudson. Finally after waiting for like 30 more minutes Justin comes out with his whole crew . There was only about 8 people there at the most. We were just patiently waiting there then Scooter came over and saw my sister and I (he remembered us cause we were the leaders of the buyout.) He called Justin over and told him that we organized the buyout and Justin had the biggest smile on his face, he was like “Thank you so much, that means the world to me.” I was really calm, and I was like no problem! He was like “Let’s get a picture!” While we were about to take the picture he pointed to his suit, and was like “Do I look like double o’ seven” I laughed and was like yeaah, you look cute! He was like thanks! We took the picture and then this paparazzi guy was trying to get Justin’s attention and he was like, “WAIT, I need to get pictures with my fans first” He took pictures with all the girls, and signed autographs.
