New ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2’ Trailer Debuts

Latest trailer is both action-packed and full of emotion. By Kara Warner “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. Wowza. Wow. Wowza. That is our instant reaction to the latest trailer for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” which just hit the Interwebs Thursday (June 16). Man oh man, is it a doozy. Even for those of us who’ve read the books over and over again and are fully prepared for what’s going to unfold when the film hits theaters on July 17, this latest trailer is so action-packed, so full of intensity and emotion, it’s almost too much to handle. Almost. The trailer opens with a distraught Lily Potter (Harry’s mom) speaking to her infant son. “Harry, be safe,” she says in a strained whisper. “Be strong.” Cut to the words “Every moment he’s lived has led to this,” before an eerie voiceover by evil Dark Lord Voldemort comes in over flashback scenes of key moments in several of the previous seven films. “Harry Potter, you have fought valiantly,” Voldemort sneers. “Now join me, and confront your fate.” From here on out, much like the action in the second half of J.K. Rowling’s seventh Potter book, things get very intense. There are flashes of Voldemort in several states of mind and presence, all of them ferocious and teeming with dark force. “You’ve kept him alive so he can die at the proper moment,” Snape says to him at one point. Cut to Harry, Ron and Hermione riding a dragon, continuing their dangerous quest for the final horcruxes that will help bring an end to the Dark Lord. This is followed by the beginning shots, or so it seems, of the epic battle royale at Hogwarts. Death eaters are surrounding the school, and Professor McGonagall orders the magical protectors of the school to come to life and protect them. What looks like the Dark Lord’s army is shown assembled outside the gates, ready to attack, while our favorite Potter protagonists are shown waiting anxiously inside the school. Suddenly the final battle is in full swing, wands slinging, wizards clashing, all of which can be very briefly summarized by these words: death and destruction. In the midst of all the madness, there are emotional moments that seem to show favorite characters preparing to meet certain death. One poignant moment occurs in a brief exchange between Harry and Snape, a character who has always mysteriously walked the line between good and evil. “Tell them how it happened that night,” Harry says angrily to Snape, before a flashback of Dumbledore’s death appears onscreen. “How you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you, and killed him!” There is also a brief moment where Harry is surrounded by the ghostly presences of his loved ones, people like his mother and godfather Sirius Black. “You’ll stay with me?” Harry asks his illusory supporters. “Always,” answers his mother. “Until the end,” Black adds. The remaining seconds are all about action, action, action — specifically, the fight between Harry and Voldemort. “Come on, Tom, let’s finish this the way we started,” Harry says to Voldemort as they stand on the precipice of a cliff. “Together!” This is followed by more quick cuts of wand-wielding and explosions. And then Voldemort and Harry are shown battling once more, this time crawling towards one wand. “Only I can live forever,” Voldemort says with finality. Bonnaroo 2011: Eminem, Lil Wayne, Mumford & Sons Steal The Show

Arcade Fire, Florence and the Machine also earn high marks from fans in the fest’s 10 year. By James Montgomery Eminem at Bonnaroo 2011 Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ Getty Images MANCHESTER, Tennessee — In the end, it wasn’t so much the heat as it was … OK, it was pretty much the heat. But the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is now in the books, having come to a close Sunday night with an evening full of nods to its noodle-y roots: a fest-capping performance from Widespread Panic, the semi-annual Superjam set, the instrumental grandeur of Explosions in the Sky and, uh, the Strokes, who occasionally play songs longer than four minutes. As the crowds began to file out of the dusty 700-acre farm that the fest has called home for 10 years now, the question was: Who managed to steal the show? Of the 120-something acts on the Bonnaroo bill this year, which was the best? The buzz from those exiting through the gates might surprise you. Because, sure, we heard plenty of praise for the bands that fell within the traditional parameters of Bonnaroo — the String Cheese Incident’s late-night performance on Saturday (complete with an inflatable dinosaur that descended on the crowd) earned high praise; as did Gogol Bordello’s marathon set that same night; the walloping, womb-like low-end of Bassnectar; STS9’s hippie trance; Dr. John’s re-telling of his Desitively Bonnaroo album (with the Original Meters and Alain Toussaint in tow) and My Morning Jacket’s darn-near-yearly jaw-dropping run. But there were also more than a few mentions of the nontraditional acts, namely, headliners Lil Wayne and Eminem . But somewhat fittingly, it was the artists who managed to bridge the gap between those two camps who seemingly won. Folks went gaga for Mumford & Sons’ sunset gig , a de facto victory lap for the current kings of “new-grass” (or whatever you want to call it), that included crowd-rousing versions of hits like “The Cave” and “Little Lion Man” and a sweat-drenched take on “Amazing Grace,” aided by the Old Crow Medicine Show. High marks were also given to the Black Keys’ rattling, rocking Saturday night show and the Arcade Fire’s hard-working headliner on Friday night, too. All of that is appropriate because, after putting the finishing touches on it’s 10th year, Bonnaroo finds itself in a rather interesting position. Over the past few years, organizers have slowly inched hip-hop onto the mainstage, with mixed results ( Kanye West’s late-starting debacle in 2008, Jay-Z’s well-received turn in ’10. But in 2011, they placed two of the genre’s biggest acts in night-capping slots, and the gamble paid off. And while the Sunday-evening sets — and, really, most of the day, too — seem reserved for jammier bands, one has to wonder if, in 2012, the balance might shift even further away from the fest’s crunchier past. Could more hip-hop be headed to the big stages (like Wiz Khalifa’s Saturday-evening set on the massive What Stage this year)? And, if that’s the case, will the fans turn out in droves like they did this year? Or maybe, they’ll decide to play it safe and book more bands that tend to unite the festival’s seemingly ever-growing, diverse fanbase: acts like Portugal. The Man, Robyn, Florence and the Machine and Beirut, all of whom also shined at this year’s event. The future, it seems, is anybody’s guess. But even for a festival whose future might be cloudy, the present is sweet indeed. Bonnaroo 2011 was a sold-out success, a rollicking four days of great music and life-affirming (and genuinely shocking) positivity. Throughout the weekend, though there are questions about where things go from here, the same time-tested truths also were readily on display. Kids had the time of their lives; they got shirtless and sweaty and probably did some things they might regret one day. The bands had a blast, playing long and hard and with a genuine sense of purpose. And, of course, people complained about the heat. They’re the things that will never change, and they make Bonnaroo great, year after year. No matter who’s playing. This is not a meet and greet experience, this is a NEVER SAY…

This is not a meet and greet experience, this is a NEVER SAY NEVER experience. It was the day of the Never Say Never premiere in the UK and my sister, her friend and I were ready on our journey to see our idol when my mom said, “You ready for this?” We looked at each other smiled and screamed YES! We made our way to the Q and we sat down for hours and hours. Everyone was singing Justin’s songs and we joined in. A private jet flew over the arena and I got extremely excited. It looked like Justin’s private jet, I noticed and pointed thinking if that was Justin, maybe he had seen me. We walked near the arena by the gates and found a space right at the front. We waited for roughly 3 hours, they played all of Justin’s songs and all of a sudden the big screen came on and a big black van pulled up and Justin Bieber came out the car with Kenny! My heart stopped beating and already tears were exiting my eyes. We watched Kenny walking side by side with Justin who was tweeting or something. The arena was rumbling and Justin made his was into the arena. As he was being interviewed, he turned his face and blew a kiss. Before I knew it, Justin was making his way around to see and us and thank us. He was coming towards me and I stopped crying.  I handed him my book and to my suprise he autographed it for me, then he looked at me and smiled. I was just staring at him for what felt like minutes. My sister didn’t get his autograph and was upset with me. Justin made his way to Cineworld where he would watch his movie. I noticed that Scooter was heading towards me and I asked to take a photo with him, he took  my camera and had taken 2 photos. Everyone started to make their way of the arena arena and I was extremely happy that he had noticed me. As we were leaving, someone tapped my sister on her shoulder. We turned around and a women was standing there. She said, “Who are you with?”, so my sister had told her. We noticed she put her hand in her pocket and pulled out Never Say Never tickets to go and watch his movie! My jaw dropped and she said, “but you have to have an adult with you”. This was the best day of my life.  All of a sudden, Jon M Chu walked in, followed by Scooter. They both said their speech and said thank you for making this possible and a voice said NEVER SAY NEVER. I reconized that voice and started to cry, it was Justin’s. He walked into the cinema and he was talking to us all for about 5 minutes. He thanked us all for coming and I was jumping up and down. My mum wasn’t a fan of Justin and after watching his movie, she loves him and has so much respect for him. This is a memory that would last a life time and someday it ill be a story to tell my kids. Ultra Music Festival: An Exclusive Tour Of The Grounds

2011 UMF will ‘be like nothing that anyone has ever seen before,’ festival president Russell Faibisch says. By Adam Stewart Photo: MTV News To the estimated 150,000 fans who will be passing through the gates of the most anticipated dance festival in the U.S., the building anticipation for the Ultra Music Festival is sort of like that of a child’s on Christmas Eve. Starting Friday night and running through Sunday, the Ultra Music Festival will be taking Miami by storm. As crews put the finishing touches on a behemoth two-week-long build, a camera-shy Russell Faibisch, president and executive producer of UMF, was gracious enough to give MTV News a tour of the festival grounds. “Ultra Music Festival 2011 is something that’s going to be like nothing that anyone has ever seen before, on any level,” Faibisch said. “The production is unlike any other festival. The caliber of lineup is second to none. Everyone who walks away from here will be trying to figure out what just happened!” The now three-day event will again be held in downtown Miami’s Bicentennial Park, which for this year will be arranged slightly differently than in years past due to a construction project that’s going on in its traditional footprint. “While we lost one corner to construction, we cleared out a lot of space on the other side of the park that wasn’t usable before,” Faibisch said. “When you add it all up, it about evens out, and the layout is actually much more functional for us this year.” Said shuffle has given birth to the insanely impressive Carl Cox and Friends arena, which will be home base for the man of the same name on Friday and Saturday. The arena will then be handed over to Dutch trance legend Armin Van Buuren, who will be broadcasting his “A State of Trance 500” show live via satellite to a worldwide audience estimated at 20 million. “We’re really proud of this thing. We brought it out from California — we’ve never had it out here in Florida before,” Faibisch said of the arena, which boasts two floors and an estimated capacity of over 10,000 all on its own. “We have VIPs on the second level inside, and the production that’s going on there is really going to be out of this world.” Adjacent to the mega-arena, several high-tech “domes” garnish the grounds, including the Tower of Ultra, which will play host exclusively to Dubstep artists on Saturday and Sunday, all to a visual 3-D display that is sure to make Skrillex blush during his live set. But the granddaddy of them all is, of course, the Ultra Main Stage, and with this year’s immense superstructure graced by the presence of Ti

Lady Gaga Says ‘Born This Way’ Was ‘An Immaculate Conception’

Singer talks about new album and second single, ‘Judas,’ in March issue of Vogue. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga on the March cover of Vogue Photo: Mario Testino/Vogue Lady Gaga graces the March cover of Vogue in a baby pink wig, styled like late British fashion icon Isabella Blow, with her hands at her side and wearing a decidedly feminine Grecian gown. The accompanying article is an in-depth portrait of the pop star that also reveals some new details about her single, “Born This Way,” set for release on Friday. “I wrote [‘Born This Way’] in 10 f—ing minutes,” she explains in the article. “And it is a completely magical message song. And after I wrote it, the gates just opened, and the songs kept coming. It was like an immaculate conception.” Jonathan Van Meter, who wrote the article for the fashion magazine, heard the track and said that it “at first sounds suspiciously like a Madonna tune and then switches into something that feels a bit like a Bronski Beat hit and then finally transforms into its own thing: a Gaga original. Clearly an homage to the obscure underground disco record ‘I Was Born This Way’; it is an unbelievably great dance song, destined to be the anthem of every gay-pride event for the next 100 years.” In the chat, Gaga said that the album of the same name, out in May, will certainly be a Gaga record with something to say about life and her “little monsters.” “Because as an artist and as a performer, the person that they look up to to create this space of freedom and escapism, I want to give my fans nothing less than the greatest album of the decade,” she said. “I don’t want to give them something trendy. I want to give them the future.” Gaga also revealed the name of the album’s next single, “Judas,” which will blend pop and rock. “There’s a Bruce Springsteen vibe, there’s a Guns N’ Roses moment. It’s the anthemic nature of the melodies and the choruses,” she said. “It is much more vocally up to par with what I’ve always been capable of. It’s more electronic, but I have married a very theatrical vocal to it. It’s like a giant musical-opus theater piece.” Related Artists Lady Gaga

GLOBAL POLITICAL AWAKENING: Bill Gates funds covert vaccine nanotechnology

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is gaining a reputation for funding technologies designed to roll out mass sterilization and vaccination programs around the world. One of the programs recently funded by the foundation is a sterilization program that would use sharp blasts of ultrasound directed against a man's scrotum to render him infertile for six months. It might accurately be called a “temporary castration” technology. Read more about it here:http://www.naturalnews.com/028853_u… Now, the foundation has funded a new “sweat-triggered vaccine delivery” program based onnanoparticles penetrating human skin. The technology is describes as a way to “…develop nanoparticles that penetrate the skin through hair follicles and burst upon contact with human sweat to release vaccines.” The research grant money is going to Carlos Alberto Guzman of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Germany and Claus-Michael Lehr and Steffi Hansen of the Helmholtz-Institute for Pharmaceutical Research. These are both part of the Gates Foundation's involvement in the “Grand Challenges Explorations” program which claims to be working to “achieve major breakthroughs in globalhealth.” …breakthroughs like mass sterilization and nanoparticle vaccines that could be covertlyadministered even without your knowledge, it turns out. These nanoparticles could be used in aspray mist that's sprayed on to every person who walks through an airport security checkpoint, for example. Or it could be unleashed through the ventilation systems of corporate office buildings or public schools to vaccinate the masses. You wouldn't even know you were being vaccinated. This technology is potentially very dangerous to your health freedom. Using it, governments or drug companies (which are all the same thing these days) could create a vaccine skin creamthat's handed out and described as “sunscreen.” But when you put it on, you're actually vaccinating yourself as the nanoparticles burrow underneath your skin and burst, releasing foreign DNA inside your body. A history of covert mass medication But why would the government medicate people without their knowledge or consent, you ask? They already do it with water fluoridation. Fluoride is a drug, and regional and national governments all over the world are using the water supply as a way to deliver the fluoride drug to people whether they need it or not — and without any proper medical diagnosis or prescription. So if governments are already covertly medicating people with fluoride in the water supply, they've set the stage mass-vaccinating people through similar channels, such as the air supply in buildings. And thanks to Bill Gates, this nanotechnology needed to pull this off is now being funded. Is this really a “major breakthrough in global health?” I suppose it is if you believe in covert medicine where you dose people with drugs or vaccines without their knowledge. Western medicine is so offensive to rational people that it can't even operate out in the open. That's why it resorts to covert contamination of the water supply in order to force the public to swallow its drugs. Fluoride and covert medicine Oh, by the way, to anyone who argues that fluoride is not a drug, remember this: According to the FDA, any chemical substance that has a biological effect on the human body is, by definition, a drug. Therefore fluoride is a drug, too. Even more, fluoride is promoted with outlandish claims about “preventing cavities” by swallowing it, making it an “unapproved drug” according to the FDA. So how is it that this unapproved drug can be dripped into the water supply and forced upon hundreds of millions of people without a single diagnosis of fluoride deficiency or even a single prescription from a doctor? The answer is that western medicine is so arrogant that it does not believe it needs to follow any rules, regulations or laws. It is a system of “bully” medicine where drugs are shoved down your throat by being covertly dripped into the water supply without your consent. So why should we believe vaccines will be any different? If mainstream medicine can find a way to force every person to unknowingly be injected with vaccines, make no mistake they will pursue it! And such efforts will no doubt have the continued financial support of Bill Gates. Sources for this story include: The Daily Tell: http://www.thedailytell.com/2010/05.. . Girl Talk Reveals His Favorite All Day Moments

Greg Gillis’ faves include his samples of Black Sabbath, Soulja Boy, Miley Cyrus and more. By James Montgomery Girl Talk Photo: Jason Merritt/ FilmMagic.com On Monday (November 15), Girl Talk brought the Internet to its knees with the out-of-nowhere release of All Day, his latest collection of whiplash-inducing, copyright-eschewing party jams. Clocking in at more than 70 minutes and featuring some 370 different samples, it’s both GT’s longest and most ambitious effort to date, which makes the fact that he gave it away for free all the more impressive. To most people, at least. “I don’t know, it doesn’t seem like all that big of a thing to me,” the producer (real name: Gregg Gillis) told MTV News on Monday, hours after All Day hit the ‘Net. “It’s always like, ‘How can I raise the bar a little bit?’ So I thought just making it free, straight-up, would do that, and would get it out there quicker. That was really the only thinking behind it.” Still, Gillis will be the first to admit that he labored longer and harder on All Day than all of the previous Girl Talk albums combined, which is why it’s understandable that he’d rather talk about some of his favorite individual moments on the album rather than the marketing strategy (or lack thereof) behind its release. “I definitely really like the opening bit, the ‘War Pigs’ thing,” he said. “I think the flow is just perfect and the energy is right, and like I said before … you always want to make a strong impact out of the gates, and that was the perfect moment. I really like the Soulja Boy/ Aphex Twin mix. I really like the ‘Where’s Your Head At?’/ Rick Ross ‘Blowin’ Money Fast’ mix. … Oh, and the M.O.P. over Miley Cyrus’ ‘Party in the USA’ mix is definitely one of the more magical moments to me.” All Day has only been out for 24 hours, but fans have already created an ever-growing list of all the samples Gillis mined to make the album. And they’ve been contacting him nonstop to discuss their favorite mixes, too. Though the response has been overwhelming, Gillis said he’s pretty used to it at this point. After all, when it comes to his music, playing “Spot the Sample” is half of the fun. “People are always juiced about the big ones … the Jackson 5 samples and things like that, but when people are really excited, they kinda cite the slightly more obscure ones,” Gillis laughed. “The Fugazi [‘Waiting Room’ sample] has been one people have been talking about a lot, and the Aphex Twin/Soulja Boy one. … People kind of expect the huge pop hits and the classics, but it’s the ones that are slightly less popular that really get the fans who have been listening to my stuff for years really excited about diving in.” Related Artists Girl Talk

Chris Matthews Bets Lib Guest Christine O’Donnell Will Win in November

Chris Matthews on Wednesday departed from the liberal media conventional wisdom that Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell’s defeat of Republican favorite Mike Castle was good news for Democrats and President Obama. Quite the contrary, the “Hardball” host has become extremely pessimistic about Democrat chances to retain Congress in the upcoming midterm elections, so much so that he likened his Party to the Titanic. “The boat is sinking,” he told fellow liberal David Corn. “The establishment is sinking.” When Corn tried to push back on Matthews’ view, the devout liberal said, “I take O`Donnell. How many points are you going to give me?” (videos follow with transcripts and commentary):  DAVID CORN, MOTHER JONES: Two points. First, you have — we have to see how these Tea Partiers do with a general election audience. And the second point — CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Oh, you`re taking the – CORN: No, no, no. MATTHEWS: You are trying to deny — (CROSSTALK) CORN: See what happens. MATTHEWS: You`re still denying it. CORN: I was on last night. You know I`m not denying it. I think they`re major threats to the Democrats. But we got to see what happens. MATTHEWS: Well, let me get this straight. As the Titanic sinks and it`s all the way up to the top decks, and it`s already up to the top decks, well, let`s see how it affects the first class passengers. The boat is sinking. The establishment is sinking. CORN: Listen, Leonardo is still holding on tight. And we see how — what happens to him. (LAUGHTER) CORN: But the other point is, you know that presidential primaries are like family holiday gatherings. All of the internal dysfunctions get played out. And so, really what happens right now, whether the establishment comes and supports people like Christine O`Donnell or not, those passions are going to be really stirred up and if you see Karl Rove continuing to battle with the Tea Party forces, then I think it will put more pressure and create more anger on the far right that will turn into explosive. MATTHEWS: OK. CORN: You know — it will be explosive. MATTHEWS: You`re using a lot of words, David. Usually, you`re much more punchy. The reason you`re taking a lot of words — CORN: I`ll make it simple — (CROSSTALK) CORN: I think it`s still hard for the Republicans. MATTHEWS: I look at Rand Paul, that the guy is going to win. I look at Pat Toomey now and I hate to say, this is a guy who`s going to win. I think the right has got the upper hand now going into this general election. And I`m looking at these numbers — CORN: But they always — they always did. MATTHEWS: They have the upper hand. Your thoughts. Wow! Matthews now thinks Paul and Toomey are going to win. But it gets better: MICHELLE BERNARD, MSNBC POLITICAL ANALYST: But if you look at the people who have been basically sent running from the Republican Party this year, we`ve got Crist, Arlen Specter, Lisa Murkowski — there is definitely a lot of dissension within the Republican Party, and, quote-unquote, “establishment people,” could literally see themselves completely knocked out of Republican politics by the time we get to 2012. CORN: But at the same time — but at the same — MATTHEWS: So, the establishment lost every one of these races, they`re at the bottom of the league. The people that are winning are all the challengers. And I just — every night it happens, I say, this can`t happen. Castle can`t lose. Specter can`t lose. They all lose. The establishment of the politics of America is playing defense now and they`re losing. CORN: The Republican establishment — all those Republicans who are beaten, most of them would probably have done very well in general election. What we`re worrying about now, what some people are worrying about is that — is that Castle would have done better than Christine O`Donnell. I mean, Murkowski would have an easy walk to re-election, right? Joe Miller probably will win, but he has a smaller chance of winning, at least that`s the constitution wisdom at the moment. MATTHEWS: I take O`Donnell. How many points are you going to give me? CORN: How many points will I give you? MATTHEWS: Yes, how many you give. Because you keep acting like this is all over, that she`s going to lose. CORN: No, but I don`t believe it`s all over. MATTHEWS: Right. CORN: But I do believe that the Republicans have this internal split — MATTHEWS: OK. OK. I get back to this. CORN: — that they still haven`t dealt with. MATTHEWS: I can`t see the Republican convention meeting, wherever they`re going to meet, in Tampa, right? They`re down there and they`re thundering in there with delegates, one of these Tea Partiers after another, storming the gates, all excited about they`re going to get rid of the 14th Amendment, get rid of, what, the 17th Amendment, energize the 10th Amendment, love the Second Amendment, and then they go pick Romney, Tim Pawlenty. CORN: But who`s the Tea Party candidate? MATTHEWS: I don`t see how it happens. CORN: But who`s the Tea Party candidate? Sarah Palin? Who else? MATTHEWS: Yes. CORN: Well, what if she doesn`t run? MATTHEWS: Well, I don`t know what happens. CORN: What happens to them? MATTHEWS: I don`t see what — I`m asking the question. BERNARD: I don`t — I don`t think this is the death now for, quote- unquote, “establishment people,” like Mitt Romney. He`s a good guy. I think — we just don`t know. I know you think it`s funny — (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: I think you like establishment-type Republicans. BERNARD: I do. CORN: He also knows — he knows how to change his skin. He already sent money to Christine O`Donnell. BERNARD: But he`s also never going to campaign like Christine O`Donnell. We are never going to see that type of a flip-flop, I hope, from Mitt Romney or others, I hope. (CROSSTALK) BERNARD: We`re not going to see someone like Christine O`Donnell — MATTHEWS: — abortion rights. CORN: These guys run the way they run and then they look to the vice president to sort of send that message. BERNARD: We will not see a Christine O`Donnell on the Republican ticket in 2012. (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: The tea point is boiling and steaming and it`s going to make that whistle sound when it`s ready to coffee. BERNARD: Absolutely. MATTHEWS: The whistle is making that sound. (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: You try to put a lid on that (INAUDIBLE). In the final segment of “Hardball,” Matthews really drove this point home: MATTHEWS: Let me finish tonight with a question. Just where do you think this explosion of voter anger we saw last night in Delaware and have seen growing in voters in Pennsylvania, Florida, Utah, Nevada, Kentucky, Colorado and in just about every poll across the country is going to take us? Last night, as the dust began to clear, I heard progressive glee that the anger was on the verge of burning itself out, that the victory of Christine O`Donnell in Delaware like that of Sharron Angle in Nevada, was throwing away the election. How could voters in the general election go so far as to elect one of these candidates the angry primary voters have kicked pup? I supposed I had my eyes on something different. While others were seeing dead people, the defeated Mike Castle, who was supposed to be strong this November, I saw the strength of the flames that consumed him and will consume many others this rapidly approaching election night. I have waited all my adult life for an election in which voters have the fire to reach up and burn those who have been running the show for decades. But I didn`t know it would come from the right and center. 2010 could be the first year in modern times when being in office in Washington and part of Washington is the worst possible credential when facing voters. I don`t know how far the fire will burn. Based upon last night`s returns, I expect it has a long way to go. It could topple the House and, yes, the U.S. Senate. It could bring the defeat of people who feel even now they are not endangered. It could produce an election night spectacle of name brand politicians standing before stance supporters saying their careers are kaput. Why is this happening? Because this economic system is failing to produce the security and opportunity people have come to expect in this country. In this middle-class country, the middle class are scared and when people are scared, they get angry. They sense a rot at the top and are ready to chop it off. If the plan of those in power to raise a ton of cash and run nasty TV ads saying you can`t vote for this new person, that he or she is flawed — I expect the voter will say, “Are you telling me I have no choice but to vote for you? Are you saying that I, this little voter out there, dare not take a chance on someone who has not yet let me down as you have? If that is what you`re telling me, that I have no choice, well, Mr. Big Stuff, you just have to wait — stay up late election night and see what I have done.” Wow! It appears Mr. Matthews is starting to understand just how strong this anti-Democrat, anti-big government movement is. The only question remaining is when will the rest of his liberal colleagues in the media? Will they get it before Election Day? Stay tuned.
