Austin Plane Crash First Reports "TrafficCam" KXAN NBC Coverage

An Austin, Texas, resident with an apparent grudge against the Internal Revenue Service set his house on fire Thursday and then crashed a small plane into a building housing an IRS office with nearly 200 employees, officials said. Federal authorities identified the pilot of the Piper Cherokee PA-28 as Joseph Andrew Stack, 53. Two people were injured and one person was missing, local officials said. There were no reported deaths. A message on a Web site registered to Stack appears to be a suicide note. See ireport photos and videos from the scene “If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, ‘Why did this have to happen?’ ” the message says. “The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time.” In the lengthy, rambling message, the writer rails against the government and, particularly, the IRS.

Ron Howard’s Daughter is Boring of the Day

I have done some research and it turns out that a pussy can not be any more boring than whatever the fuck is going on with Ron Howard’s daughter in these pictures. Seriously, this is less arrousing than watching a group of Amish women cross the fucking street with their cow and cart, because at least I know Amish chicks with the right lines, totally suck dick in the barn in exchange for portable DVD players and ipods, cuz no one in America, no matter how hard they try can actually live a life without knowing even the littlest thing about what’s going on in popculture and if they do, the government should intervene because that kind of oppressive shit is serious abusive, but not as abusive as trying to jerk off to Ron Howard’s daughter, seriously, I think lookin’ at pics of her dad in Happy Days would get me fucking harder…..

Poll: 51%, majority of Americans support Obama’s Afghan strategy

A narrow majority of Americans support President Obama's revamped strategy on Afghanistan, according to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Wednesday, but there are broad concerns that the costs of the war will sap the government's ability to address problems facing the nation at home. Though the results underscore a significant selling job ahead for the White House, they also show a willingness by Democratic voters to back Obama despite their reservations about the war.

Turkey announces plans for Kurdish rights

ANKARA, Turkey — Turkey's government announced bold new measures Friday aimed at reconciling with minority Kurds and ending an insurgency that has dragged on for 25 years, but there was no mention of the sweeping amnesty sought by Kurdish rebels. Interior Minister Besir Atalay told Parliament the government wants to remove all restrictions on the use of the once-banned Kurdish language, create a committee to fight discrimination, restore Kurdish names of villages and establish an independent body to deal with complaints against security forces. “It is an open-ended, dynamic process,” Atalay said

ACLU warning on Facebook quizzes

Privacy advocates have long warned that users of Facebook and other social networks who seek amusement from quizzes like “What Simpsons Character Are You?” might be mortified by the way creators of such applications can access and potentially “scrape” personal information — not just about the quiz-takers, but their friends as well. Now, engaging in some online jujitsu, the ACLU of Northern California is employing a cautionary Facebook quiz of its own to illustrate how quizzes that may seem “perfectly harmless” can release an array of data to the wider world — including users' “religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, photos, events, notes, wall posts, and groups.” The app, titled “What Do Facebook Quizzes Know About You?” delivers its answer by opening a window that scrolls biographical data, attributed comments and photos.
