Samsung Recalls $19 Billion Worth Of Galaxy Note 7’s After Exploding Controversy After months of incidents involving their exploding Galaxy Note 7 , Samsung has officially shut down the production of the fiery cell phone. According to DailyMail , the decision is going to cost the company a LOT of money. The decision could cost the firm $19billion. Experts estimate the axing of the device could cost nearly $17bn in lost sales and Samsung could have to shell out an estimated $2.2billion if every 2.5 million handset produced is refunded at an average cost of $850. ‘Taking our customers’ safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of the Galaxy Note 7,’ the company said. Once it became apparent that the first round of phones were combustible, Samsung offered replacement phones…and then THOSE started to blow up. Somebody at Apple is smiling ear-to-ear right now.
