She’s been number-one on the Billboard music chart , so it’s only nature that Carly Rae Jepsen would now be featured on the cover of Billboard magazine. In the publication’s latest issue, the wildly successful singer – she sings “Call Me Maybe,” perhaps you’ve of it? – opens up about her recent professional journey – from struggling artist… to Justin Bieber record label signee… to top of the music world in a matter of months – and expresses nothing but shock. “Pretty much every day, there’s a moment where I’m having to pinch myself and think, ‘When did this happen to my life?’” Carly says. But it doesn’t sound like Jepsen has let her tidal wave of fame and fortune go to her head. She adds that she still appreciates the nuances of song writing. “What I really love about [music] is that, despite all this craziness the creative process remains the same. And that same exciting feeling that I had before anybody knew me, when I was just beginning to work on ‘Call Me Maybe,’ is the same feeling I had today with RedFoo from LMFAO. “You can sense the people who really have it are about writing that right word or that right melody to make it lift and make you feel that perfect emotion.” Jepsen has come out with a new song. Adam Lambert covers the latest issue of Instinct , a magazine that focuses on the LGBT community – and opens up to the publication on a topic that may cause some controversy for the former American Idol star. “As a community, we’re a little bit resistant to a gay male pop star ourselves,” Lambert says. “It’s very easy for people to look at my origin, which is American Idol , and automatically assume that I’m a commercial sellout or a puppet or a flash in the pan. “I don’t think I’m any of those things. There’s something weird there. We’re very eager to celebrate a strong female. But to celebrate a fellow gay man – it gets catty sometimes.” The artist will soon be coming out with a new album, one he has described as especially personal , and he elaborated here regarding what fans can expect: “This is the kind of music I listen to. I know the style of vocal I have is kind of big. It has a certain edge to it. Jennifer Lopez may have flashed a nipple while presenting at the Oscars. But, in the latest issue of V , the singer/dancer/actress/ American Idol judge makes sure not to expose any other private parts: she’s donning a protective cup over her crotch. Why? Lopez tells the magazine she “thought it was more graphic,” while going on to explain how boxing is a parallel to her life: “I’ve always felt like a tough girl from the Bronx, but I have a soft core,” Lopez says. “I can take a lot of punches and still keep going. I’ve been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds.” And she’s certainly been through a lot recently, of course, as Jennifer’s divorce from Marc Anthony made headlines for weeks. “We’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together,” she tells the publication of her ex. “I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn’t work out.” Lopez has been married three times now and has also seen a couple albums and movies go bust. But she tries to take each failure in stride. “You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it. At the end of the day, I made those choices. I’ve been in the business now, I don’t want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt.”

Asked where he stands on Newt Gingrich’s proposal to put a permanent base on the moon by 2020, Paul said, “Well, I don’t think we should go to the moon.” “I think we maybe should send some politicians up there.” Florida GOP Debate Highlights: Ron Paul Edition! Paul, who at 76 would be the oldest person ever elected President of the United States also drew cheers in his response to a question about his medical records. Noting that his records are “about one page, if even that long,” Paul challenged his cohorts to “a 25-mile bike ride, any time, any day in the heat of Texas.” But, you know, there are laws against age discrimination, so if you push this too much, you better be careful,” he quipped, and he wasn’t done by a long shot. Asked by CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer what he would say if Raul Castro called him in the Oval Office, Paul said, “Well, I’d ask what he called about, you know?” Which isn’t to say Paul’s wit was his only asset. He routinely scored points with his strong responses, especially regarding monetary policy and civil liberties. Florida’s primary is Tuesday, January 31.

Ashton Kutcher has only released one public statement since Demi Moore was hospitalized – and it was a Tweet that referenced ” citizen journalists ” – but a source close to the actor wants to make it clear: He does care about his ex-wife. “Ashton is deeply concerned for Demi,” the insider tells People , adding he was simply in Brazil this week for work on an ad campaign. “He still cares about her and wants the best for her. But their marriage is ending and they are both moving on with their lives.” Kutcher touched back down in Los Angeles yesterday and will return to the set of Two and a Half Men Monday. Meanwhile, a new story in Great Britain’s The Sun says Moore has been hooked on Red Bull for over a decade. She supposedly gets crates of the energy drink delivered to her house and has often replaced meals with multiple intakes of this beverage. This actually jibes with another report earlier in the week, which cited a partying, flirtatious Moore from a couple weeks ago, clutching a Red Bull can during a night out.

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton covers the latest issue of Scouting, a U.K. magazine dedicated to promoting … scouting. And specifically volunteer work! The 30-year-old is now the February/March cover girl on the publication, a fitting choice after she performed some private volunteer work with the scouts. “Part of her role as volunteer is to help below the radar,” says a source of Kate’s work with girl and boy scouts and their younger counterparts, the Beavers. The scouts hope the duchess will help Kate Middleton run a variety of activities relevant to her skills and interests, and she’s likely to be popping into some groups’ regular meetings near her home on Anglesey, North Wales, and elsewhere. Inside the magazine, adventurer-broadcaster Bear Grylls pays tribute to Kate: “It is how we change our society, many people doing a little bit,” he says. The scouts are one of five charities she chose to patronize in her royal role. Kate is set to start officially touring some of them next month. She and husband Prince William are due back from vacation in Mustique soon. William then heads to the Falkland Islands for military duty next month.
