Opening up about his new role as Alex Cross, Perry praises black women (his number one fan base according to Essence), and takes a serious moment to talk about the late greats Whitney and MJ. Telling the mag, “When Black women are down with you and in your corner, you have an ally that will move heaven and earth…”, you can’t help but realize that even Tyler knows the huge number of female supporters, particularly those with religious backgrounds, have had a lot to do with his successful career. According to The Grio… Essence estimates that Perry’s film enterprise spawned from the beloved stage character Madea — a fierce-talking mother figure — is worth an impressive $1 billion. After parlaying his Madea plays into movies, the actor-producer aims to extend his entertainment brand even further by playing the complete opposite of the grandmotherly mad woman. Yes, get ready for: Tyler Perry, Action Star. Taking over the role of Alex Cross, which was previously played by Morgan Freeman, Perry beat out Idris Elba among others for the role in the coming eponymous film. “Rising past the haters — and the sheer desolation of losing his beloved mother — Tyler Perry has only just begun to soar,” the magazine states about the iconic producer. “Respected as a writer, director and mogul, the man behind the $1 billion-plus Madea franchise is now moving into unchartered territory: Action hero.” Perry’s Alex Cross, in which he plays the butt-kicking lead, is certainly a departure from his female-oriented melodramas. On the heels of the announcement that Tyler Perry will be uniting with Oprah Winfrey to produce original, scripted series for her OWN network, this is shaping up to be quite an exciting week for the performer who is also a seasoned television producer. Man Brings Drugs To Court Appearance And Is Arrested Again An Illinois man in court for drug possession though it would be a good idea to bring his white powdery sidekick to court with him and was arrested on site after his drugs were discovered at the security check point. via The Grio A man appearing in front of a judge today for violating his probation for drug possession was arrested for doing it again — but this time inside the courthouse. Alex Robinson, 37, of Aurora, Illinois, was scheduled to appear at the Kane County courthouse this morning for violating probation from a previous cocaine delivery charge when security guards caught him carrying cocaine, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Robinson was going through the security line, waiting to get into the courthouse, when the metal detector went off. On his second trip through the detectors, the guards asked him to empty his pockets to make sure the alarm wouldn’t go off again. That’s when he dropped a bag with three grams of cocaine into a bin along with the rest of his things. Proof that yayo kills brain cells on contact. This fool wanted to end up exactly where he did, no question about it.

According to TMZ… Nicki Minaj derailed the “American Idol” auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina today, after swearing at Mariah Carey and threatening, “I’m gonna knock you out” … sources tell TMZ. In the footage, obtained by TMZ, Nicki is clearly furious … shouting, “I told them, I’m not f*ckin’ putting up with her f*ckin’ highness over there.” Sources say Nicki later threatened to “knock out” Mariah … but that part wasn’t captured on tape. It all went down while the two were sitting at the judge’s table … with Keith Urban sitting in between them and Randy Jackson sitting on the far end, next to Mariah. We’re told the whole thing exploded over a disagreement about a contestant’s performance. According to our friends at MouthToEars.com, producers ended the auditions for the day so the two judges could cool down. Big wigs on the show seem uncharacteristically upset by the blow up — it appears this was no joke and it seems producers are worried about Mariah and Nicki co-existing for the long haul. We hope this gets squashed and the two can move on…even if one of them has to leave Idol. The last thing we need is another terrible representation of black women for middle America to see on TV. Guess she isn’t as proud of her Chubby Lumpkins stat as we thought since the snippets from an interview claiming to come from Xtina’s Billboard mag feature are bogus…at least that’s what her reps are saying: Christina Aguilera has denied describing herself as a ‘fat girl’ in a new interview. The Voice star was thought to have spoken out about her body image in a series of quotes widely attributed to Billboard magazine. But her spokesperson has since described the comments as ‘made up’. Reports claimed she decided to stand up to record executives while promoting her new release Lotus by saying: ‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it. But the extensive anecdote does not in fact feature in Billboard magazine’s cover story and her spokesperson told Mail Online: ‘These quotes are wrong – she never said them.’ Aguilera is currently promoting her new album Lotus, in stores November 13, and she is no doubt hoping for a strong comeback after 2010 flop Bionic. While her body image was not mentioned, she did speak to Billboard that about her new release, saying: ‘It represents a celebration of the new me…And to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings. ‘It withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years. ‘I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message…And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21… and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.’ Regardless of Christina’s ‘fat girl’ stat, we’re just glad to see the positivity she’s giving and getting amidst all of the weight gain chit chatter. Do you think he’s sorry? Kramer hit the road and a dive coffee shop in the last episode of Seinfeld’s usually funny series, “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.”… Richards broke down at one point in the interview and expressed his ‘regret’ and opened up about his crazy attack on a heckler during his stand-up appearance at the Laugh Factory six years ago. In case you forgot, Michael’s azz got caught on video yelling “Throw his ass out…He’s a n*****! Look there’s a n*****!”…since then, he was seen apologizing but for the last few years, he’s been laying low. Snippets from the interview tell us just how remorseful Kramer’s felt. All of this makes us wonder…is he sorry for being racist or is he sorry that he got caught and the shady outburst ruined his career… On the subject of being a “selfless” performer, he says: “That’s a lesson I learned…when I blew it in the comedy club. I lost my temper ‘cause somebody interrupted my act and said some things that hurt me and I lashed out in anger. “I should have been working selflessly that evening…”It was a selfish response. I took it too personally and I should have just said: ‘Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I’m not funny. I think I’ll go home and work on my material and I’ll see you tomorrow night… “But – you know – it was just one of those nights.” He added: “I busted up after that event…It broke me down.” Richards goes on to thank Seinfeld for publicly supporting, him, saying: “And thanks for sticking by me. It meant a lot to me…”But inside it still kicks me around…” At one point during their meeting – as the two friends drive from Richards’ home to a Malibu coffee shop – the comedian suggests Seinfeld stop to drop in on his “friend” African-American boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. But instead they go to the house of Ghost Whisperer actor Jay Mohr. At first Richards claims he made a “mistake,” before admitting to Seinfeld that he really doesn’t know Leonard at all. What would you do if you found yourself in this situation? We hear the word ‘whore’ a lot these days and LaLa thinks too many of us have become numb to it . LaLa Anthony made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and was giving advice to callers during part of the show. Everything was going pretty cool until a caller explained her situation; the young lady had a friend who slept around a lot and was getting called a whore. The caller felt like she was getting a bad reputation because she was still hanging out with her and asked LaLa how she’d deal with that situation since she’s “friends with Kim Kardashian”. Lala responded: “First of all, We joke around and have fun but I am really starting to get a little tired of people calling her that to me because if I was calling your friend a whore you wouldn’t like that would you? No matter what people’s perceptions are, I know my friend and I know her heart and who she is and she’s not a whore. We are all grown now! I can’t be responsible for what people think about other people, I go by how a person treats me and she’s always been an amazing person to me. As far as your situation is concerned, the same thing applies. We are all grown. If your friend has a bad rep, you can’t take responsibility for what your friend does, so you shouldn’t be grouped in that category because of what she does, you can only be responsible for your own actions…I think a Hoe is someone who has no morals or values when they do what they do. So I think a hoe is breaking up [a home]– knows a person is married and is messing with him. According to the Orlando Sentinel… A 48-year-old Volusia County minister faces decades in prison after a jury this week convicted him of raping a little girl nearly six years ago. Michael Charles Campbell of DeLand faces as much as 60 years in prison after his conviction Thursday on charges of sexual battery and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor 12 to 18 years of age, the State Attorney’s Office said. Campbell, a minister in Deland and West Palm Beach, lured the girl to a motel for sex by promising her help with her modeling career with a “skit,” prosecutors and police said. The former Daytona Beach funeral home worker attacked the girl when she was 12 and 13. In December 2006, he picked the girl up in a hearse with a body inside after telling her father he wanted her to do some work at the funeral home. They delivered a body to Daytona Beach International Airport and as they drove away, he told the girl that she might have to take her clothes off for the skit. The girl said he told her he “might have to take a look at you first” and pulled the hearse off the roadway. She said she exposed herself. Then they drove to a motel, where the girl said Campbell taught her how to put a condom on and kissed and fondled her. They spent several hours in the room and afterwards, Campbell gave her $44, the girl told police. In December 2007, the girl was taken to a motel for another “skit,” but that time she tried to resist, even though Campbell told her “it was how Brittany Spears and Beyonce got their start.” SMH…We’re not blaming anyone other than this disgusting waste of life but we wish parents out there would stop being so willing to let their young children go off alone with adults; even if they’re the head of the Church. Based on how the car looks, someone has a guardian angel… Bobbi Kristina, Nick Gordon In Car Accident While Arguing According to TMZ reports : Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina was involved in a scary car accident in Georgia — DESTROYING the entire front end of the vehicle — and TMZ has a photo of the damage. The black 2012 Camaro belongs to Bobbi’s boyfriend Nick Gordon — and according to sources close to Bobbi, Nick was driving Sunday night in Alpharetta, GA … with Bobbi in the passenger seat … when the accident happened. The details surrounding the accident are unclear, but we’re told the couple had been arguing at the time of the crash — and Nick’s Camaro was the only car involved. No one was injured. Uh-ohhhhh, trouble in paradise? After the accident, the car was missing the front right tire, the front bumper was torn off, and the airbags were deployed — but somehow it got back to Bobbi and Nick’s apartment. Cops went to the apartment soon after the accident for a noise complaint, but no one answered the door. According to the incident report, officers saw the car parked outside the apartment with its hazard lights on — and it appeared it had been driven in a damaged state. We’re told the accident is currently under investigation. Calls to Bobbi’s people were not returned. While we’re glad that these two crazy kids are ok, there is definitely some ‘splainin’ to do! Like many of her fellow Repubs, Mia is opposed to “anchor babies” (a racist way to say “immigrants having children in order to stay in the country”). Turns out, Mia was an “anchor baby” herself…and the Mormon follower just got her azz fact checked after her RNC speech spit all that talk. We quoted Mia’s shady azz when she gave her speech at the RNC earlier this month… The speech, which drew sustained applause, combined her family’s journey to the U.S. with references to civil-rights icons Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.‘Our story has been told over 200 years,’ she told the adoring crowd. ‘With small steps and giant leaps, from a woman on a bus to a man with a dream.’ ‘My parents immigrated to the U.S. with $10 in their pocket, believing that the America they had heard about really did exist. ‘When times got tough they didn’t look to Washington, they looked within…‘The America I grew up knowing was centered in self-reliance and filled with the possibilities of living the American dream.’ She claimed President Obama was dividing the country – ‘pitting us against each other based on our income level, gender and social status.’ ‘His policies have failed,’ she continued. ‘We are not better off than we were four years ago, and no rhetoric, bumper sticker or Hollywood campaign ad can change that. ‘Mr. President, I am here to tell you we are not buying what you are selling in 2012.’ And according to Mother Jones , Mia’s story doesn’t make a lot of sense: When she spoke at the Republican National Convention last month, Mia Love, a GOP rising star who’s vying to become the first black Republican woman elected to the House, wowed delegates with her parents’ up-by-their-bootstraps tale. She said their story of coming to America from Haiti with $10 in their pockets formed the basis for her own belief in self-reliance and her staunch opposition to government handouts…Though a child of immigrants, Love has embraced much of her party’s tough stance on immigration. She has implied that she would back deporting the US-born children of illegal immigrants so as not to reward “bad behavior.” Yet by Love’s own account, she is what Republicans derisively call an “anchor baby”— someone born to immigrant parents specifically to game the immigration system and secure legal status for family members. Love doesn’t talk about this aspect of her family’s immigration story now that she’s running for Congress, but she once said in a little-noticed interview that her birth on US soil helped bring her siblings to America. In January 2011, Love told the Deseret News that her parents, Jean Maxime and Marie Bourdeau, came to New York in the 1970s, fleeing poverty and looking for a better life. Love said that her parents immigrated legally, but were forced to leave their two young children behind in Haiti because their visa didn’t allow them to bring the kids. But, writes the Deseret News: There was an immigration law in place, however, that would grant the entire family citizenship if Jean Maxine and Mary had a baby in America. But there was a deadline. The law was set to expire on Jan. 1, 1976. On Dec. 6, 1975, with 25 days to spare, Mia was born in a Brooklyn hospital. In no time, her older brother and sister were sent for in Haiti and the family was re-united. Says Mia: “My parents have always told me I was a miracle and our family’s ticket to America.” It’s an uplifting story, but there’s one problem with this account. According to immigration lawyers and US immigration officials, there doesn’t appear to have been a law of the kind described in the article that would have conferred citizenship on Love’s parents, let alone her siblings, by simply having a baby in the United States. Though American immigration law did change in 1976, it merely limited the number of immigrants from the Western Hemisphere who could obtain permanent visas. According to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, the law since at least 1924 has barred minor children from petitioning for permanent residence status on their parents’ behalf. Love’s birth in the US couldn’t have helped to reunite her family in America, say immigration lawyers contacted by Mother Jones. And, they add, if the Bourdeaus were in the US legally on a permanent visa, they would have been able to bring the kids, according to the law at the time. In case you’re still wondering if this is really a black woman speaking…check out her shady stances on public funding: -Proposes eliminating the federally subsidized school lunch program and the funding that supports special education in public schools. -Wants to cut the Earned Income Tax Credit in half…keeping millions of working people out of poverty. -Pushing to radically slash housing subsidies that keeps millions of poor people off the streets. Luckily, Mia is trailing behind her opponent by double-digits but her ties to the right are scary. The GOP has given her major funding; $1 million towards the race and Vice Presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have all held fundraisers for this sellout. You can NOT be serious ! A Houston police officer shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair Saturday inside a group home after police say the double amputee threatened the officer and aggressively waved a metal object that turned out to be a pen. Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said the man cornered the officer in his wheelchair and was making threats while trying to stab the officer with the pen. At the time, the officer did not know what the metal object was that the man was waving, Silva said. She said the man came “within inches to a foot” of the officer and did not follow instructions to calm down and remain still. “Fearing for his partner’s safety and his own safety, he discharged his weapon,” Silva told The Associated Press. Police did not immediately release the name of the man who was killed. They had been called to the home after a caretaker there called and reported that the man in wheelchair was causing a disturbance. The owner of the group home, John Garcia, told the Houston Chronicle that the man had a history of mental illness and had been living at the house about 18 months. Garcia said the man had told him that he lost a leg above the knee and all of one arm when he was hit by a train. Silva identified the officer as Matthew Jacob Marin, a five-year veteran of the department. He was immediately placed on three-day administrative leave, which is standard in all shootings involving officers. Oh come on! A guy in a wheelchair? A guy with one leg and one arm? Armed with a “metal object”? It was obviously not a gun! He didn’t have to shoot to kill. He didn’t have to shoot at all. Don’t officers have tazers and mace?
