Latest Green Lantern Stills: Ryan Reynolds Kicks Ass in Kelly Green

I can’t help but thinking these new Green Lantern stills look like poorly greenscreened music videos from precisely 2001-02. Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever”? Brandy’s “What About Us”? Janet Jackson’s “All for You”? What a terrible time for pop starlets. You had to dance alongside CGI horses on Crayola mountaintops if you wanted a pop hit. Anyway, Ryan Reynolds looks silly here, but whatever! Enjoy.

TRAILER: Emma Roberts is a Muse in The Art of Getting By

The Sundance hit Homework , the Emma Roberts/Freddie Highmore film that Fox Searchlight snatched up the day of its premiere, is now retitled The Art of Getting By . Is the trailer worth analyzing? Ish. But you know what deserves more scrutiny? The fact that these stars look 11 and 8 respectively.

Samurai Obliterate An Entire Army in Trailer For Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins

Given that previous films from Japanese shock cinema master Takashi Miike ( Ichi the Killer , Audition ) have featured title screens written in semen, explicit homages to the conclusion of The Grapes of Wrath and uh, the entire earth exploding, the trailer for 13 Assassins actually looks kind of tame. But that’s like saying David Lynch’s Blue Velvet looks “normal” compared to Inland Empire .

Just When Will Katherine Heigl’s Next Film Get Released?

Tough times for Katherine Heigl. Not only was she put on full-blast by Mila Kunis in the trailer for summer rom-com Friends With Benefits , but her own summer film has been yanked from the schedule altogether. The Heigl-led adaptation of Janet Evanovich’s One of the Money had been set for release on June 3 (opposite X-Men: First Class ), but Lionsgate pulled it off the calendar with the hopes of finding a date that felt “right.” The studio is apparently still looking; Money is currently scheduled for TBD. It’s unofficially a Twilight Friday here at Movieline. First, there was Robert Pattinson looking perfectly furrowed in the trailer for Water for Elephants , and now comes word that Kristen Stewart is closing in on the leading role in Snow White and the Huntsman , opposite Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. Take that, other Snow White movie with Julia Roberts! [ Deadline ]

Return of the ‘Pack: The Teaser Trailer for The Hangover Part II Debuts with Help from Jay-Z

When the trailer for Bruno debuted in 2009 , Universal tried to sell audiences on the critical love for Sacha Baron Cohen’s previous summer comedy, Borat . It didn’t work. Cut to 2011, and here comes Warner Bros. using a similar strategy in the first teaser for The Hangover Part II (it looks like those Roman numerals are part of the official title), which uses quotes about the first film to fill up much of the trailer’s length. Is this highly anticipated sequel doomed to face a Bruno -like box office fate?

Watch Cameron Diaz Cuss at Kids in NSFW Red Band Bad Teacher Trailer

I can only imagine that everyone involved in Bad Santa will be at least a little bit bummed out after this trailer for Bad Teacher . As the trailer started, maybe they just mused, “Hey, that Jake Kasdan guy made a movie with people cussing and doing drugs around kids, except it stars Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake and it doesn’t look as funny. Interesting. I wonder what they decided to call it?” Then, the title screen flashes, and that’s when they realize that someone actually stole their title page and logline and changed the word “Santa” to “Teacher.”

Humor! Action! Kat Dennings! Now THIS is a Thor Trailer!

Can we all agree that the Thor marketing materials thus far have been a little less than thrilling? Good. Because now we really have something to look forward to from the Kenneth Branagh-directed Marvel actioner — an epic-scale tent pole set on two worlds with a sense of humor about itself, lots of swirling, hammer-smashing action, fantastical villains and creatures to ogle, and the acknowledged fetishizing of Chris Hemsworth’s abs.
