The Vampire Diaries: 7 Season 7 Spoilers from Comic-Con

Fans must wait all the way until October 8 for the premiere of  The Vampire Diaries Season 7 on The CW. Fortunately, the show's key cast members and producers gathered at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend to provide scoop on the following upcoming storylines: Damon without Elena in his life. Caroline trying to stave off the formation of Staroline. Enzo's big decision. New villains in town. The demise of Mystic Falls as we've known it. Scroll through the following slides to gather up scoop on what will go down this fall on The Vampire Diaries Season 7… 1. A Dark Damon Both Ian Somerhalder and Julie Plec teased that Damon will return to the “sexy, volatile, fun” Damon from Season 1 and 2. Said the producer: “For him, it’s ‘Who am I without this girl right by my side?’ We’re going to see a lot of naughty Damon trying not to be naughty.” 2. Staroline… Not Forever? Plec promises “many unexpected twists and turns” when it comes to Caroline and Stefan’s relationship, as the former will be doing all she can to stave off the formation of Staroline. But it won’t be easy for her. 3. Who’s Going Shirtless? It doesn’t matter much to us, they’re all pretty easy on the eyes, but Plec also teased “shirtless stuff every episode.” 4. Choosing a Side Enzo will have quite a dilemma on his hands when Season 7 opens. “It’s about choosing his allegiance,” Michael Malarkey says. “Does he go with Lily and the Heretics or does he side with Damon? It’s a struggle for him.” Look for a major decision to be made by the end of the premiere. 5. Big and Very Bad Producer Caroline Dries acknowledged how awesome Kai was as a villain on Season 6, but she’s confident the Heretics can maybe surpass him on Season 7: “By bringing in Lily’s family, it’s these six villains who can do magic — and they’re vampires. It’s going to be exciting and gruesome and violence.” 6. RIP, Mystic Falls? Partly through the use of flashbacks and time jumps, we’ll learn how Mystic Falls became the abandoned, polluted town we saw at the end of the Season 6 finale. View Slideshow

17 Television Characters Who Have Fought for Our Independence

These 17 television characters are all former military members. It doesn't get any more patriotic or awe-inspiring than that, does it? For all they have pretended to do on the small screen and for all the values they have pretended to hold, we salute the following vampires, FBI agents, doctors and more. Won't you join us in thanking them for their service? 1. Damon Salvatore (The Vampire Diaries) Damon Salvatore sure knows how to wear a uniform, doesn’t he? The character served his country in multiple wars. We thank him for his service. 2. LJ Gibbs (NCIS) This NCIS leader is a veteran of Desert Storm. He served as a gunnery sergeant in the Marines. 3. Bill Compton (True Blood) In the Civil War, Bill Compton served a soldier for the Louisiana division of the Confederate Army. On the way home, he met Lorena and was turned into a member of the undead. 4. Marcellus Gerard (The Originals) We don’t know his exact combat experience. Nina Dobrev: Out of Work! Regretting Leaving The Vampire Diaries?

A vampire might be immortal. But Nina Dobrev’s career isn’t. It seems that after leaving the show that made her famous this month, Nina might be regretting her decision to bolt The Vampire Diaries . Dobrev had a lead role playing the character Elena on the hit show. But after Nina and Ian Somerhalder split , she decided to leave The Vampire Diaries . The prevailing wisdom, much as she wants to deny it, is that Nina couldn’t deal with Nikki Reed , who was her co-star and Ian’s new wife. On Instagram, Nina shared a pic of herself and Paul Wesley. She captioned it, “In honor of my final episode of The Vampire Diaries , and because it’s Thursday, I’ll be posting a throwback photo every hour on the hour.  She added, “It’s been 6 amazing years…there have been a million great memories. Thank you to everyone who has joined me on this incredibly journey. I love you all.” Could her nostalgia stem from regret? The 26-year-old actress has posted photo after photo reminiscing about The Vampire Diaries . Nina had big dreams of leaving the show to star in a blockbuster film. But so far, that hasn’t happened. And Dobrev is currently unemployed . So it looks like not much is happening in the life of Dobrev right now, except perhaps some wasted time and energy on Instagram. A source recently said that Nina is struggling and that she has come to realize that there are more actress vying for roles than there are movie roles. If things don’t turn around for her soon, she may have to beg for her Vampire Diaries role back … if the show will even have her, that is. View Slideshow: 21 Epic Elena Gilbert GIFs

Scandal Sneak Peek: A Final Goodbye?

Is Thursday night television about to deliver another heartbreaking goodbye? A couple weeks ago, it was McDreamy on  Grey’s Anatomy . This week, we don’t know how, but we do know that Nina Dobrev will exit The Vampire Diaries as Elena Gilbert. And now, courtesy of ABC, we have a sneak peek at Scandal Season 4 Episode 22 – and it doesn’t offer up much up regarding the future of Olivia and Fitz. Scandal Season Finale Clip – Saying Goodbye The scene depicts these star-crossed lovers on the phone, Liv delivering a note of congratulations to the President for passing his latest bill, wishing him luck on Mellie’s election… and then uttering the two words no Scandal viewer wants to hear: Goodbye, Fitz. No forever we can only hope. Nay, pray! The bulk of the Scandal season finale (titled “You Can’t Take Command”) will focus on Olivia and the Gladiators doing whatever it takes to bring down the former’s father. Will Rowan Pope finally see his time come? There’s a farewell we would not mind saying. Not one bit. Not at all. View Slideshow: Scandal Cast Through the Years

The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21 Recap: The Ultimate Wedding Crasher

Whether or not Damon wants to take the cure and become human makes for an incredibly boring storyline. But Damon deciding to take the cure, as he did toward the end of  The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21 , only for Elena to then die at the hands of a returning Kai? Well… that makes us wonder just how quickly next Thursday night can arrive. For the most part, this episode felt like a waste of time. It’s hard to find content that fills any more like filler than multiple scenes wasted on some imaginary terrible human future between Damon and Elena. The Caroline-Stefan talk was pretty lame (come on, who chooses not to be with the person she loves because she wants to keep “control?”) and Jo’s panic attack was really just another waste of time. But things are set up VERY well for  The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 22 . Kai has somehow returned from the 1903 prison world, and he’s appeared to have murdered his sister. It’s unclear whether he’s brought Lily’s Hertic family back with him (it doesn’t look that way), but he’s definitely knocked Matt and Bonnie out cold and, most importantly, he really may have killed Elena. We know Nina Dobrev is leaving The Vampire Diaries, so her character’s death feels like a real possibility. And it would provide a floundering show with the momentum it needs to head into Season 7. Will TVD actually go through with it? The following promo for “I’m Thinking of You All the While” certainly implies Elena is a goner, wouldn’t you say? The Vampire Diaries Season Finale Promo Go ahead and watch The Vampire Diaries online to relive this installment and to prepare yourself for what may be a tear-jerking finale. To say the very least. The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 Recap: Cure… All?

The Vampire Diaries isn’t exactly heading into its Season 6 finale with a great deal of momentum. Does anyone out there really care whether or not Damon takes The Cure? It feels like a contrived storyline because we know Nina Dobrev is leaving , so making her human (as actually did take place on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 ) was the easiest way for the show to go about it Now Elena can either die (which would be awesome, giving Damon quite the guilt complex heading into Season 7) or simply leave Mystic Falls to start a new life elsewhere (by far the most likely scenario). Watch The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 20 Online But Damon? Come on. We know he won’t take The Cure and hearing him constantly express his love for Elena has grown very old. Moreover, this story has been done before. The series itself even acknowledged that fact via flashback tonight. So, no, we can’t say that Damon suffering through some kind of existential crisis is edge-of-your-seat, season-ending suspense type of stuff. Lily Salvatore has been a solid addition, however. Her disdain for Stefan is fascinating to watch, as it both tugs at our heartstrings (poor Stefan) and also makes us scared for what sort of wrath she and her Heretic friends have in store. We all know Kai will somehow lead them out of 1903 (after they finish his delicious breakfast, that is). As for Alaric and Jo, Matt was right even before the latter learned she was having twins who would become the target of his her coven: they have no reason to stick around and every reason to leave. Go someplace far away, Alaric, Protect your family. We’ll see the marriage actually take place on The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 21 (teased below), though whether these two will live happily ever after is anyone’s guess.
