‘Snow White’ actress tells MTV News how she ‘stalked’ director Rupert Wyatt after hearing about the sci-fi adaptation. She received critical acclaim for her role in “Young Adult,” where she played an unstable woman intent on winning back her married high school sweetheart. Now she’s working on a project with “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” director Rupert Wyatt called “Agent 13,” in which she’ll reportedly play another femme fatale. When MTV News caught up with the “Snow White and the Huntsman” actress, she revealed how the sci-fi project came together. “It’s a pitch that I heard a month or so ago and I fell in love with this pitch,” she said. “And ironically, at the same time, I really wanted to have a general [meeting] — ’cause you know how I stalk directors — with Rupert ’cause I really love what he’s been doing. I brought up the pitch to him and he said, ‘I really love this. I think we should talk about it.’ And so it was really just the universe coming together.” “Agent 13” is an adaptation of a 1988 comic book that follows an organization called the Brotherhood, which comprises survivors of the lost civilization of Lemuria. The title character was kidnapped by the Brotherhood as a young boy and trained to be one of their top spies. When Agent 13 realizes the group has been corrupted, though, he sets off to take them down. Fans are speculating that Theron will play one of the agent’s two sidekicks — his seductive lover, China White, or his beautiful, devoted assistant Maggie Darr — but the actress isn’t sure which character she’ll play. “You know, we’re writing it right now so it’s a very, very loose pitch,” she said, “but it’s an alternate world story so it’s big and epic and cool.” With the Wyatt project still in its early stages, fans can get their fill of evil Theron as the wicked Queen Ravenna in “Snow White” when it opens on June 1. Her character’s cruel nature, she said, gave her license to act like a jerk between takes. “I’m like yelling for sandwiches and coffee,” she joked. “And then, Chris [Hemsworth] comes by and he’s like, ‘You’re not shooting right now, Charlize!’ And I say, ‘Your head on a silver platter!’ And he says, ‘No, you’re not the queen right now.’ And then it crushes me, and I cry, and I deal with it.” While Theron hasn’t ruled out playing the nice girl, she teasingly said that for now she takes on the roles most familiar to her. “I stick with what I’m good at,” she said, laughing. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal An exclusive, never-before-seen clip from the upcoming film ” Snow White and the Huntsman ” kicked off “MTV First” by teasing an epic showdown between Kristen Stewart ‘s titular princess and Charlize Theron ‘s Evil Queen Ravenna. As thrilling as the sneak preview might have been, it left fans dying to know what happens when the two enemies finally do square off when the film hits theaters June 1. The clip does give a little more insight into the beef between Ravenna and Snow White: Obviously, the Queen wants to be fairest of them all, but the death of Snow White’s father certainly adds an emotional element to the bout. In the scene, we learn that the Queen is responsible. When MTV News’ Josh Horowitz spoke with Theron at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in January, the Academy Award-winning actress seemed impressed with her co-stars fighting spirit. “She was a good fight,” Theron shared. “The bitch brought it!” Even though Theron was able to put up a fight against Stewart, she was no match for her unwieldy costumes , which might have done more damage. “The costumes were more damaging than the actual fight sequences,” she explained. “I was way more bruised from my costume than I was from [fighting]. Doing a fight sequence in your sweatpants is different than wearing an 80-pound steel thing.” At the very least, Theron could commiserate with her co-star. “[Stewart] was in full metal, I was in full metal, just getting down, it took us four hours,” Theron said. While Drake had already had a career on the small screen on “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” it was his rap game that would solidify him as an international star. Just as Drizzy was trying to carve out his path in the world of hip-hop several years ago, Bieber began posting videos on YouTube under the moniker KidRauhl. Somewhere along the way, the two got famous and became besties. And now, as Bieber nears the June 19 release of his new album, Believe, he explained what it’s like to traverse the sometimes murky waters of celebrity with his friend by his side. “I mean, it’s crazy because we both are kind of going on the same journey on different sides of the world,” the pop star told MTV News. “I think it’s so cool because we kind of both get what each other go through and he’s able to give me different pieces of advice and I’m able to tell him how to treat a lady. I’m just kidding.” While both have gained tons of fame and fortune, back in 2009 the hype around these two Canadians was at a fevered pitch. Bieber was readying the release of his buzzy debut, My World, and Drake was dropping his star-making EP, So Far Gone. While some have come and gone in the years since, the excitement hasn’t quieted down around Bieber and Drake. In fact, as both performers gain more and more momentum in their careers, it seems their friendship has only grown stronger. For Bieber’s next album, the pals decided to take their friendship to the next level with a collaboration . “We talk about everything,” Bieber said of their recording session. “He’s a great guy and super-talented, and his melodies are crazy. When we go into the studio, he’ll go in the booth and he’ll do some melodies and we’ll write. If I’m in the studio there’s not really any time to mess around. It’s always different, but always [there to] get the work done.” Bieber confirmed that the Drake collaboration definitely made the cut and that he’s still working on getting already-recorded collaborations with romantic rival Kanye West , Usher and Taylor Swift on the album as well. With just a few more hours to wait until “MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman,” starting tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV, here’s a little sneak peek of Theron talking about those highly anticipated fight sequences and the surprising culprit responsible for her on-set bruises. “The costumes were more damaging than the actual fight sequences,” Theron revealed. “I was way more bruised from my costume than I was from [fighting with Stewart]. Ridley Scott ’s Alien prequel Prometheus made the biggest impression on the geek faithful Saturday at WonderCon , where glimpses into the film’s set-up and ensuing space shenanigans were revealed in a new two-and-a-half minute trailer for the sci-fi action film. The trailer (not to be confused with the more truncated one-minute teaser that leaked yesterday ) offered more hints at spoilers and narrative threads for fans to try to piece together, not to mention some very interesting new imagery – but how much do Prometheus -watchers really want to know? [Spoiler alert, obviously.] That’s the intriguing question ahead as Fox carefully disseminates more and more information about Prometheus and the mysterious story it contains. On the one hand, Friday’s teaser and Saturday’s WonderCon trailer still only comprise a series of (admittedly awesome) shots and snippets of scenes, seemingly key dialogue, and ominous soundscapes, leaving most of the plot and potential reveals up to a viewer to piece together. But the more we see of Prometheus , the more these sparse rations of information add up into a jumble that almost feels like too much information. After presenting the new trailer, which you can watch below, Scott, co-writer Damon Lindelof, and stars Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender answered a handful of Twitter questions before making their way backstage, where the group (minus Theron, who stayed behind to attend her Snow White and the Huntsman panel) fueled even more Prometheus speculation. Here are the nine most provocative, intriguing, maybe-spoilery and potentially revealing clues the Prometheus filmmakers spilled at WonderCon. [Trailer screengrabs via 20th Century Fox] 1. New trailer, new clues Prometheus ’s setup is revealed in the new trailer, which shows Noomi Rapace ’s scientist-heroine Elizabeth Shaw and Logan Marshall-Green’s Holloway presenting evidence of a startling new discovery: Multiple ancient civilizations have been found which all use the same mysterious pictograms – and Shaw believes those symbols are an invitation sent by an unknown entity to seek out their makers, prompting the crew of the Prometheus to depart into space on their journey. That seemingly leads our heroes to a planet where their probes discover life forms. Which somehow leads to this: Is that… a baby facehugger being extracted from close quarters with Shaw, prior to the hallway-stumbling in LeeLoo-style skivvies glimpsed in the trailers? — 2. The devil is in the dialogue Consider two key quotes that bookend the trailer. The first, spoken by Theron as the icy corporate tool Meredith Vickers: “A king has his reign and then he dies… it’s inevitable.” And the last, uttered by Fassbender as David, the ship’s android servant: “Big things have small beginnings.” Now also consider Theron’s response to the last fan question of the day: What does Michael Fassbender smell like? “Musk and chilies… sometimes mixed in with a little mint.” — 3. Speaking of the trailer, WTF?? — 4. Fassbender rumors: True or false? Selecting a few questions sent in via Twitter to answer onstage, Lindelof picked one burning question that fans have been dying to know. “There are rumors on the net that Fassbender gives birth to mankind in the movie,” he read. “Are these rumors true? “Absolutely,” answered Fassbender with a coy Mona Lisa smile. Was he serious? Hard to say. Did Lindelof just randomly pick that one Twitter question out of many to address onstage with a non-answer? Another mystery to add to the list. — 5. Is Prometheus really just a story about a guy looking for love? During the panel, Lindelof joked with Theron and Fassbender. Given the film’s mysterious nature, how do they explain to friends and family what Prometheus is? “I told them it was a romantic comedy, so they’re going to be shocked,” quipped Theron. Fassbender agreed, describing his character David – an android with lifelike human qualities, a la Bishop – as “just a guy trying to find love in all the wrong places.” —
