The Transportation Security Administration don’t play that Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Involved In TSA Security Investigation According to TMZ reports : Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are at the center of a TSA investigation following a major security violation at JFK yesterday … but the TSA tells TMZ Kimye is NOT to blame. We’ve learned … K&K had taken a flight from Brazil to JFK on Tuesday, where the plan was to catch a connecting flight to Los Angeles. But once they landed in NY, the couple met up with an airline greeter … who, according to the TSA, allowed them to bypass a key security checkpoint to get them to their next flight as quickly as possible. After Kim and Kanye took their seats on the L.A.-bound plane … a TSA agent yanked them off the flight … and made K&K go through another layer of security. We’re told the plane was delayed for roughly an hour while the couple was screened by TSA agents. TSA claims that KimYe was not at fault for the security breach. “An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” “In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to by-pass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway.” “The passengers were cleared to board their flight, which departed after a delay of approximately 50 minutes. TSA is actively investigating the incident.” The couple ultimately touched down in L.A. … where they were greeted by a gaggle of paparazzi … but seemed incredibly calm considering all they had been through. Gay White Student Examines Similarities Between Struggles With Racism And Homophobia A gay white male student recently shared his thoughts on the similarities between being a black person dealing with racism and being a gay white person dealing with homophobia. via Huffington Post Mainstream gay culture privileges the white narrative, and it does so at the expense of its own legitimacy. As Baldwin understands and so eloquently states, the fight against homophobia and racism are undoubtedly entwined through their shared struggle for human dignity. However, conflating the two does discernible harm, both to those persons of color who are repeatedly forgotten in progressive social movements, and to white LGBTQ persons who tarnish their own humanity by forgetting the humanity of others. In one of the most interesting excerpts from the piece, the student examines Baldwin’s point that white gay citizens often feel slighted because society teaches them that they are entitled to ‘white privelege’ and therefore supposed to be protected from bias and hatred. Baldwin explains that white LGBTQ men and women feel slighted precisely because they know that had they been straight, they would have been heirs to incomparable privilege. In a 1984 interview with Richard Goldstein, then the editor of the Village Voice, Baldwin said, “I think white gay people feel cheated because they were born, in principle, in a society in which they were supposed to be safe. The anomaly of their sexuality puts them in danger, unexpectedly.” He went on to say: Their reaction seems to me in direct proportion to their sense of feeling cheated of the advantages which accrue to white people in a white society. There’s an element, it has always seemed to me, of bewilderment and complaint. Now that may sound very harsh, but the gay world as such is no more prepared to accept black people than anywhere else in society. He concludes the write up with the thought that although strides are being made with gay rights, they will never be the same as the struggles with racism. As we celebrate Black History Month this February, and as we await the Supreme Court’s decision on marriage equality, we must remember that the struggle to restore dignity to people is not finished. The work to ensure that all people have access to fair and equitable employment, health care and proper medical attention and aren’t targets for violence by the police or their fellow community members must continue even after gays and lesbians are granted the right to marry the persons they love. This is not a new civil rights movement as some have said but a different one. Baldwin’s legacy teaches me, as a white person and an LGBTQ activist, that gay will never be the new black, and that the fight for racial equality is far from over.

Rihanna showed her support for Chris Brown yet again, as the singer faces concerns from the L.A. district attorney that he may have falsified his community service records. Via Page Six reports : Rihanna is standing by the man who savagely beat her. The pretty songstress strolled into a Los Angeles courthouse today with boyfriend Chris Brown, who is accused of falsifying records of his community labor. Rihanna arrived at the downtown courthouse by Brown’s side, and then blew him a kiss before he entered the courtroom first. She sat by Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, in the courtroom gallery during this afternoon’s brief hearing. A judge didn’t immediately rule on prosecution claims that Brown faked his court-ordered community labor. Brown and Rihanna left the courthouse together, surrounded by their entourage. The rage-filled singer, who became infamous after beating up Rihanna in 2009, was sentenced to 180 days — or 1,440 hours — after pleading guilty to felony assault. He did 581 hours in Los Angeles, but was then allowed to do the rest of his time in his native Virginia. Brown claimed to have finished his sentence back home, but LA prosecutors said there’s no proof he did the work. “There’s no credible, competent or verifiable evidence that . . . Brown performed his community labor as represented to the court,” according to LA Deputy DA Mary Murray. The DA wants all of Brown’s Virginia hours thrown out and for him to be sent back to work in LA. On several days Brown allegedly worked in Virginia, he was out of of the state, prosecutors said. Judge James Brandlin said he wanted more time to review the DA’s claims. He ordered Brown to meet with a LA County probation officer within the next 48 hours and detail the work the singer claims to have done in Virginia. Sounds like RihRih put on quite a show. We hope that Breezy appreciates her sticking by him — but something about this couple’s strange dynamic has us wondering if there is still some manipulation going on behind the scenes. Rapper Trina Says ‘Other’ Women Can Steal Men If They Already Want To Leave Earlier this week during the latest episode of the “Tiny Tonight” talk show on VH1, rapper Trina openly opposed the idea that homewreckin’ thirst buckets can ‘steal’ a man away from the woman that he is committed to without there already being problems present in the relationship. The topic came up when all four ladies on the show began discussing their favorite celebrity couples and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s names were mentioned. During the discussion, Tiny said that she felt Angelina stole Brad from his then-wife Jennifer Aniston and Tamar co-signed….but Trina stepped in to pump the breaks. She took to her Twitter shortly after the show aired to reiterate her thoughts on it all: So, let’s get it into ladies (and gents can weigh in too). Following CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, during which Kathy Griffen feigned oral sex on Anderson Cooper, the organization has come out with harsh words for the comedian and network. Kathy Griffin Fakes Oral Sex on Anderson Cooper Griffin “has shown increasing contempt for the audience,” PTC President Tim Winter said in a statement, adding that “the onus is now on CNN…. “Either the network has a policy that allows its on-air talent to fondle a co-anchor’s genitals, or it has a policy that forbids such conduct.” What about the fact that the incident didn’t take place until after midnight? Parents Television Council Slams CNN, Kathy Griffin for Faux Job
Patti Page, a legend in the world of music who recorded 50 albums throughout her career, died yesterday in California. She was 85 years old. Page started singing way back in 1947, becoming the first successful artist for Mercury Records. She’ll likely be remembered most for the tracks “Tennessee Waltz” and “(How Much Is That) Doggie in the Window.” The artist achieved 19 gold singles and 14 platinum singles over the course of an impressive career, while also starring on her own TV show. In 1979, Page was earned the Pioneer Award by the Academy of Country Music and she inducted into the Grammy Awards Hall of Fame nine years later. The singer is survived by her son, Daniel O’Curran, daughter, Kathleen Ginn and sister, Peggy Layton. We send them our thoughts and prayers.

Wow, I cannot believe I am finally able to write one of these things. I used to be so envious of all the other girls who were able to write Bieber experiences. Now I am one of those beliebers. My Bieber fan journey started way back in October 2009. Justin meant the world to me and I spent the majority of my time watching his videos, looking at pictures, and talking to my Twitter friends. Without going into detail, I tried multiple times to see Justin live. I was never able to. Finally, when the Believe tour dates came out, my mom finally allowed me to get tickets. However, Ticketmaster failed me. I was used to the let down. I, yet again, wouldn’t be seeing Justin Bieber live in concert. As October came around, I realized there was a month until Justin’s concert in New Jersey. I had to get to that concert. I asked my mom numerous times and hinted to let me buy tickets off Stubhub (or wait outside the venue with the hopes of getting tickets from Alfredo, Allison, Scooter, etc.). The concert was on Friday, November 9. My mom finally agreed to buying tickets off Stubhub the Tuesday before the concert. On Wednesday, my dad said he’d bring my friend and I. I was so beyond happy. I was finally going to see Justin Bieber live. It was going to be from nosebleed seats, but with complete honesty I did not care one bit. All I had to do was buy the tickets Thursday night and I would be seeing my idol live, finally. On Thursday at 4:07 p.m., I tweeted “Absolutely nothing could ruin my mood. NOTHING.” Thursday at 4:30 was when everything changed. Thirty minutes before I was going to purchase tickets, a FedEx man arrived at my house with an envelope. It was addressed to me. I was clueless as to what it was, but I opened it. All there was inside was a yellow paper folded in thirds. I was so confused. Until I saw tickets sticking out of the paper. I pull the tickets out and all I see is ”JUSTIN BIEBER, IZOD CENTER” and I completely freaked out! I had no idea how or why or where I got these tickets from. It was a miracle, a gift from God. I looked at the yellow paper and it said “Ubisoft Just Dance to Justin Sweepstakes- CONGRATULATIONS!” I started pacing around the room saying oh my God a thousand times. My older sister was sitting there watching this whole thing unfold. She looked at the paper and said, “Mary, you didn’t read this whole thing.” I looked at the paper and saw ”Meet and Greet” and that is when I lost it. I was shaking and crying. I had no idea what to do. This was a miracle. I checked my email for a Congratulations email. And there was one I received 6 days beforehand saying that I had to respond by November 5 or I forfeit the prize. The reason I didn’t see the email is because I was out of power for 10 days (October 29 til November 7) from Hurricane Sandy. I emailed them that and they completely understood and said my prize was definitely still valid. Wow, this is really happening. A week before I was nervous as hell about asking my mom if I could get tickets. Two days before I didn’t even have tickets. But then out of no where, I was going to MEET Justin Bieber. I was going to meet my idol. We got to the venue around 3:20 and eventually got our wristbands to meet Justin. We “had” to be in a group of 6 so we asked these 4 other ladies to join us. It turned out they were apart of the marketing team for Justin’s perfume. They were so awesome and sent my friend and I both 6 bottles of perfume including Someday and Girlfriend! After waiting on line to meet Justin for a little while, it was our turn next. My friend and I were freaking out. I could not believe Justin Bieber was right behind that black curtain. Kenny was standing there and I managed to say ”Hi Kenny!” and Kenny said “Hey, how you doing?” As soon as Kenny pulled back that black curtain and I saw Justin for the first time ever, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I can’t even explain the thoughts running through my head. I know everyone says this, but he looked absolutely FLAWLESS. I could not fathom the fact that I was seeing in person the boy I’ve been a fan of for so long, the boy in the posters on my wall, and the boy I’ve watched thousands of videos of. Justin held out his arms for us to get next to him. I don’t even know how, but I said hi to Justin and then said- ”This is my first time seeing you in 3 years.” And he looked down at me and said “This is MY first time seeing you in 3 years.” Basically, my heart melted. We took the picture. And as the rest of my group was leaving I said, ”Can I have a hug?” and Justin said, “Yeah, here!” We hugged and then I walked out. It was the greatest experience of my life and I am truly, truly blessed that my dream came true. We eventually got to our seats and man, we were sooo close. I yet again could not believe I was finally seeing Justin Bieber in concert that closely. It was absolutely perfect. Saying Justin put on an amazing show is an understatement. He’s a fantastic performer and I cannot wait to see him live again. Honestly, to all Beliebers trying to meet Justin or get tickets, NEVER SAY NEVER! I don’t know a more true saying than that. You just have to wait for your time to come, and it will. I waited for 3 years! I cried so many times because I couldn’t see him. But finally, all my tears and dedication has paid off. I figured meeting him would never happen, at least not any time soon, so I settled for finally seeing him live. I never in a million years thought I would be able to say, ”I JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER.” I lived my dream and it was the greatest, most magical experience ever. Trust me, your time will come. Always believe, always fight for what you want, and always never say never. And to Justin- Thank you for being you. Thank you for teaching me and all your fans to never say never and to believe in our dreams. Because of the incredible experience I had, I truly know what you mean by “never say never.” It still doesn’t feel real or like it happened. Thank you for being the biggest inspiration out there. You’re a fantastic role model, a great person, and super talented. Thank you for everything. Even for things I cannot explain. I love you so much. For Christmas my siblings got me tickets to see Justin again on July 31. I know it won’t compare to my experience in November, but I cannot wait.
