‘My Life As Liz’ Star Reveals Link To ‘American Idol’ Winner Kelly Clarkson

‘Idol Party Live’ guest Liz Lee went to same high school as Clarkson and says ‘there’s a trophy case dedicated to her.’ By Kelley L. Carter Liz Lee Photo: MTV News So would Liz Lee, the star of MTV’s popular series “My Life as Liz” ever audition for “American Idol”? Not a chance. Lee was a guest on MTV News’ brand-new weekly interactive online series, “Idol Party Live,” which kicked off on Thursday night (March 3) after the live results telecast of “American Idol” . The reality-TV star, who joined our “Idol” expert/host Jim Cantiello and EW.com “Idol” writer Annie Barrett, said she’d be too terrified to try out. But Lee made an interesting revelation on the live stream. The Fort Worth, Texas, native hails from the same small town as season-one “Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson. “Kelly Clarkson went to my high school. I didn’t know her. I think my sister was friends with a friend who knew her. They’re all friends with someone who’s acquainted with her. There’s a whole trophy case dedicated to her,” Lee said. And who are Lee’s favorites so far this season? She’s leaning toward the quirky, nerdy types, she said, but has her eye on one contestant in particular: Casey Abrams . “I like the Seth Rogen-y, quirky, [guy],” she said. “Like, I would hang out with this guy. I would play video games with this guy. He’s like my friend Sully. He’s a Sully. It’s like a complete transformation. He’s cute, nerdy, quirky Seth Rogen, and then he turns into this Antonio Banderas, attractive, mysterious thing. It’s incredible — on a dime.” “Idol Party Live” airs every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, immediately following the “American Idol” results show, and Cantiello and a special celeb guest will be on-hand to do a post-wrap on all things “Idol.” They’ve even promised some karaoke! Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On The Floor’ Video Bows On ‘American Idol’

The ‘Idol’ judge’s sultry dance clip premiered during Thursday’s first results show. By Kelley L. Carter Jennifer Lopez in her “On The Floor” video Photo: MTV News With just about 10 minutes left on “American Idol” Thursday (March 3), Jennifer Lopez debuted her new music video, “On the Floor.” The clip was cued up right as suspense built up over who the judges would grant second-chance passes. The single marks the first time Lopez has hit the Billboard top 10 since her 2003 #1 track “All I Have.” The new song, featuring Pitbull, debuted at #9 on Billboard Hot 100. Dressed in a glittery, gold outfit, Lopez is seen in several long shots, dangling lazily on a couch. Between shots of the Miami rapper, the video returns to scenes of Lopez dressed in a sexy, skintight catsuit dancing in front of a gold cardio barre. “If you’re an animal, tear up the floor,” she sings, giving the camera her fiercest gaze and moving her shoulders aggressively. “Don’t stop, keep it moving/ Put your drinks up.” The video set looks like the kind of lounge-y nightclub that you’d find in one of the exotic locations that she shouts out in the song, one that only caters to a VIP clientele. In another scene, Lopez is wearing a bikini top when she makes her way to the center of a stage and breaks it down “fly-girl” style. In still another shot, the star’s mane is piled on top of her head, very elegantly as she sexily implores everyone to dance the night away and spend it on the floor. Lil Wayne Responds To Alleged Jay-Z ‘H.A.M.’ Dis

Weezy’s ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ video premieres Thursday at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Lil Wayne and Sway Photo: MTV News Five years ago, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne were trading lyrical jabs like Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj do these days. Their war of words, however, seemed to subside when the iconic Brooklyn rapper invited the Cash Money superstar to join him on “Hello Brooklyn 2.0,” from 2007’s American Gangster. But things seemed to become chilly again when Birdman compared Hov and Weezy, saying his artist is a better rapper and has more money. In January, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “H.A.M.” arrived via Facebook, and fans wondered whether Jay was taking shots at Wayne on the track. “N—as fantasize about the sh– that I do daily/ Like these rappers rap about all the sh– that I do daily,” Jay spits on the number. “I’m like really, half a billi, n—a, really you got Baby money/ Keep it real with n—as, n—as ain’t got my lady money.” According to Weezy, who heard the track personally through West, he isn’t looking to start another competition with Jay. Wayne told MTV News that he didn’t ask ‘Ye about the alleged dig: “I wouldn’t ask him about a Jay-Z line because he’s not Jay-Z.” That doesn’t mean Wayne wouldn’t respond to the line, even if he hasn’t returned fire just yet. “Me and my wit, given my wit, I would probably play off of it,” Wayne explained. “But I wouldn’t make it a competition, because actually, the subject that he’s talking about in that line, I can’t box with the card. I’d be the first one to tell you that, given my wit, and the type of person that I am, I’d capitalize and I’d play off of it. Yeah, I definitely would.” The New Orleans rapper is putting the final touches on his next studio album — and his first project since his release from prison — Tha Carter IV. But first, Wayne is set to premiere his video for “6 Foot 7 Foot” on MTV this Thursday at 7:54 p.m. Related Videos Lil Wayne Ready To Drop ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ Related Artists Lil Wayne Jay-Z
