Justin Bieber Debuts New ‘Never Say Never’ Poster

Teen sensation is shown between his Canadian hometown and the big city in movie poster. By Kara Warner The “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” movie poster Photo: Paramount Pictures As most of Justin Bieber ‘s die-hard fans already know, the movie event of February is quickly approaching. Bieber’s first full-length feature film, “Never Say Never,” hits theaters in about three weeks, on February 11, just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend. MTV News has been keeping up with the Biebs since he announced plans for the big-screen project back in August. On Monday (January 24), Paramount Pictures released a new poster for the film, which shows the 16-year-old standing tall in the middle of a street, seemingly stuck between two worlds — on the left side is his hometown of Stratford in Ontario, Canada, which is shown in black-and-white, with a sign in the background that reads “Population: 32,000”; on the right side, Bieber is standing next to the crowded New York City skyline, which is depicted in full color. The “Baby” singer is shown dressed in all black, including a black jacket that zips up off-center, black jeans and black, unlaced high-tops. The tagline reads: “Find out what’s possible if you never give up.” It’s a nice change from the first poster , which just showed Bieber’s profile and that famous, perfectly side-swept hair, partially hidden by a hoodie. It’s interesting that the “big city” shown in the new poster is New York City, however, rather than Atlanta, where Bieber moved when he was just starting out after signing with manager Scooter Braun and linking up with ATL superstar Usher. Also worth noting are two new clips and partial trailers from the movie, called “Every Stage” and “Underdog,” respectively. Both clips show a few adorable home videos of Bieber learning to play the drums around age 3, followed by shots of what his life is like now, including screaming fans, huge sold-out concerts, his friendship with Usher, etc. What do you think of the new poster and videos? Here’s Your First Look at Angelina Jolie’s Untitled Bosnian Love Story

Well, your first look that doesn’t include some mystery Rachel Dratch lookalike . Favorite Hungarian newspaper Vasarnapi Hirek had a story about Angelina Jolie’s controversial directorial debut in its pages this weekend, including a first look at stars Zana Marjanović and Goran Kostic. Said Jolie: “It’s shot in color, but it could transfer to black and white. We haven’t decided that.” Also undecided: Whether or not the film will be released in English. Start pre-ordering your tickets now! Or just click ahead and check out the very ultra-serious image.

Linkin Park Bring A Thousand Suns To Life In New York

Band plays first show in nearly two years hours after new album hit stores. By James Montgomery Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington performs at Best Buy Theater on Tuesday Photo: Cory Schwartz/ Getty Images Over the past few months, or really, years, Linkin Park fans have been subjected to an unending stream of talk that the band’s new album would be a departure from their hard-riffing roots, instead forging heady, darn-near conceptual new territory from which there was no return. Early reviews of A Thousand Suns only seemed to confirm all that chatter, and it appeared that the Linkin Park of old was gone forever, that the once-snarling Dobermans had been replaced with a group of bespectacled Mr. Peabodys . And this was not good. But those fears can be put to rest. Because on Tuesday night — hours after that new album, A Thousand Suns, hit stores — Linkin Park played their first show in nearly two years (or, as Chester Bennington put it, “two f—ing years”) at the Best Buy Theater in New York. And though the tickets for the show prominently displayed the new album’s name, there was little of its calculated, claustrophobic conceptualism on display. Rather, this was a balls-out rock show, with some rapping and electronic frippery thrown in for additional impact. Or, in other words, it was just like a Linkin Park show of old. In fact, the band played just a handful of tracks from A Thousand Suns, peppering them in throughout a hit-packed, pummeling set. They opened with “The Requiem,” the first track on the album, which featured Mike Shinoda and DJ Joseph Hahn lit in moody silhouette, the former hunched over a synthesizer, repeating — in robo-coated vocals — the de facto mantra of Suns (“God bless us everyone/ We’re a broken people living under loaded gun”) with the latter providing ethereal harmonies. That washed into the sampled Robert Oppenheimer speech from the album, and then, the band now at full force, LP backtracked gloriously, hammering through older tracks like “New Divide,” “Faint,” “No More Sorrow” and “Given Up.” Those were met with thunderous cheers and a sea of fists thrust skyward, and with enough goodwill built up, the band worked the second Suns track into the set, the booming, rattling “Wretches and Kings,” which saw Shinoda and Bennington trade vocals and had the audience nodding along to the gut-punching beat. After a quick “thank you” — their first words to the audience all night — LP threw themselves into “Numb,” and then slowed things down exponentially with another new tune, “Iridescent,” which built slowly and solemnly on a Shinoda-played piano line and was met with a mixture of rapt attention and angry indifference, though most of that came from the tank-top-and-backward-ball-cap aggro set (and, it should be noted, the song climaxed pretty amazingly, with the band going five-wide on the chorus and the guitars soaring to the ceiling). The rest of the set played out in much that same fashion: The older stuff pummeled, peaked and powered (“Numb,” “Bleed It Out,” “In the End”), the new songs soared and stuttered and, yes, slightly mystified (“Burning in the Skies,” “Waiting for the End”), and it was pretty clear that A Thousand Suns was probably going to take a while to win some of the fans over. But, as Shinoda told MTV News last weekend, that’s sort of the point, really. And, perhaps to soothe those still hoping for a return to their Hybrid Theory days, Linkin Park opened their encore with current single “The Catalyst,” which, on this night, was cranked to the max and actually featured a good deal of chugging guitars (Bennington sang the hell out of it too). And then they closed with “What I’ve Done,” the first single off their last album that ticked off fans, Minutes to Midnight. And it’s worth noting that, in the three years since it was released, something rather amazing has happened to the song: It’s become a fan favorite, ranking right up there with their earlier, snarling stuff. There probably wasn’t intent behind the decision to close with it, but it’s not too hard to make the logical leap: Give the new songs time too, and see what happens. Patience is a virtue, after all. Kelly Cutrone Reveals Her Favorite ‘Hills’ Moments

‘I didn’t even know what ‘The Hills’ was,’ ‘City’ star reveals about her season one appearance on the show. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV With the series finale of “The Hills” set to take place on July 13, it’s time to reflect on some of the show’s greatest moments. Whether it’s the time Lauren Conrad first stepped into her apartment with Heidi Montag or what is certain to be an emotional final scene on the show, “The Hills” has had fans glued to their TV screens week after week for six seasons. For a while, People’s Revolution head honcho Kelly Cutrone was part of the madness. Now one of the stars of “The City,” Cutrone admits there are a couple of standout moments from her time on the show that are her favorites in its storied history. It was the moment Cutrone met LC for the first time at the Jennifer Nicholson fashion show during Fashion Week. And it was a moment that Cutrone made her future employee cry when she didn’t comply with getting LC tickets for her Teen Vogue boss Lisa Love. Cutrone is now able to laugh about the whole experience. “I didn’t even know what ‘The Hills’ was,” Cutrone recalled about being featured in the season-one finale. “But I knew this girl was coming. It took her a while to realize [I was the woman she was supposed to get the tickets from at the show]. And I think I made her cry. “It’s one of my favorite moments. I wasn’t happy that she was crying. That look was kind of Betty Davis, Tammy Faye. It’s the ultimate pop-culture drama-girl moment,” she recalled. And Cutrone’s list would not be complete without her now infamous job interview with Stephanie Pratt . “I was walking into the L.A. office, Pratt’s there, and she’s sitting on the couch [looking scared],” she remembered. “[Lauren explained,] ‘She’s just really nervous to meet you.’ Not to be mean, but it was probably one of the least exciting interviews. The first thing I notice is [her] objective. It says ‘to become a handbag designer.’ ” How does Cutrone feel about that objective now? “I’ve never seen anything like that,” she said. “Why would you put that?” Which of Kelly Cutrone’s ‘Hills’ moments is your favorite?
