Britney Spears Talks Filming ‘Grimy’ ‘Till The World Ends’ Video

Singer opens up about the Ray Kay-directed video in ‘I Am the Femme Fatale’ MTV special. By Jocelyn Vena, with additional reporting by Sway Calloway Britney Spears Photo: MTV News & Docs Britney Spears took fans behind the scenes on her music video shoot for her second Femme Fatale single, “Till the World Ends,” in her MTV special, “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” The video was shot in a dank basement somewhere in Los Angeles. Spears and her dancers don rocking post-apocalyptic black clothing, with Spears dancing around in a studded black leather jacket and a sexy black bodysuit. In the special, Spears is seen watching the playback on the Ray Kay-directed video. “[I watched it] just to make sure it’s right and that the costume looks right and the dancers are together and we all look in unison,” she explained. “It’s an energy and it looks fresh. It has a certain vibe with it and it makes sense.” This marks nearly the 40th music video Spears has made in her career. And these days, she says she is just looking to have a good time. When asked if she feels she needs to top herself with every project, she responded, “Not really. I feel like I’ve made so many videos that I’m at the point that I genuinely want to enjoy myself, and I have such a good team of people with me … we just have fun.” As much fun as shooting a video can be, it’s also a lot of work. At one point during the making of “Till the World Ends,” Spears wanted nothing more than a quick break. “The set was a little much. It was grimy and gross and it felt like there was poop everywhere when there wasn’t,” she recalled. “It was sweat and it was disgusting sometimes … [I] tough it out,” she laughed. Another sticking point during the shoot was the discomfort Spears felt while dancing around in heels. “It hurts … but it looks good,” she said, adding that sometimes she changes into Uggs. “It wasn’t a full-length shot, so a girl’s about comfort when it’s not showing.” At the end of the day though, the video was a lot more fun than work to shoot. “It was a lot of fun. I had never worked with Ray Kay before. I was really happy with the work we did,” she said. I’m sending a pigeon or something, even a text message.” For his debut, The Hard Way Musical, the G.O.O.D. Music artist is already a few songs in. “My album is a lot of storytelling. It’s heartfelt, but at the same time it’s hip-hop to the T,” he said of the collection. ” Royal Flush is more so the different parts of me, but my album is gonna be more the story of me.” Other Heat This Week

B.o.B Goes After Tyler, The Creator In ‘No Future’

Bobby Ray’s track comes in response to Odd Future MC’s ‘Yonkers’ dig. By Jayson Rodriguez B.o.B Photo: Frank Mullen Not everyone is amused by the antics of Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator. B.o.B took aim at the upstart on Friday (March 25) with a fiery dis track titled “No Future,” a response to a line the California rapper issued on his breakout “Yonkers.” “What you think of Hayley Williams?/ F— her, Wolf Haley robbing ’em,” Tyler raps on the song. “I’ll crash that f—ing airplane that that f—-t n—a B.o.B is in/ And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus.” The line is characteristic of Tyler and his crew’s shocking rhymes; the collective are, in part, inspired by Eminem and works like his Relapse album with its slew of serial-killer references. The “Airplanes” star, however, isn’t a fan. “If I was you I would be a little more cautious,” Bobby Ray raps on “No Future.” “I’m way too high for you to look at/ The future ain’t looking promising for these rookies/ This is target practice but I don’t even pull the f—ing trigger anymore, ’cause it’s just a waste of bullets/ Come and get this pu—, wipe them off the floor/ I’m guessing they was hoping for some different results/ I’m guessing they was guessing ’cause they wasn’t really sure/ But f— it, I guess I’mma have to let these n—-s know. “Keep f—ing with me, you ain’t gon have no future,” he concludes. Tyler responded via Twitter. Perhaps taking the high road after driving too close to the edge, the 20-year-old wrote that he didn’t think “No Future” was a dis track. He even gave B.o.B props on the rhyme. “Whoa,” he wrote in his first message. “I don’t think the ‘No Future’ song is even a diss. But I’ve never heard him spit like that. Took me by surprise, cus it’s tight.” A second message took a swipe at producer Alex Da Kid over “Airplanes” and “Love the Way You Lie” sounding too similar. Rick Ross Had A Connection To Nate Dogg On ‘Different Levels’

‘If you could’ve pulled off a Nate Dogg feature, you was gonna hit the charts,’ Ross says of late singer. By MTV News Staff Rick Ross Photo: Akshay Bhansali PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — With the rap world still mourning the death of hip-hop hook singer Nate Dogg , who passed away at the age of 41 on Monday, MTV News caught up with Miami hit-maker Rick Ross to get his thoughts on the Nate’s legacy . “It’s a great loss to the game. I feel like [he had] one of the biggest voices hip-hop has ever heard,” said Ross, who is currently on the road as a part of Lil Wayne’s I Am Still Music tour (formerly known as the I Am Music II tour). “If you could’ve pulled off a Nate Dogg [feature], you was gonna hit the charts, homie, and you was gonna get love, because he just had that kind of commanding voice that everybody loved.” Ross also went on to reveal a deeper connection to the fallen icon. Even though the two were first introduced on the video set of the Ludacris and Nate Dogg collaboration “Area Codes” back in 2001, Ross and the crooner shared a connection to the small town of Clarksdale, Mississippi. “Nate Dogg’s family really originated in Mississippi, and I have family that’s from that same small town,” Ross said. “So I’ve been hearing Nate Dogg on different levels for so many years and so many years.” According to The Associated Press, Nate Dogg’s lawyer Mark Geragos revealed that the crooner had succumbed to complications stemming from a number of strokes that he suffered in 2007 and 2008. Britney Spears Wanted To ‘Experiment’ On Femme Fatale

‘I really wanted to play with my voice and change up my sound,’ she tells Rolling Stone. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears in “Hold It Against Me” Photo: Jive When Britney Spears started planning Femme Fatale, there was no doubt in her mind that she wanted to take her time and make something incredibly different from anything she’s previously released. In a chat with Rolling Stone, the singer said she thinks she accomplished what she set out to do: “make a fresh-sounding album for the clubs or something that you play in your car when you’re going out at night that gets you excited.” “I wanted it to sound different from everything else out right now,” she told the mag. “I also wanted to experiment with all the different types of music I love, which is why you hear a mixture of pop, hip-hop and dance throughout the album. I also really wanted to play with my voice and change up my sound here and there, which was really fun.” Her first two singles certainly fit that bill. “Hold It Against Me” and “Till the World Ends” are sexy dance jams that are just a taste of what the album is about. “I really didn’t want to record anything on this album that could be mistaken for anyone else out there. I think my first two singles, ‘Hold It Against Me’ and ‘Till the World Ends,’ sound completely different from anything else,” she said. “And I think when my fans hear the rest of Femme Fatale, they’ll see how fresh every song is.” On the album, Spears worked with longtime collaborators Dr. Luke and Max Martin, but she also hooked up with will.i.am on the song “Big Fat Bass.” “The Peas make incredibly catchy, fun pop/dance records and I love will.i.am’s style,” she raved. “I have always wanted to do a song with him and would love to work with him more in the future. He is so interesting.” Like Spears, Luke wanted to push the boundaries for this album, and Spears described her “picky” attitude toward choosing songs, knowing that she wanted it to be “unique” from the other tracks on the radio. “I only wanted songs that I immediately connected to. I also wanted to make sure that this album was completely different from Circus or anything else I had ever recorded,” she said. “I love Circus, but I wanted something darker and edgier. I also wanted to make an album and didn’t want to just record a bunch of songs and put them together. I think Femme Fatale is really connected from start to finish.” Are you looking forward to Britney’s new music? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Britney Spears
