The Situation: Sentenced to 8 Months in Prison!

Forgive the most obvious pun in the history of writing, but it simply must be done. And here it goes: Mike Sorrentino officially finds himself in a bad situation. As sorry as we are for going there, we’re guessing this Jersey Shore mainstay is even more sorry at the moment for having not paid his taxes back in the day. He has been sentenced to eight months in jail as a result. The MTV personality and his brother Marc were indicted in September 2014. Then, in January of this year, they pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion and actually faced a five-year prison sentence. (Marc was sentenced to 24 months in prison on Friday.) Fast forward seven days to this morning and The Situation was accompanied to the courthouse by fiancee Lauren Pesce. All the familiar Jersey Shore names — Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Deena Cortese, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Vinny Guadagnino, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio and Angelina Pivarnick — were all spotted on the scene as well. So Sorrentino at least had plenty of support when he learned his fate. On top of the eight-month prison sentence, Mike must also complete 500 hours of community service and was given $123,913 in restitution already paid, plus a fine of $10,000 that must be paid within 30 days. The day before the sentencing, Snooki told Us Weekly that the cast was “hoping for the best,” adding of The Situation: “He’s just such a good person. He changed for the better. He’s a totally different person. He doesn’t deserve this right now, but obviously you gotta get that done.” Sorrentio and Pesce are allegedly planning a prison wedding at some point within the next year, as Mike tries to give himself something positive to look forward to in light of this news. In pre-sentencing memos obtained by the Associated Press yesterday, Sorrentino’s lawyer argued he should receive probation, stating that the MTV star played a minimal role in the supposed financial conspiracy … … and has worked diligently to overcome substance abuse in the time since his arrest. Conversely, prosecutors asked for a jail sentence of 14 months, arguing that such time would send the message that “tax fraud will be met with real punishment.” They also noted that Sorrentino’s substance addiction didn’t stop him from structuring cash deposits to avoid government scrutiny. Sorrentino has been to rehab on two occasions to try and overcome this addiction. Earlier this year, he told People Magazine that he has “worked so hard to turn my life around and be the best person I can be,” adding the following of appearing on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 2. “I had a very strong foundation for my recovery with over two years [sober] when I entered the house. “But I did have to challenge myself to go out and film a whole season of Jersey Shore and have fun without alcohol — to show the youth out there that it is possible.” The Situation’s status for Season 3 of this reality show revival is unknown right now. But it isn’t looking good.

Grey’s Anatomy Recap: Who Got Fired?

Alex Karev is the interim Chief of Grey Sloan Memorial, and he’s messing everything up.  Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy chronicled the manchild’s first day on the job, and it did not bode well for his future at the hospital.  Allow us to explain… Alex was on a high with his promotion and set out to approve just about everything anyone asked of him. The most ridiculous thing he approved was a 3D printer that allowed Link to change the color of prosthetic limbs.  While $500 per colored prosthetic sounds semi-reasonable, the hospital needed the 3D printer that would cost $65,000 to order in.  By the end of the day, Alex was in a tense standoff with Bailey who wanted to know why he was approving everything on his first day.  That’s when Alex showed his cards, revealing the biggest blunder of his entire career. According to him, he was still below budget for the month.  After Bailey looked at his figures, it became glaringly obvious he was looking at the figures for the quarter and not the month.  Alex had spent the hospital’s budget for the entire quarter.  Yikes.  But Alex did make a good decision. Who would have thought it?  Vik, who blackmailed Bailey and the hospital to get his job back at the end of last season, finally got his comeuppance.  He failed to recognize that a man with a nosebleed was about to die.  “I need an attending!” he yelled upon realizing he messed up.  The patient died in the operating room, and Vik refused to take responsibility.  I’m just an intern,” Vik cried. “This isn’t on me.” He didn’t want to call the time of death, so he rushed off into a room with Nico showing off his abs to Levi.  Alex followed Vik and decided to fire him on the spot. He had it coming, you guys! The medical mystery on Thursday’s installment revolved around a school teacher who fell asleep while operating a saw.  It resulted in multiple students being rushed into the O.R., and Webber took action when Levi said there was a high alcohol level in the blood.  “The more sober he gets,” Richard said, “the worse he’s going to feel.” The teacher was against the notion that he got drunk in the classroom, and Webber seemed to think the man was trying his best to deflect the situation.  Alex ultimately had to remove Webber from the room … maybe because there was a lawsuit on the horizon if he was wrong.  However, Webber persisted and brought some vodka to the man as he was recovering. The next thing we knew, the man was supposedly drunk again.  Thankfully, Webber did not give the man the drink and confirmed he had a rare condition that meant the sugar in his body would make him drunk.  Crisis averted then, right? Elsewhere, Maggie was trying to set Amelia up with anybody she could, presumably to soften the blow of Teddy’s pregnancy when it is revealed.  Amelia took notice of it and asked her to stop because she was no longer on the market.  Okay then.  What Maggie failed to realize was that she might be back on the market. Jackson sent an email into the hospital taking a leave of absence.  This was news to Maggie who was visibly annoyed. If you’re a fan of Keeping Up With the Kardashians , you may have noticed that Kim and her sisters spend a surprising amount of time eating. We don’t mean to say they take in more food than your average person — in fact, they probably consume far fewer calories than most of us. But the Kards almost certainly avoid carbs the way most of us try to steer clear of IRS audits or people who retweet themselves. Combine that with the fact that they probably also stick to low-fat diets and it’s easy why they would need to munch on salads all day in order to keep from feeling like they’re wasting away. Now, you might be thinking that we’ve spent far too much time obsessing over the food intake of a bunch reality stars and Instagram influencers — and you would be right. But we swear we’re going somewhere with all of this. Apparently, KUWTK viewers were appalled by the amount of time Kourtney Kardashian spent eating during Sunday night’s episode. The situation was so bad that Kourt felt the need to defend herself on Twitter. “I swear I just read 100 comments about me eating on tonight’s episode and some of you are very offended. Let me live,” the mother of three tweeted. A source who spoke with People magazine claims that the idea of anyone shaming Kourtney for the amount she eats is absurd, as the 39-year-old is a known fitness fanatic. “She works out and eats in order to try to stay around 100 lbs.,” the insider says, adding that Kourt’s problem is not with losing weight but with keeping it on. “Yes, she eats very healthy but she wants her body to be healthy and not underweight or malnourished.” The source adds that Kourtney’s “body type is very different from her sisters’” and it sometimes requires her to spend a large part of her day eating in order to maintain a healthy weight. Kourtney even went so far as to outline her diet regimen , noting that she begins each day by taking a collagen supplement and always avoids refined sugars. That’s all well and good, and Kourt deserves credit for taking care of herself, but we would have respected her more if she had just flipped off the haters and reminded everyone that it’s her body and she can do whatever the hell she wants with it. Jeremy Roloff Gets Daddy-Shamed for the Dumbest Reason Ever

Move over, mommy-shaming and fat-shaming. It’s time to make room for very awful daddy-shaming. Isn’t that right, Jeremy Roloff The former Little People, Big World star was on the receiving end of some ridiculous backlash this week after he shared what appears to be a simple and harmless photo of himself and his one-year old daughter, Ember. The picture was snapped in Nashville and captioned as follows: Spent a few days in Nashville and now we’re in Franklin, TN. Such a lovely town. Although it reminds me of Bend – almost too popular to enjoy now! But still, a beautiful town and we always enjoy our time down here. The people are great and the hospitality is noticed! P.S. If we took a photo with you at some point – tag us so we can see it! The image itself, meanwhile, simply features Jeremy tossing his infant up in the air: WHEEEE , right? Apparently not. More like, WTH , according to some misguided and cruel trolls. “Idiot. She’s not a circus act,” one person actually wrote in the comments, while another chimed in with; Wow. Be careful throwing your kid like that.” A third person warned the ex-TLC personality about shaken baby syndrome, while a fourth suggested that this move is harmful to “little brains.” We have no idea what to even say here. Nearly every parent alive has thrown his or her into the air in this sort of manner. The kid is never more than, like a foot above the parent’s hands outstretched hands and always falls very easily and comfortably back into place. (We can’t believe we actually need to spell this out for some people.) Thankfully, a number of social media users leaped to Jeremy’s defense and called out his critics for being, well… complete morons. “Accidents can happen doing anything,” explained one individual “Can’t stop living life because ur scared to actually have fun. Most babies like being tossed in the air, so take a seat.” For the record, Ember is doing just fine. Jeremy shared plenty of other photos from this same trip, as he and his daughter and wife enjoyed their time visiting Tennessee. Speaking of that wife, Audrey Roloff can relate to what her husband is now going through. She’s heard it from followers in the past for the kind of outfits in which she placed Ember and even for the kind of outfit she once wore to the doctor’s office. We’re not kidding. This actually happened . Overall, Jeremy and Audrey frequently post pictures of themselves and their child. They gush over her every chance they get. They come across as caring and as loving as two parents can possibly be. Jeremy has not yet responded to this dumb criticism and we hope he never does. J emele Hill and Michael Smith made history at ESPN by being the first all-Black anchor team on “SportsCenter” in February 2017. They both have left ESPN and now Hill has sat down for her first interview since the departure—and she drops some truths about how they were treated at the network. Hill explained, “Mike (Smith) and I specifically were called political, way before any of the Trump stuff ever happened and I always thought that was a very interesting label, because frankly, I think that most of the time it was said because we were the two Black people.” She continued, “It wasn’t our fault that Chance the Rapper decided to wear a Colin Kaepernick T-shirt and say that he wasn’t supporting the NFL. We didn’t have him on the show for that. We had him on the show to talk about him being in Vegas for Mayweather-McGregor. But because you have the two Black people that are outspoken, with another outspoken Black artist, suddenly the show is too political.” Thankfully, ESPN is in her rear view mirror because big things have already come her way. She will narrate the LeBron James basketball documentary  Shut Up and Dribble , which airs in November on Showtime. She is now a staff writer for The Atlantic and is developing a TV series with Gabrielle Union, which is loosely based on her relationship with her best friend of 20 years. Hill explained to  The Hollywood Reporter , “The best way I can describe it, it’s as if Molly and Issa from ‘Insecure’ had grown up. According to  Metro , the famous celebrity agent Michael Ovitz spilled all the details in his tell-all memoir  Who Is Michael Ovitz.  Back in the 1980s Michael pleaded with Hollywood bosses to be the next 007. It all started with a meeting at Ovitz’s home where Michael told him and Ovitz’ business partner Ron Meyer that he wanted to be “the star of an action movie.” Ovitz and Meyer couldn’t keep a straight face. Ovitz says the situation was made even more comical when Michael’s hat fell into a dish of guacamole. Michael tried to continue and sell the idea of him playing bond, but Ovitz and Meyer where still all laughs as the blob of guacamole was sliding down Michael’s hat. “Then the blob fell off, and Ron totally lost it. I cracked up, too, and Michael stalked out. I found him and explained for 15 minutes that we hadn’t been laughing at him,” Ovitz writes in his book.  “Finally, Michael’s face cleared. ‘OK, Ovitz. OK,’ he said. ‘But I want to play James Bond.’ I am proud to report I didn’t laugh, this time.” Ovitz then had to explain to The King of Pop that he wasn’t the best fit for the role of Bond, which has been played by actors like Sean Connery , Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan . Ovitz argued that Michael was “thinly built, you’re too sensitive, you won’t be credible as a brutal block of stone.” Obviously, by the end of it all, Michael did not get the role of 007. Idris Elba was rumored to be our first melanated British agent, but it seems he’s shut all that down. Back in August he tweeted out “don’t believe the hype” after he jokingly tweeted , “my name’s Elba, Idris Elba.” It seems Brother Bond will have to hold off a little while longer.
