Lady Gaga Sheds ‘So Many Tears’ Over New Tribute Video

‘You make me whole Little Monsters,’ she tweets about ‘Project Gaga 2010.’ By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: Steve Thorne/ Redferns Last month, Lady Gaga took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude for a nine-minute “Happy Birthday” message created by her fans all around the world. “I’ve never cried so hard in 24 years, from pure joy and unconditional love,” she wrote of the YouTube video, conceived and edited by Gaga superfan Ryan James Yezak . “Tears still streaming.” Well, on Monday (April 26) she turned on the waterworks yet again, this time for a fan-made video called “Project Gaga 2010,” which featured her minions — the so-called “Little Monsters” — thanking Gaga “for giving us a voice.” “So many tears, [you] make me whole Little Monsters,” Gaga tweeted . “Without [you], I would have no voice. Thank you.” The clip, posted on Sunday, is the largest fan-made Gaga tribute video to date, featuring 268 Little Monsters from around the world (the U.S., U.K., Germany, New Zealand, Greece, Brazil and Italy, to name just a few spots) decked out in their Gaga-iest getups, holding up personalized signs thanking Gaga for inspiring them, providing them with the courage to be unique and, most of all, giving them a voice. “We have come here today to thank you, Mother Monster, for giving all of us a voice,” a voice-over at the beginning of the video states. “We thank you and salute you … for you have made us all free bitches, baby. Hail the Queen of Monsters. So far, the video has been viewed more than 35,000 times and early Monday morning the creators of the clip took to their Twitter account to thank Gaga once again — and share the love with the Little Monsters who helped make the project possible in the first place. “We did this video all together, like true monsters do,” the wrote. “We must have all had an amazing Mother Monster, Lady Gaga.” What do you think of the latest Lady Gaga tribute video? Papi Copy: Jay-Z Sues David Ortiz Over Club Name

Rapper and noted Yankee fan Jay-Z is suing Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz for opening a nightclub in his native Dominican Republic named “Forty-Forty.” Jay-Z thinks that’s a sample that’s too close to his line of “sports lounges” which carry the “40/40 Club” name … even if Big Papi is spelling out the digits. Jay-Z and business partner Juan Perez own 40/40 Clubs in New York City, Atlantic City and Las Vegas and have plans to open venues in Tokyo and Macau. They have accused Ortiz of “trading on the fame, value and goodwill of their name through his club Forty/Forty and its website, www.fortyforty.net.” Okay, but would he sue Alex Rodriguez for the same thing? Just asking. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK : If you can’t beat ’em, sue ’em! Wait, the Yankees won the World Series last year. Never mind. That’s just adding insult to injury then . The lawsuit also notes that “David Ortiz is fully aware of plaintiff’s Manhattan 40/40 Club, since he had been a patron there on several occasions.” Jay-Z named his club “40/40” because in baseball, that refers to a 40-home run, 40-steal season, or “as exclusive as it gets.” Cool name for a club. An odd choice for Ortiz to rip off, though, as he is one of the slowest land mammals to ever roam this planet, having recorded just 10 thefts career. Make he just likes the food (clearly his waist line would corroborate that)… or he means 40 injections in 40 days, or some better steroid reference.

Japanese Log Riders: Raw Video

What's the hottest tourist attraction in Japan this time of year? It's not Mt. Fuji – it's the log riders! In Suwa City, north of Tokyo, people flocked Friday for “Onbashira Matsuri” or “holly pillar festival”. The most popular event is the logride which involves five to six men tumbling over a mountain top on a fir log. Organizers said the festival goes back to over 1,200 years, and is deeply rooted in Japan's indigenous religion Shinto. Its beginnings, shrouded in mystery, are believed to be a ritualized rebuilding of the city's main shrine. Shinto shrines are regularly torn down and rebuilt to symbolize rebirth and renewal. The person who manages to stay on top of the log for the entire trip down the hill is called “Hana-nori,” or splendid rider, and hailed by other participants. Locals say the honour and talismanic protection offered by being Hana-nori is enough to last a life time. added by: ctv
