Man Beats Neighbor’s Attacker With Baseball Bat Possibly the only thing more brutal than getting beaten with a baseball bat …would have to be calling the cops on yourself so they can come arrest you after you’ve already been beaten with a baseball bat. Via The Toronto Sun : A Saskatoon man says when he heard his female neighbour being attacked, he grabbed his baseball bat and headed next door. Jean-Pierre Veilleux was getting himself and his kids ready for the day when he heard a loud noise Friday morning and ran to his neighbour’s place and saw a man. “I hit him with my baseball bat just to kind of subdue him and then we kind of had words back and forth, I hit him a couple more times and pretty much chased him out of the house,” Veilleux said. He chased the man down the back alley and hit him again before pinning him to the ground. “He was just begging ‘please don’t hit me’ and I said ‘take out your cellphone and call the cops right now buddy. You’re going to jail,’” said Veilleux, who held the man until police arrived. Unbeknownst to Veilleux during this time, his neighbour had been stabbed multiple times by the man with a pair of scissors. She and the man were taken taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Saskatoon police are still investigating but say the woman and man know each other and this was not a random act. SMH! That lady should be thankful to have such a concerned neighbor…

Canadian children’s performer Lois Lilienstein has passed away at the age of 78. Lilienstein was best known for her role on the long-running television series Sharon, Lois and Bram’s The Elephant Show. Her son, David Lilienstein, informed a Canadian news outlet that she passed away quietly in her home on Wednesday night. “She was just a normal everyday person that had a phenomenal sense of music inside her,” said David. When asked how fans should commemorate her life and career, he referenced her most famous song, saying, “Turn to your family and friends and sing “Skinnamrinky Dinky Dink.” Along with Sharon Hampson and Bramwell “Bram” Morrison, Lilienstein formed the entertainment trio Sharon, Lois and Bram in Toronto in 1978. Their first album of folk-inspired children’s songs became an instant success, and they began touring the US and Canada that same year. In 1984, the group launched the the CBC variety show that would take them to a new level of fame. The series was eventually syndicated and picked up by American outlets such as Nickelodeon. Lilienstein continued to perform and tour with the trio until she decided to retire in 2000, following the death of her husband. But while she hasn’t performed in over 15 years, news of Lilienstein’s death quickly became a trending topic on Twitter, evidence of the millions who grew up, and still fondly remember, her unforgettable music. Alan Thicke thinks Bill Cosby is going through something a lot worse than mere growing pains. The veteran actor has joined the chorus of celebrities who have come down hard on Cosby, as the legendary comedian stands accused of sexual assault by over two dozen women. “When there’s that much smoke, there must be some fire,” Thicke said during an interview with The Toronto Star at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena. “I’m sure that Bill must have been a bad boy. I think the issue will be to what degree.” Director Judd Apatow, meanwhile, thinks Cosby should be in jail for his alleged actions against a myriad of women; while Lena Dunham sort of compared the allegations regarding Cosby to the Holocaust . Back in the 1970s, Thicke produced Cos , Cosby’s 1970s variety show on ABC. “In my history with Bill, I saw absolutely nothing of the controversy around him now,” Thicke sayd. “When I first met Bill, his show was in some trouble ratings-wise, and ABC brought me in to try and get the ratings up.” Cosby issued a statement last week in response to this ongoing scandal, telling fans that he’s “far from finished” and that he plans to keep touring despite protests and an onslaught of rape charges (of the non-legal variety).
