Jay-Z And Kanye West Shuffle Watch the Throne Tour Dates

‘We pushed it back to really route it and put other dates on there,’ Jay says of pushing launch to October. By Rob Markman Kanye West and Jay-Z Photo: Getty Images Fans eager to experience Watch the Throne live are going to have to wait an extra month before they can see Jay-Z and Kanye West in concert. On Tuesday morning, Live Nation started a pre-sale for the WTT Tour, but the original run, which was set to begin on September 22 in Detroit, is no longer. Instead Yeezy and Hov will now kick things off on October 29 in Atlanta, Georgia. The original 24-date tour is now slated for 17 stops, but Live Nation’s website says that more dates will be announced soon. The October 29 Atlanta date was in fact on the original schedule, as was the October 30, Greensboro, North Carolina, date and the November 1 show in Baltimore. The remaining concerts are all rescheduled. Look back at the events leading up to Watch the Throne ‘s August 8 release. There is still no New York City date on paper yet, though Hov confirmed that there will be one during a radio interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez on Monday, when he also denied rumors of a feud between him and Kanye . The Throne will stop at the nearby Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for two nights and will also land in West’s hometown of Chicago on December 1. “That’s an old list we had to push that back, because it was like, we tried to put it out in pre-order and all the lines got jammed,” Jay told Martinez in the interview as she read off the tour’s original dates. “We pushed it back to really route it and put other dates on there. We’ll probably put four New York dates there instead.” Check out exclusive photos of Jay-Z and Kanye West in the studio. As of now, the last date on the schedule is across the northern border on December 18 in Vancouver. In the radio interview, Jay said that he and Kanye hadn’t worked out the performance details and couldn’t confirm who would hit the stage when or how the two would interact. “We hadn’t worked out those details yet but considerable time will be spent onstage together,” he said. The bromance between Lil Wayne and Drake is somewhat suspect but actually kind of cute. New Films From Roman Polanski, George Clooney Highlight 68th Venice Film Festival Lineup

When Toronto International Film Festival organizers revealed the first chunk of their schedule earlier this week, there were some notable omissions: the highly anticipated Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy and Roman Polanski’s Carnage , for instance. Seems those films were already packing bags for Italy. Both will debut in Venice in September, along with The Ides of March and previously reported Damsels in Distress , which will open and close the festival, respectively. The biggest fall movie not going to Venice or Toronto? Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar , though perhaps that one is earmarked for the New York Film Festival. Click through for the full Venice lineup.

Jay-Z, Kanye West Announce Watch The Throne Release Date, Tour

Hip-hop duo is calling itself the Throne. By Rob Markman Kanye West and Jay-Z Photo: WireImage Throne watchers now have another date to focus on, this time an official one. It has finally been confirmed that on August 8, Jay-Z and Kanye West will release their highly anticipated joint LP, Watch the Throne, digitally on iTunes. Compact disc lovers will be able to purchase physical copies a few days later on August 12. But when searching for the CD at local retail spots, fans shouldn’t look under “J” for Jay or “W” for West, but rather “T,” as the duo has officially christened their group the Throne. Multiplatinum hip-hop supergroups cannot live by album sales alone, so on August 8 tickets for the Watch the Throne tour will also go on sale to the general public. The 24-date Live Nation-produced run will begin in Detroit on September 22 and wrap up on November 3 in Boston. Performing songs from the Throne album, as well as solo cuts from their respective catalogs, the duo will stop for two dates in Kanye’s hometown of Chicago, but none in Jay’s native New York. Instead the tour will hit the nearby East Rutherford, New Jersey, Izod Center on September 27 and 28. Starting July 28, fans who visit the Live Nation website will have access to pre-sale tickets; the next day, July 29, Citi Card members will get their chance to snatch up early seats. A press release sent out by Hov’s camp also confirms an official 12-song track list, with four bonus tracks slated for the LP’s deluxe version. RZA, the Neptunes and Kanye himself all contribute to the production side of things, while Beyonc

Drake Reveals Lead Take Care Single: ‘Headlines’

‘With this album, I want to tell a whole story,’ Drake tells Rolling Stone. By Alvin Blanco Drake Photo: Getty Images While hip-hop heads are eyeing the throne, more details are being revealed about Drake’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Take Care. After releasing a handful of songs via his blog (including “Marvin’s Room” and “Dreams Money Can Buy”), the Toronto rapper and YMCMB representative reportedly will soon be dropping his new album’s proper lead single “Headlines” and has also divulged info about a few more songs on the project. Drake let loose an obvious clue about his official single with a tweet on July 18 that read simply, “Headlines.” On Thursday, it was confirmed that there is a song called “Headlines” and it was produced by longtime Drake producers and collaborators Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels and Noah “40” Shebib, according to HipHopDX . Ironically, despite all the speculation on what his new album’s first single will be, Drake expressed his disdain of single tracks. “I hate singles. … With this album, I want to tell a whole story,” Drake told Rolling Stone . “I don’t want people to just hear a piece and judge the album on that.” In the interview, conducted in the Toronto studio where he is recording the album, Drake revealed the titles to three songs: “Shot for Me,” “Free Spirit” and “The Real Her.” “Free Spirit” features Rick Ross, and “The Real Her” features Drake’s Young Money benefactor Lil Wayne. Drake also mentioned his desire to collaborate with an eclectic mix of musicians for Take Care, including R&B crooner Abel Tesfaye of the Weeknd, storied hip-hop producer DJ Premier, and indie rockers Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine’s and producer Jamie Smith of the xx. Take Care is due in stores October 24, which happens to be Drake’s birthday. Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Drake Related Artists Drake

It was the weekend of the MMVA’s 2011 in Toronto and all…

It was the weekend of the MMVA’s 2011 in Toronto and all though it was not announced Justin would be making an appearance, we all had our fingers crossed he would be there. Soon enough the show’s co-host Selena Gomez arrived at Toronto’s Four Seasons Hotel so we knew if Justin was to come, he would probably be staying there too. The morning of Saturday the 18th of June I saw Bruce & Diane Dale walk out of the hotel which for me, confirmed that Justin was definitely coming. A friend and I went up to them and just said hello and asked them how they were. A few hours later, a paparazzi told me the license plate number of the car bringing Justin back from the airport and where to wait to see it. I stood on the side of the street and a few minutes later saw the car with the outline of Justin in the car and for me…that was enough! Later on in the evening, just before the red carpet, a friend and I were waiting to see Lady Gaga outside of her hotel but decided to go for a walk around the other side of the Four Seasons. On the way there, we bumped into Ryan Good who was super sweet and got a picture with him. Once we got on the other side of the hotel, we saw Justin’s car with his driver standing outside. Being my crazy self I decided to ask him if he was Justin’s driver and he was! He took my printed photos of Justin to try and get signed (they didn’t get signed in the end though but that’s ok!) and told us where to stand if we wanted to see Justin. So off to Starbucks we went to wait to witness a glimpse Justin Bieber. We waited for about ten minutes and soon enough, out came the car and Justin quickly rolled down the window so the small group of us there could see him and Ryan Butler!  Once the MMVA’s had started we took a walk downtown and saw Justin’s driver once again. My mom thought it would be cute if I got a picture in Justin’s seat and he let me! Justin’s water bottle was on the seat, so obviously he moved it, but I got my picture taken and it was as if the seat was still warm for Justin was sat there moments before myself! My mom thanked the driver for being so kind. That night we got home and got up to try to see Justin at the airport. Justin ended up going into a different entrance but I have to thank my mom for being crazy enough to do that, I love you mommy! After waiting at the airport for an hour we decided to go back to Yorkville and saw Ryan Good again. This time I got an autograph for my best friend and myself as well as an autograph on my home made Bieber shirt from the One Time days. I wish I could have actually met Justin but my experience was crazy enough for me and I know I got a lot closer to him then a lot of people! -@rebeccamayxo Read the rest here: It was the weekend of the MMVA’s 2011 in Toronto and all…
