Drake Reveals October 24 Take Care Release Date

Toronto MC slipped the date in a post linking to new track ‘Marvin’s Room.’ By Rob Markman Drake Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Drake can have just about any woman he wants, but on his new song “Marvin’s Room,” the Young Money rep has his eye on another man’s squeeze. It’s unclear whether the track, released on Thursday (June 9), will appear on Drake’s upcoming Take Care, but in the post accompanying the song on his October’s Very Own blog , Drizzy writes, “Another piece of the story. Single coming in July. Take Care coming Oct. 24th.” The “another piece of the story” in Drake’s message likely refers to a May 20 post in which he dropped “Dreams Money Can Buy.” The Toronto MC wrote of “Dreams,” “Not my single. Just a piece of my story.” But for fans eagerly awaiting his sophomore album, the announcement that it will drop on the 24th of October required no deciphering. “Marvin’s Room” opens with a phone conversation between a young lady and an unheard party. The young lady explains that she went out to a couple of clubs, came home and then “went to bed.” The story begins to unfold with Drake’s opening lyrics: “Cups of the ros

Drake Talks ‘Crafting’ DJ Khaled’s ‘I’m On One’ Collabo

‘That’s the first time anybody has ever heard all three of us on a record,’ Drizzy tells MTV News of teaming with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ricky Louis Drake Photo: MTV News Drake is such a nice guy. When DJ Khaled approached Drizzy to appear on a track off of his upcoming Cash Money album, We the Best Forever, the Thank Me Later MC wanted to lend something memorable to his friend’s project. The result, “I’m On One,” Khaled’s latest single featuring Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and, of course, Drake. “Khaled waited, like, forever and a day. I was taking my sweet time trying to craft this piece of music because I knew he needed a special moment,” Drizzy told MTV News at the song’s video shoot in Miami. “When I did it, I was like, ‘OK, it’s gotta be me, Ross and Wayne.’ That’s the first time anybody has ever heard all three of us on a record.” After leaking the song onto the Internet on May 12, Khaled and company were out shooting the video for “I’m On One” this past weekend — just 15 days later — and that fact isn’t lost on Drake. “To be out here shooting a video, it’s amazing how things work nowadays,” he said. “I used to make music and never think anyone was gonna hear it, now I make music and two weeks later, we’re shooting crazy videos in Miami, living the life.” Aside from working with Wayne, who Drake is signed to and frequently shows appreciation for, the Toronto-born rapper spoke on his admiration for his “brother” Rozay. “That’s one of my favorite people to rap with in the world,” Drizzy said. “That’s family the same way YM is family, the same way that OVO is family,” he said, name-checking his Young Money and October’s Very Own teams. “Ross know what it is, MMG all day, I hold that close to my heart.” What do you think of “I’m On One”? Playing in Toronto last week, Paul Simon did something, well, awesome. A fan asks him to play “Duncan,” his 1972 classic, and lets him know that she learned to play guitar to that song. So Simon agrees. And, even better, he invites her on stage to take over guitar and vocals. Nervous, almost hyperventilating, she A Paul Simon Feel-Very-Good Moment is a post from: Open Culture . Tyga Says Lil Wayne Supports His Diddy-Dirty Money Tour Gig

‘You have to really go out and grind for your own and build your own fanbase,’ Young Money MC tells Sway during ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Tyga on “RapFix Live” Photo: Rich Sancho/ MTV News When Sean “Diddy” Combs decided to take his Last Train to Paris show on the road , he tapped one of Young Money’s brightest stars, Tyga, to come with him as an opening act. And even though Lil Wayne’s I Am Still Music Tour is running concurrently with Diddy-Dirty Money’s Coming Home trek, Tyga insists there are no conflicts between the camps at all. In fact, the YM soldier said Wayne encourages his artists to branch out. “Wayne told us: Don’t rely on him to make you hot, don’t rely on him for the hits. You have to really go out and grind for your own and build your own fanbase,” Tyga told Sway during MTV News’ “Rap Fix Live.” “That’s important. People respect that more, too, when you can build your own foundation and they can really get to you as an artist and not get to know you as a group.” The Grammy-nominated L.A. rapper said he has learned a lot by watching the D-DM stage show and that Combs often comes to him for performance tips as well. “Every time he comes to me after the show and is like, ‘How was that? Was the show dope? Tell me what you think,’ ” Tyga said. ” And I tell him stuff like, ‘Maybe you should add that song right there to keep the energy’ or whatever. It’s a lot of respect out there.” Diddy-Dirty Money’s 20-city tour kicked off last week in Minneapolis and will makes stops in Toronto, Boston and NYC before concluding in St. Louis on May 15. Johnny Knoxville and Naomi Nelson

Johnny Knoxville – whose latest film, Jackass 3.5, is currently streaming online – tells the Toronto Sun that his brand of gross-out humor isn#39;t meant to be taken all that seriously. “People want to turn their brain off and go to the movies and laugh,” he says. “There isn#39;t any deeper meaning there. If you wanted to laugh and you did at our movie, then good.” Johnny Knoxville is expanding his family with a third child. “My wife Naomi and I are super happy to announce that we are having

TRAILER: Could Passion Play Be the Megan Fox/Mickey Rourke Trainwreck You’ve Been Waiting for?

After a troubled, 20-year road from script-development to screen, Passion Play is coming to select theaters. Then, just in case you blink, it will hit DVD three weeks later . Word of mouth out of Toronto was that the film was a disaster, and the theater-to-DVD release window pretty much backs that up. But after watching the trailer, I can’t help but wonder: Can a film with Mickey Rourke falling in love with an angel played by Megan Fox while trying not to get killed by Bill Murray be totally worthless?
