Steve Angello, AN21, Max Vangeli In ‘Work Mode’ On Size Matters Tour

‘[Max and AN21] are going to finish their album, I’m going to do music, and I’m going to sleep!’ Angello tells MTV News of no-nonsense tour. By Adam Stewart Steve Angello Photo: MTV News The wave of success Size Records has been riding hit the pavement last month in the form of a huge motor coach touring the country. For one of the hottest labels in dance music, the multi-city Size Matters Tour formally kicked off back on March 22 at Fontainebleau’s LIV nightclub — the first in a series of massive Miami Music Week parties at the swanky venue. But the bus didn’t truly hit the road until a week later, when all the Miami madness had subsided. Now that Steve Angello, AN21 and Max Vangeli are done frolicking in the Sunshine State, things are about to get real. “Oh, they’re going to sleep at 8 p.m.,” Angello told MTV News. “[And] they’re going to wake up at 7 [a.m.]. They’re going to run next to the bus, [and] I’m going to keep them in shape!” “I’m already scared,” Vangeli told us in a separate interview. “I’m really scared!” AN21 added. It seems as if big brother has instilled the fear of God in the youngsters, who tell us they are as far as 13 or 14 tracks into their highly anticipated album, set for completion this year. Moreover, for the first time in what seems like ages, brothers Steve and AN21 will have a chance to sit down along with Max and finish up a track that the three have been working on for some time. “We have a track that we’ve actually been working on with Steve for, like, six months — maybe even longer,” AN21 said. “It’s so hard to finish it, because he’s always on the road or working on other things or we’re always on the road, so now we have his undivided attention [for] three weeks, so we’re going to finish something.” “It’s going to be work mode,” Angello said. “[Max and AN21] are going to finish their album, I’m going to do music, and I’m going to sleep!” There’s no denying that Angello means business. But we all know how the Swedes and their pals like to have a good time, so we had to ask the man in charge if there is any chance of the bus turning into a frat house on wheels. “There’s not going to be any alcohol on the bus — whatsoever!” Angello told us with an “I’m not kidding” look. “I heard from sources that if I bring one beer on the bus, [Steve]’s kicking me off,” Vangeli confirmed. “But I’m allowed to have two beers per week,” AN21 added with a smirk. “Maybe three!” “We have a lot of stuff to do [and] to work on, so it’s good,” Max added of the rules. “It was the same way in L.A. when we were working in the studio. Everyone was like, ‘Oh, guys, come out for the night!’ [but] Steve was like, ‘You finish your work and then you go!’ ” Even though we’re certain Angello’s no-nonsense rules might be bent just a tad, the packed schedule the gang has ahead of them certainly doesn’t leave much wiggle room for anything else. Having already logged miles with stops in Orlando, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Toronto and Vegas, the Size Matters Tour hits up the Midwest on its next leg starting Tuesday night (April 5) in Columbus, Ohio, before a West Coast stint that ultimately rounds out the U.S. leg of the tour at Coachella on April 16. And then, of course, comes their slew of European dates, which take them out toward the end of summer. There’s certainly no rest for rest for this hard-hitting crew, but for Angello, it’s a much-needed change of pace. “You know, friends are jumping on [the bus] and coming off,” he said. “Different friends are joining me in different cities. It’s going to be fun, it’s a break of airports. I just need something else!” Will you check out the Size Matters Tour when it comes to your town? Let us know in the comments below! Keanu Reeves Wants ‘Man Of Tai Chi’ To Be A ‘Solid Kung Fu Movie’

‘Good story, good plot — but let’s get some good kung fu going!’ he tells MTV News of the film, which he plans to direct. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Keanu Reeves Photo: MTV News While Keanu Reeves pushes forward with work on “47 Ronin,” his samurai- and ninja-filled revenge story, he’s also trying to get another martial-arts film off the ground — and this one he wants to direct himself. The 46-year-old actor first told us about the project at the Toronto Film Festival last fall, but when we caught up with him recently as he promoted the indie comedy “Henry’s Crime,” Reeves spilled some additional details. “It’s called ‘Man of Tai Chi,’ ” he said. “We want to do it in Chinese and English, do it as kind of a co-production with CFG perhaps, which is a Chinese film group, kind of a studio. It’s tricky. “I would play the villain,” he added of the story, which would be set in the modern day but pay homage to kung fu films of the past. Though Reeves and his partners haven’t yet bankrolled the production, they’ve got a script in place — one that will contain a ridiculous amount of fighting. “There’s 18 fights. We’ve timed it out. It’s about 40 minutes of fighting,” he said. “I want to make a good, solid kung fu movie. Good story, good plot — but let’s get some good kung fu going!” While Reeves waits for financing to come together, he’s gearing up to shoot “47 Ronin” in 3-D . “I call it a story of revenge and impossible love,” he said. “The samurai become outcast and decide to enact revenge on the person who is responsible for the death of their lord.” Check out everything we’ve got on “47 Ronin.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Keanu Reeves Reveals ‘Bill And Ted 3’ Plot Details

‘I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft,’ Reeves tells MTV News of script for slacker sequel. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Keanu Reeves Photo: MTV News Let’s travel back in time to September 2010 and the Toronto Film Festival, when Keanu Reeves told us he was most certainly not joking about jump-starting a third “Bill and Ted” movie — 20 years after the last one hit theaters. In fact, he said, original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon were “going to try and see if they can write something.” Flash-forward to the present day and a most excellent update on their progress, which Reeves kicked to us while promoting his indie comedy “Henry’s Crime.” “I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft,” he said on Monday (April 4), adding with a laugh, “No pressure, guys!” Back in September, Reeves dished nothing but wacky jokes about what the project might actually look like — a 3-D black-and-white sequel co-directed by Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Werner Herzog? — but this time around the 46-year-old actor gave us some meaty clues about the film’s potential plot (albeit with a few caveats). “I know a little bit. But I don’t know — the fellas went off and cooked it up,” he explained. “I don’t know what happened when they put the elements together.” That said, Reeves went on to describe how the story arc might fit into the overall franchise mythology. “When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened,” he said. “So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back,” he added before trailing off. So it seems that “Bill and Ted 3” (or whatever it ends up being called) will focus on the Wyld Stallyns’s attempts to live up to the hype that Rufus (George Carlin) first revealed in the 1989 original. Perhaps they’re running out of time. After all, Bill (Alex Winter) and Reeves’ Ted will be approaching 50 in the third film, a prospect that had Reeves laughing, “That’s pretty excellent!” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Charlie Sheen in Detroit: An Absolute Disaster

Charlie Sheen kicked off his tour in Detroit tonight, and, the actor got violently torpedoed with boos from a crowd that left before the deranged act was finished. The show started approximately 20 minutes late, as a random comedian came out and told jokes that made Two and a Half Men seem funny. A sample: “Shouldn’t they call the defibrillator a difibra-now?” Movie clips then played around 9 p.m., two goddesses made out on stage and Sheen finally appeared. He stood behind a podium and said to the crowd: “I am finally here to identify and train the Vatican assassin locked inside each and every one of you.” That was pretty much the highlight of the evening. Witnesses at the event said Sheen rambled on incoherently, at one point saying: “They took my awesome children… They took my sometimes bitchin job… And when they thought there was nothing left, they tried to take my titanium heart and brain and spine. But they could not.” The audience grew restless, boos began to reign down and that’s when the actor took to mocking those in attendance. “I figured Detroit was a good place to tell some crack stories,” he said. “I don’t do crack anymore, but this is a good f-cking night to do some crack.” Many more boos ensued. Reports confirm people began to walk out around this time, to which Sheen taunted: “You paid your hard-earned money without knowing what this show was about.” Around 10:20, the track Sheen recorded with Snoop Dogg was played. But Sheen had already left the stage and the rapper was nowhere in sight. Said one fan to Entertainment Weekly , after traveling from Toronto for the show: “He’s making a fool of himself. Is there a bigger loser in the world? He’ll be [begging] Chuck Lorre for his job back by the end of the week.”

Will Ferrell Tries Not to Be Funny in the Everything Must Go Trailer

Casting Will Ferrell in a dark adaptation of a Raymond Carver story sounded like a pretty intriguing idea when the synopsis for Everything Must Go first surfaced before its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. In it, he plays an alcoholic who loses his job, only to come home and find that his wife has locked him out and scattered all of his possessions on the lawn. So begins Ferrell’s three-day yard sale, where everything must… never mind. But wait, why does an adaptation of a Carver story look so uplifting?
