Gucci recently teamed with Lil Wayne to shoot the video (albeit separately) for their collaboration “We Be Steady Mobbin’,” from Young Money’s compilation album. In exclusive footage from the set provided to MTV News by DJ Scoob Doo, who directed the clip, Gucci beams while texting Drake about a song the pair recorded together. “Drake just hit me about the song we did,” Gucci tells Scoob as he taps back a message to the Toronto lyricist. “We going in.” The “We Be Steady Mobbin’ ” video is set to premiere on the Fourth of July on MTV Jams. Game Talks Beanie Sigel Verse, Insists He Didn’t Dis Drake

‘Beans, he sounds hungry, like he ain’t have his hair braided in six years,’ he tells Mixtape Daily of R.E.D. Album track. Game Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive For the most part, you will never get an MC to admit that he did a song with another spitter, and that spitter’s rhymes were so ferocious he had to go back to the drawing board to pen another verse. But Game doesn’t care. His pedigree as a lyricist is well-documented, so when he spoke to

Drake Postpones Away From Home Tour’s European Leg

The Toronto MC says he made ‘difficult decision,’ but must tend to his ailing mother. By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: Getty Images Drake announced on Thursday (July 1) that he’ll postpone the European leg of his Away From Home Tour , set to begin Friday, to tend to his ailing mother, who has been battling an arthritic condition and an illness that affects her entire body, often leaving her unusually fatigued. The rapper released a statement explaining the last-minute decision to his fans. “Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated,” Drake said. “In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years. I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy during this time.” The Toronto lyricist has postponed shows in Paris, Amsterdam and London; the shows will be rescheduled for November 2010. A number of his European appearances, however, were festival appearances that Drake will no longer make. The So Far Gone star will resume his tour on July 16 for the Canadian leg, which includes dates in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. In the MTV documentary “Drake: Better Than Good Enough,” the rapper opens up, abeit briefly, about his mother’s illness. “My mom is sick,” he says in one scene. “So that scares me a lot. She’s been the most supportive person I’ve ever had in my life — the only person that loves me unconditionally, really. I know a lot of people love me and I love a lot of people. But to love somebody unconditionally is different.” Related Videos ‘Drake: Better Than Good Enough’ Related Photos Drake’s Style: From A To Drizzy Related Artists Drake

Will G20 Police Succeed in Covering Up Reports of Rape & Torture?

Now that Canada is officially the most oppressive and backward dictatorship in the west, will authorities be allowed to cover-up the Abu-Ghraib style incarceration methods Toronto police engaged in during the G20 summit this past weekend, where women were arrested and subsequently raped by male cops? In the video below, journalist Amy Miller describes how women arrested by Toronto police were threatened with rape, that numerous women were strip-searched by male officers and that one severely traumatized woman was sexually molested by police who stuck their fingers up her vagina. “I was told I was going to be gang banged. I was told that I was never going to want to act as a journalist again by making sure I was going to be repeatedly raped while I was in jail,” she said. Sexual penetration of an individual against their will is called rape. If these reports are accurate, and there’s no reason to think otherwise given everything else we’ve witnessed not only over the past few days but over the past several years in Canada, Toronto police officers are not only brutal thugs who like to lie about the law, unlawfully arrest people, snatch and grab protesters using unmarked cars, and beat up journalists from major newspapers, but they are also rapists who prey on innocent women. We have now learned that Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair engaged in mass public deception by lying about the claim that Toronto’s “Public Works Act” mandated G20 protesters to show their ID. The law doesn’t exist, it was never passed. The police officers who cited this law when arresting Charlie Veitch were knowingly engaging in wrongful arrest and should be sued. Likewise, the goons who brutally molested women Abu-Ghraib style need to be identified and prosecuted. Miller should seek out the victims and bring charges against those involved, and not allow these monsters to cover-up their shameful behavior. Drake And Chris Brown Hit The Studio Together

‘I was actually in the studio with Chris Brown for a little bit,’ Drake tells ‘Extra’ By Mawuse Ziegbe Drake Photo: Michael Caulfield/ WireImage With T-Pain keeping a relatively low profile and Lil Wayne midway through his yearlong incarceration, Drake has stepped up over the past year as the king of collabos: He’s dropped bars on records by everyone from Jay-Z and Timbaland to Mary J. Blige and Trey Songz. The Toronto MC shows no signs of slowing down either, as the star recently disclosed that he’s been “studio hopping” and even jumped in the lab with Chris Brown . “Tonight, I’ve just been in the studio. I was actually in the studio with Chris Brown for a little bit,” Drake told “Extra” on Tuesday. Fresh off of a big night for both stars at Sunday’s 2010 BET Awards , it appears Drizzy and Breezy were not content to bask in the buzz and headed straight for the studio shortly after. Drake didn’t mention what, if anything, he and Breezy were cooking up but he did say that he went on the hunt for other possible collaborations. “Then I was studio hopping, seeing where I could lend my hand to whoever’s project since I’ve done mine.” The studio session is not the first time that Drizzy and Breezy have crossed paths. Brown’s ex Rihanna was once rumored to have rebounded with Drake following the pop couple’s highly publicized split; a report that Brown once addressed in song and that Drizzy denied was true . However, Brown and Drake have also publicly appeared cool with each other, with Breezy showing up to Drake’s Thank Me Later listening event earlier this year and briefly filling in for Drizzy during a 2009 Young Money tour date in Virginia. What do you think a Drake/ Chris Brown collaboration might sound like? Let us know in the comments below! Related Artists Drake Chris Brown

Blue Jeans Hold Secret To Making Better Solar Cells

Photo via lifecreations Researchers at Cornell University have found a seemingly simple solution to creating more efficient solar cells. It turns out that particular molecules found in blue jeans and some ink dyes can be used in a process for assembling a structure called “covalent organic framework” or COF, which can help create cheaper, flexible solar cells. While organic materials haven’t proven very easy to use so far for creating solar cells, the researchers are finding that these molecules found in every-day materials might be just w… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Are Blue Bikelanes Better than Black?

Spacing A recent study in the UK, reported in the Guardian, showed that drivers give less room to cyclists when there is a bike lane than when there isn’t. Graduate student Ciaran Meyers attached a special camera to his bike and found that motorists gave him an extra 18.1 cm (7.12 inches) when there was no marked cycle lane than they did when there was a lane. Transport engineer John Parkin explains w… Read the full story on TreeHugger

A 4300 SF House in the Suburbs Is Not a "Statement of Sustainability"

Victor Kam builds his dream house; Aaron Harris for the Toronto Star It started with the title: “Statement of Sustainability” where Ian Harvey writes in the Star about how Victor Kam is going green and he’s putting his money where his mouth is: He’s embarking on a million-dollar gamble to design and build the most practical, sustainable home possible just north of the city. It goes downhill from there, an example of everything that is wrong about “green building” and “sustainable design” as practiced by so many today. Where do we s… Read the full story on TreeHugger
