‘ABDC’ Champs Pop, Lock And Flip For Charities

From JabbaWockeeZ to Poreotix, the winning crews did their best for honor five young volunteers. By Kelley L. Carter The Jabbawockeez perform on “America’s Best Dance Crew” Photo: MTV On Thursday night, “America’s Best Dance Crew” champs JabbaWockeeZ, Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes and new winners Poreotix joined forces for a live charity special to honor five heroic young individuals , in partnership with DoSomething.org . After all five groups collaborated for an electric opening number, each crew got their own chance to shine. Video footage showed how the crews were each partnered with a young volunteer who taught them about the charities they’ve founded. Then dancers performed routines in their honor before the organizations were given checks for $10,000. Poreotix, the most recent champions, put together a fun, animated routine set to sped-up “Alvin and the Chipmunks” music in honor of Jackie Rotman, the creator of Everybody Dance Now, an organization that teaches dance to underprivileged kids. “You guys have a lot of nuts; I said that on live TV,” joked judge JC Chazez. All-girl season-four champs We Are Heroes were up next, dressed up as powerful female doll figures (including Wonder Woman, Cat Woman and a princess). They tumbled and flipped and delivered precision dance moves to techno backbeats. It was all in homage to 16-year-old Sarah Cronk, who started the Sparkle Effect to encourage cheerleaders to start squads for special-needs kids. Quest Crew followed with a routine for 14-year-old Jordan Coleman, who made the film “Say It Loud” to promote education among his peers. The crew performed a throwback to the big-band era of music, impressing Omarion with their energy and air flares. “That was professional, right there. I got to give you guys props on your energy, your creative, unique choreography,” Omarion said. Season-two winners Super Cr3w did a fun tossup to 1980s breakdancing, entertaining with head spinning, halos and windmills. Their honoree was Marvelyn Brown, who founded HIV/AIDS education organization Marvelous Connections after contracting HIV herself. Super Cr3w had a secret weapon for the night: an 8-year-old pint-size dancer who hung in there with the big boys. “I’m almost speechless. … This kid is only 8 years old. That is unbelievable. It’s great to see you guys again,” Lil Mama said. Lastly, the masked men of the JabbaWockeeZ took the stage, and by the end of their performance, the entire audience was donning their trademark masks. They popped and locked and closed the show out on a high note for the sake of Paralympic skier Josh Sundquist, the creator of Less Than Four, a social networking site for amputees. “Welcome home, gentlemen,” Chasez told the group. “Congratulations on all your success. You guys are still world class. You give sound a shape, a visual shape. It’s artistic and it’s beautiful.” Which crew’s routine did you like best on Thursday’s show? Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, Estelle, More Take Stage At ‘Rip The Runway’

Soulja Boy Tell’em, Trina and more perform on the BET show, airing Monday. By Jayson Rodriguez Nicki Minaj at BET’s “Rip the Runway” Photo: George Napolitano/ Getty Images Nicki Minaj is hip-hop’s leading lady at the moment and the Young Money rapper proved she’s adept at handling that spotlight during her turn as co-host of BET’s “Rip the Runway.” The femcee was joined by The Game’s Pooch Hall, and delivered her trademark sass both in rhyme and in jokes. “Pooch, you haven’t even complimented me on my shoes yet,” Nicki said during the opening minutes, teasing the actor as the pair introduced the show, set to air March 15 on BET and Centric. The Queens lyricist doubled as a performer also, joining Ludacris onstage for his hit “My Chick Bad.” “My chick bad, tell me if you seen her,” Luda rapped. “She always bring the racket like Venus and Serena.” Minaj stormed onstage for the third verse, much to the delight of her fans — there were plenty of Barbiez on board — in a snakeskin bodysuit and pink wig. “Trash talk to them then I put them in a Hefty,” she rhymed. “Running down the court, I’m dunking on them Lisa Leslie.” Along with the “Rip the Runway” performances, new designers’ spring and summer lines were presented and showcased throughout the broadcast. BET’s “106 & Park” co-host Rocsi Diaz, Sean John model Miguel Perdomo and artist Amanda Diva were among those strutting down the catwalk. Upstart MC B.o.B. a.k.a. Bobby Ray performed his first single, “Nothin’ on You,” as the Tennille White Chicago line was showcased. Trina was partnered with Haute Couture during her performance and newcomer Roscoe Dash and Soulja Boy Tell’em had the rowdiest performance of the night, hands down, with “All the Way Turnt Up.” The song was paired with sporty clothing line Prot

After Lil Wayne’s Sentencing, What’s Next?

Rapper will now be booked and processed before ending up at Rikers Island. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images Now that Lil Wayne has surrendered to the court , he’ll be booked through the New York City court system and processed by the Department of Correction. The action could take hours, with Wayne not likely to see his cell and new bed until late in the evening, according to retired corrections officer Charles Reid, who spoke to MTV News about the process. Reid first spoke with MTV News last month about safety issues surrounding the multiplatinum MC . Reid characterized the booking and processing order as a tedious journey from standing before the judge until inmates arrive at their bunks. First, Lil Wayne’s case will be closed by the court and the rapper will be booked as a guilty party and fingerprinted. From there, paperwork will be drawn up and the Cash Money lyricist will be transferred from the court’s custody to the Department of Correction, which also has offices in the New York Criminal Court building. Once Wayne is transferred over to the DOC, he’ll be assigned a sentence number unique to each inmate. That number will include “anything you need to know about him,” Reid explained. Data about why the rapper was sentenced, his location and a list of his history will be detailed in his sentence number. From there, the rapper may be kept in Manhattan at the Tombs, otherwise known as the Manhattan Detention Complex. Depending on how long his processing takes and how busy officers are with transportation, the rapper could be held in the city. More than likely, though, Reid said, Lil Wayne’s ordeal will be completed in one day, spread out over many hours. By the time the New Orleans native arrives to Rikers Island, he’ll have to turn over his personal items to be held on location until his sentence is completed. Corrections officers will then strip search Lil Wayne, order him to shower, and then provide the rapper with his prison attire. As Reid pointed out before, Lil Wayne will not have to cut his trademark dreadlocks. “The days of doing that are over,” he said. “They can’t make inmates do that anymore — it’s within their rights to maintain any kind of hairstyle.” After that, Lil Wayne will be escorted to his cell where he’ll begin his prison stint; he pleaded guilty to an attempted-gun-possession charge, which will put him behind bars for eight months to a year. A prison guard who spoke to MTV News late last month described what the rapper’s new setting would look like. According to the guard, who spoke to us anonymously because of the nature of the information, Lil Wayne will likely have his own 10-by-15-foot cell with a toilet, sink, bed and one window. The view, according to the guard, however, won’t be much. “He’ll be able to see another wall [outside the window],” the guard said. Audrina Patridge Fake Boobs Are Gold

Here’s nobody Audrina Patridge at some party the other night, not anything to do with the Academy Awards obviously, but some other party for all the minor celebrities who aren’t invited to the big galas. I bet Andy Dick was at this one. Anyhow, her dress is pretty stupid looking other than the fact that it’s nicely wrapped around her big fake boobs. I think that Audrina would get more exposure if all she wore to these types of things was her roller girl bikini outfit from the other day, it can become her trademark, like Burt Reynolds’ mustache or Pamela Anderson’s Hepatitis. Just a thought.
