Taylor Momsen Lowers The Tone Of Justin Bieber Movie Premier

Justin Bieber showing his trademark toothage 17-year-old “Gossip Girls” actress, Taylor Momsen, who is an admitted drug addict, alcoholic and chain smoker, showed up to the premier of the Justin Bieber documentary, “Never Say Never” dressed like a prostitute. Bieber’s girlfriend Selena Gomez wore matching purple While other guests, many of them children, kept it decent and appropriate in the attire department, for the movie on the 16-year-old singer’s life, over the top and distasteful Momsen, wore underwear, garter and a corset. Taylor Momsen (photo redacted by the site) Would it have been that difficult for her to wear proper clothing at an event many preteens and fellow teens would be attending. Why was she even invited, given her poor track record in this regard. Momsen is a terrible example for Bieber’s audience of how a young woman should conduct herself. Scott Dangerfield’s ‘American Idol’ Audition Wows Jennifer Lopez

‘You might be my favorite so far,’ J.Lo tells the unassuming student teacher in Milwaukee. By Adam Graham Scott Dangerfield auditions on Wednesday’s “American Idol” Photo: FOX Sometimes talent catches you off guard, and Scott Dangerfield came into his Milwaukee audition on Wednesday’s (January 26) “American Idol” episode without a hard-luck tale or a weepy backstory. But he left elevated on a cloud of praise and was dubbed by Jennifer Lopez as her “favorite” contestant thus far. The first thing the judges noticed about Dangerfield, an unassuming 22-year-old student teacher in Milwaukee, was his lips, and how he appeared to be wearing lipstick. Blushing, he wiped off his lips. “I was kissing one of the girls backstage!” Dangerfield said, prompting Jackson to make a crack about a potential love connection. “More than one destiny is going to be made for me today,” Dangerfield joked. With his shaggy haircut, black framed glasses and bookish outfit — he wore a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a casual pair of shorts — Dangerfield gave off a slight Clay Aiken vibe, albeit cooler than the season-two contestant. And when he sang, it was similarly surprising: He did Amos Lee’s 2005 song “Dreamin’ ” and infused it with his rich, soulful tone, made smoother by his easygoing style. There were no nerves on display as he sang, and Dangerfield sailed through the audition. The judges were floored. “You might be my favorite so far,” Lopez beamed. “I swear! Wow!” She pushed for a quick vote, giddily bouncing in her chair and repeating “I want to vote!” like a toddler trying to get her way. Yes, Dangerfield managed to turn J.Lo into a pile of mush. Following Lopez’s yes vote, Randy Jackson offered one of his trademark over-the-top endorsements — “hundred million percent yes” is just the same as “100 percent yes,” Randy — and Steven Tyler chimed in by saying, “We’ve been waiting all day for you.” But Lopez still wasn’t finished gushing: “Keep the hair, keep the glasses, I like all of it,” she said, reiterating, “You’re my favorite.” In the hallway outside the judges’ room, Dangerfield was greeted by a group of friends, to whom he bragged about Lopez’s praise, saying it almost caused him to faint. But he had earned his right to gloat: Unlike his namesake Rodney, this Dangerfield got plenty of respect. What did you think of “American Idol” on Wednesday? Let us know in the comments! Mick Jagger And Sting Repping The Roc? Johnny Nunez Made It Happen

Hip-hop photographer recalls persuading rock-star duo and film mogul Harvey Weinstein to flash the Roc diamond, in Mixtape Daily. By Jayson Rodriguez Johnny Nunez Photo: MTV News Celebrity Favorites: Johnny Nunez In the playbook for rap stardom, few things are as essential as being photographed by Johnny Nunez. The New York photog has snapped some of the most iconic images in hip-hop, from Jay-Z and Nas sharing a champagne toast to Mick Jagger, Sting and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein each flashing the Roc diamond in a picture together. For the latter, Nunez exhibited his trademark charm to pull off the feat (anyone in New York City social circles can attest to this), but he endured a hostile environment in the process. Nunez has been reflecting on his career lately, with both a documentary on his life (“Shooting Stars”) previewing on the festival circuit and a New Era cap collaboration (to benefit the Eye Can Foundation for the blind). “A client of mine’s friend said [to him], ‘Why did you bring a photographer?’ ” Nunez told Mixtape Daily about snapping the Jagger, Sting and Weinstein pic that paid homage to Roc-A-Fella Records. “I looked back, and all I saw was all these ice grills [looking at me]. So I thought, ‘Wow, what am I gonna do?’ ” The event was a Vanity Fair party overseas, and Nunez had accompanied Damon Dash — he worked as the hip-hop mogul’s personal photographer — and his entourage. Nunez saw the three powerhouse celebrities together in the distance and put his hustle to work. “I said, ‘Excuse me, could I get a photo?’ And I heard the other photographers: ‘What is he doing?’ ” Nunez recalled. “I could feel the security guards wanting to yank me.” Sting agreed, and Nunez asked the singer if he could put his hands together in the diamond symbol made popular by Jay-Z as recognition of his and Dash’s label, Roc-A-Fella. Sting obliged but asked what the gesture meant. “It’s a universal symbol of love,” Nunez shot back. Weinsten also agreed to toss up the Roc. The Rolling Stones frontman hesitated, but Sting nudged his peer and soon all three cooperated. “I went back to the same guys [who were hating on me], and they said, ‘That’s what I’m talking about,’ ” Nunez recalled. “The moral of that story is, I try to do things at that very moment that either have never been done before or aren’t generic,” he added. “I try to be organic.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Lil Wayne Surfaces On DJ Khaled’s ‘Welcome To My Hood’

Rick Ross, Plies and T-Pain also appear on the Miami DJ’s latest posse cut. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne Photo: Getty Images Lil Wayne is getting back to one of the things he does best: tricking out collabos with his trademark lyricism. On Thursday (January 13), DJ Khaled’s latest star-studded posse cut and first Cash Money offering, “Welcome to My Hood” hit the Net , featuring bars from Weezy, fellow Florida rappers Rick Ross and Plies and rumored Young Money signee T-Pain . The track, crafted by the Renegades, Khaled and the Nasty Beatmakers, features the victorious, speaker-shattering, hometown-pumping energy typical of the DJ’s all-star collabos, with Pain belting lines like, “Everybody know everybody/ And if I got it, everybody got it,” over the steely, bass-heavy beat. Ross leads things off, balancing glossy images of Audemars Piguet-laced wrists and mortgage-payment-sized bar tabs with grimy street operations, wrapping up with, “The Ferrari just a front/ Got the Lambo in the back/ Told you we the best forever/ DJ Khaled handle that.” Plies follows with a souped-up, eardrum-busting flow, detailing the exploits of his city’s hardened thugs. “I know some n—as from my ‘hood that would’ve rocked Noriega/ I’m taking Noriega, n—a, the real Noriega,” the Fort Myers rapper spits about hometown hooligans capable of ripping apart the infamous Panamanian politician and drug kingpin — not the Queens rapper Noreaga. Wayne closes the track with lyrics that reference his return to the game — and Khaled-helmed collabos — after his 2010 prison stay . “Back from hell, cell 23/ Tell the warden kiss my ass, pockets are Mo’Nique,” Weezy rhymes, shrugging off the drama of the jail bid. He also briefly touches on the 2007 weapons arrest that landed him in the pen, spitting, “Sh– happens, and since I’m the sh–, I’m who it happened to.” The I Am Not a Human Being rapper finishes with lines about his single-minded focus on re-conquering the game, rhyming, “All that bullsh– is for the birds/ Throw some bread out/ Got it sewed up/ Check the thread count.” Khaled hinted to MTV News last year that the first single for the forthcoming We The Best Forever would get the Wayne treatment. “When I work with Wayne, I always get the most classic verses, like ‘We Taking Over,’ ” Khaled said. “And this verse with my new one, it’s … I’m not even gonna lie: It’s amazing. “It’s one of them anthems that I do,” he added. “The streets are gonna embrace it on another level. When you hear it you’re gonna be like, ‘This is what I’m talking about.’ It’s that anthem, I got them.” What do you think of DJ Khaled’s “Welcome to My Hood” record? Let us know in the comments! Kanye West wants to produce Bieber

Kanye West wants to produce Justin Bieber ‘s new album. The ‘Power’ hip-hop star has previously collaborated with Justin on a remix of his track ‘Runaway Love’, which he released last year, and teen sensation singer’s manager, Scooter Braun confirmed yesterday (05.01.11) they are planning to work together again. In an online web chat, Scooter said: “Justin and Kanye had a call, about a song they’re trying to work on together. Kanye wants to produce a bunch of new songs for his new album.” He wouldn’t, however, give away the title of the song or any ideas as to how it will sound. Justin, 16, has long had ties with the hip-hop and R ‘n’ B worlds, having been mentored by Usher after he was discovered on YouTube, and he recently appeared in a video from a studio with rapper P. Diddy where he was initiated into his Dirty Money crew, and taught how to do their trademark swaggering walk. Justin’s album, ‘My Worlds’ was named the third most successful of 2010, selling 5.8 million copies.

Flo Rida Cruises Into 2011 On ‘MTV New Year’s Bash’

Rapper rocks ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ and more hits during Times Square special. By Mawuse Ziegbe Flo Rida (file) Photo: Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images Flo Rida kicked off 2011 with not just a bang, but three of his biggest club bangers. The Southern MC took revelers on a hit-packed ride for “MTV New Year’s Bash” on Friday (December 31), kicking off his performance with the David Guetta-assisted smash “Club Can’t Handle Me.” Audience members went nuts when DJ Kronik dropped the booty-quivering thump of the club mainstay, and Flo, decked out in a gray pullover with a red Louis Vuitton scarf draped around his neck, crimson Nike kicks, red shades and a hefty Poe Boy chain, led the crowd with his supercharged energy. Hands shot in the air at Flo’s command, heralding the beefy rapper as he headed down the platform. But he didn’t confine the party to the stage, hopping in the crowd to fist-pump alongside fans and even let a couple partyers wail the chorus into his mic. Flo also hit the stage to rock his latest single, “Who Dat Girl.” Despite the frosty NYC weather outside, the Miami spitter kept the heat going indoors, ditching the sweater in favor of a white tank that showed off his trademark guns. Flo then switched to his 2009 dance-floor filler “Right Round” and pulled an amped fan in a snug animal-print dress onstage to groove alongside him. Both rocked out on the platform in the center of the audience, and Flo capped off his lucky fan’s moment in the spotlight by letting her wear his massive chain. MTV News caught up with Flo after getting the party started in Times Square, and the hitmaker dished about the secrets to making a surefire club jam. “To make a club hit, it’s gotta be like ear candy. I think the production has to stand out from all the songs that are out [and] have a great melody,” said Flo, whose tracks like “Right Round” and “Low” have shattered records. “People catch on to a melodic sound faster than anything, not just here in the States, just around the world.” He also added that in addition to the beat, a party-starting record has to have what he dubbed “club lyricism”: lyrics so catchy that anybody at a Flo show could “sing every word and you just hold the microphone out.” With a time-tested formula for crafting smashes already in his hitmaking arsenal, and new 2011 projects from touring to pushing his own new artists, Flo said his New Year’s resolution is all about spreading the wealth. “[I plan] to continue to give,” he said. “I feel like the more you give, the more you receive. It’s just a great feeling to give and not to borrow.” What did you think of Flo Rida’s performance at the “MTV New Year’s Eve Bash?” Let us know in the comments.

DJs Drama, Ill Will, Rockstar, More Make Our Top DJs Of 2010

It was a great year for street albums, and Mixtape Daily salutes the street kings. By Jayson Rodriguez, with additional reporting by Hillary Crosley, Rahman Dukes, Steven Roberts and Richard Sancho DJ Drama, DJ Holiday and DJ Scream Photo: Getty Images/ MTV News The mixtape game took a shot to the heart a few years ago when DJ Drama’s office was raided by the feds. Artists increasingly opted to make mixtapes that were essentially albums, projects produced without help from DJs and comprised mostly of original material. But slowly Gangsta Grillz began populating blogs, the same way they used to populate the streets, and those sites served as the new Burkinas. In the last 12 months, the mixtape circuit has never been healthier — just look at Dram still putting out his trademark rap heat and getting his slow jam on, pushing collections by the likes of Chris Brown, among other R&B stars. DJ Teknikz helped Travis Porter ink a deal with Jive Records. And Bigga Rankin scored an exec position with Young Jeezy’s CTE. Then there’s DJ Holiday and DJ Scream: both spin doctors break acts like Bo Jackson snapped bats. Meanwhile, DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar have become nearly ubiquitous with their onslaught of street albums.
