Tabloid: A Tawdry True Tale to Tickle Your Pickle [VIDEO]

Documentaries, while often interesting and sometimes downright enlightening, aren’t known for being sexy- out of the 20,340 movies in Mr. Skin’s database, only 170 are documentaries . So it’s always a sexciting event when a salacious R-rated documentary comes down the pike, and Tabloid, made by genre master Errol Morris , promises a plethora of prurient delights. Tabloid is the true story of beauty queen Joyce McKinney (seen at left) who in 1977 followed the Mormon missionary who had jilted her to England, took him to a cottage in the countryside, and had sex with him for three days. Those are the facts. Beyond that, the story gets murky- he says she kidnapped him, chained him to a bed and raped him, and she says it was true love peppered with a bit of kinky sex play. (About her lover/victim, Joyce famously said: “I loved him so much that I would have skiied naked down Mount Everest with a carnation up my nose if he had asked me to.”) Either way, it’s awfully stimulating, and the British media had a ball with it. Lil Wayne’s ‘Unplugged’ Is ‘For The Fans’

Industry insiders catch a screening of ‘MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged,’ premiering Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, MTV2 and MTV.com. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne performs during “Unplugged” Photo: MTV The music industry’s biggest movers and shakers were on hand Wednesday night for a screening of “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged.” Weezy’s “Unplugged” premieres Sunday at 9 pm ET/PT on MTV, MTV2 and MTV.com, but the specially invited guests gathered in New York City’s Bar Basque for an advanced preview. “I haven’t seen an intimate portrait of Lil Wayne in a while,” said Hanif Sumner, director of PR for The Source. “He’s been away, came back, had to jump into Young Money, and this is a good opportunity for us to see why we’re still fans of Lil Wayne. He did a new track off of Tha Carter IV that I didn’t expect, and he did a lot of joints that weren’t commercially all over the place but fans would know. So it’s really something for the fans.” Brian “B.Dot” Miller, content director for RapRadar.com, was also impressed. “I thought it was really good. Wayne definitely deserved to have his ‘Unplugged,’ ” he said. “I think he stands up against Lauryn Hill, the Jay-Z ‘Unplugged’ — he’s right there. The energy was there, Wayne was in the zone and, you know, he’s the best rapper alive.” While Miller placed Wayne’s special on equal footing with Hov’s 2001 “Unplugged” performance, Vibe music editor John Kennedy wasn’t ready to make comparisons. “I think his kind of stands on its own. I don’t know where it really compares with Jay’s. You know, Jay had the Roots; that was crazy. And LL [Cool J], like, there has been a lot of great ones. I think [Wayne] held his own, though.” For veteran journalist Shaheem Reid, the key to the New Orleans lyricist’s performance was his versatility. “Sitting down [and] watching the MTV ‘Unplugged’ is just a testament to the fact that Wayne is one of the premier performers — and not just hip-hop, but in all of music,” he said. “He’s hip-hop to the core, but he always brings in the rock element, he brings in a little bit of the R&B. He’s one of the biggest, if not the biggest, pop star in the world.” For longtime Weezy fans, “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged” puts a new twist on some old favorites. “The best thing about it was a lot of the songs that you really don’t have an appreciation for that you’re already familiar with — songs like ‘I’m Single,’ ‘How to Love’ and ‘Lollipop.’ I kinda got a better appreciation for it when you have live instrumentation and a lot of crowd participation,” said Kazeem Famuyide, online editor for The Source. “It was really dope, it was real intimate. Wayne put on a really great show, and he’s the most charismatic dude in hip-hop.” Don’t miss “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged,” premiering Sunday, June 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2, MTV and MTV.com. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Trailer: Four Lingering Questions

‘Twilight’ experts point out inconsistencies and omissions in the MTV Movie Awards-debuted sneak peek. By Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit Entertainment On Sunday morning, a few hours before the 2011 MTV Movie Awards went live and while the red carpet at the Gibson Amphitheatre was still a hive of pre-show activity, we welcomed three “Twilight” experts into the fray with a simple assignment: Take an early look at the “Breaking Dawn” teaser trailer, which we would be debuting during the Movie Awards, and let us know what you think. They more than came through. Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com , Laura Byrne-Cristiano of TwilightLexicon.com and Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com analyzed the trailer like only die-hard “Twilight” specialists can. But there was too much info to pack into one story . And now that a few days have passed since the trailer’s debut and the bloggers’ opinions are still fresh in our minds, we have a few lingering questions we want answered in the future. Two Wedding Rings? Early in the trailer, we see Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan wearing a large diamond-incrusted ring — a family heirloom, as explained in the book. But as Matthews pointed out, when Bella notices she is pregnant in the trailer, she is wearing a simple silver band. What gives? Will the two-ring situation be explained? Matthews thinks she knows the answer already. “I’m thinking it’s one of those things where the one ring really is an heirloom,” she told us. “You put it away and wear it on special occasions.” Too Hot for PG-13? Last summer, Summit Entertainment distribution chief Richie Fay assured us that, despite the book’s sex scenes and horror-like elements, the adaptation would not be rated R . That hasn’t stopped online talk, as Byrne-Cristiano put it, that “we’ve got to make this R.” Well, now that we’ve seen the first trailer, it seems regardless of the PG-13 rating, the flick is going to be pretty steamy. Just how hot? Though we’ve gotten a peek — Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen cracking a headboard mid-coitus and the duo taking a honeymoon skinny dip — the real question about the heat factor will have to wait until we glimpse a different scene: the famous one with the feathers . “There are no feathers on the bed,” she noted. “That’s a well-known point that everyone wants. So in that trailer, there are three moments, and there’s got to be another one.” What Else Has Changed? The eagle-eyed Hassell noted two small but significant changes from “New Moon” to “Breaking Dawn.” For one, Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the blond vampire Caius, seems to have a reworked ‘do . “His hair is A-plus!” she said. “A lot better than ‘New Moon.’ ” And Hassell also noted the Volturi’s thrones appear to have gotten a makeover. “It seems like the ones in ‘New Moon’ are more intricate,” she said. “The ones in ‘Breaking Dawn’ are very square and not as ornate.” It’s hard to say what accounts for such changes; the same production designer, for example, worked on both films. But it does raise the question: What else has changed in the world of “Twilight” for these final films? Will We See The Wedding Dress Before Opening Night? While the trailer showed us much more than many predicted — a shirtless Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black, Bella quizzically examining her pregnant belly — there was one thing we didn’t catch a glimpse of: Bella’s wedding dress. Might we see the gown in a subsequent trailer? Or will Summit hold that back until the film itself? “I’m hoping beyond hope that we get the wedding dress in the next trailer. I’m not holding my breath. I think we’ll have to wait,” said Hassel, adding, “I hope it’s something classic that fits in with [author] Stephenie Meyer’s vision. But Kristen’s gorgeous. She’ll look great in anything.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .

Lil Wayne’s ‘MTV Unplugged’ A Solo Gig

‘MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged’ airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Lil Wayne Photo: Frank Micelotta/MTV/PictureGroup During his MTV2 “Unplugged” special, Lil Wayne aims to give fans his all, so don’t expect him to share the stage with any guests. “If you ever go to a Lil Wayne show, you’ll see he, as in I, don’t bring nobody onstage unless they are Young Money,” Weezy told MTV News’ Sway Calloway after the taping of “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged,” which will air on MTV2, MTV and MTV.com on Sunday. “If they are not Young Money and they are just an artist that I’ve done a song with and they’re in the town that night and they ask, ‘Can I come out?’ Say, ‘Yeah,’ ” he said. “But if you go to a Lil Wayne show and you’re a real Lil Wayne fan, you’ll know: He’s up there from start to finish by his self.” Part of Weezy’s hesitation to bring others onstage dates back to his early days as one-fourth of the Hot Boys with Juvenile, B.G. and Turk. “Ain’t have nobody screamin’ over the mic with me. I just never been about that because I was always in a group with three other guys when I was comin’ up,” Tunechi said. For all of the reasons he gives, in the end, Wayne is just a little bit selfish, and after releasing eight solo albums, nine official mixtapes and selling more than 10 million copies, who can blame him? “I also don’t bring a lot of people up there because, simple and plain, this is ‘MTV Unplugged,’ and this is Lil Wayne’s ‘MTV Unplugged,’ ” he said. Don’t miss “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged,” premiering Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2, MTV and MTV.com. Related Videos Lil Wayne Goes ‘Unplugged’

‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding ‘Tough’ For The Ladies, Kellan Lutz Says

‘They’re wearing these beautiful dresses, but they’re skintight,’ he tells MTV News of difficult filming conditions. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Kellan Lutz Photo: MTV News Speaking to the “Twilight” fans out there, it’s safe to assume that, by now, we’ve all seen the chills, thrills and heart-stopping moments contained within the “Breaking Dawn” trailer that debuted during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. (We’re especially sure these Twilighters have seen the trailer .) One of the biggest squeal-getters, as far as favorite, swoon-worthy moments are concerned, was the brief glimpse of Bella and Edward’s wedding. And no matter how gorgeous everything appears in the trailer, the members of the cast have been telling us that the actual shooting of the wedding scene was not quite as glamorous, thanks to a few days of serious downpour. When MTV News caught up with Kellan Lutz on the red carpet at the Movie Awards on Sunday, we asked him to weigh in on his experience filming in the less-than-desirable rain showers. SEE PHOTOS OF ALL OF THE “TWILIGHT” STARS AT THE MOVIE AWARDS. “I just feel bad for the women on the movie,” Lutz said. “They’re wearing these beautiful dresses, but they’re skintight, and of course a lot of us are playing vampires so you have to not shiver, because vampires don’t get cold. It was tough. It was really cold. A lot of times, the heaters went off and it rained, so it made the whole climate even more cold.” Lutz’s co-star Peter Facinelli told us that, thanks to movie magic, we won’t be seeing any of the rain or shivering “Twilight” castmembers once the film is finished. “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from ‘Twilight’], and it was raining. But you never see it on film,” Facinelli said of some editing tricks. “With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film. They block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Was ‘Beautiful’ But ‘Freezing’

‘I just wish we had a little bit more vampire clouds and we weren’t getting drenched on,’ Peter Facinelli tells MTV News. By MTV News staff Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit Entertainment When the trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” debuted during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, fans were treated to a tease of the long-awaited, highly anticipated wedding scene between Edward and Bella. In the trailer, fans see Bella’s veil and hair clip, Edward decked out in his wedding-day finest, and their friends and family showering them with love in a beautiful field. However, the emotional warmth of the scene was not mirrored by the weather while the cast was filming the pivotal scene earlier this year. Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Cullen matriarch Esme, explained to MTV News, “It was brutal. It was freezing, it was raining, we were in corsets.” Her onscreen hubby, Peter Facinelli, admitted that, regardless of the terrible weather, there still were some sunny spots, thanks to the killer locale. “It was beautiful — the setting was beautiful,” he said. “I just wish we had a little bit more vampire clouds and we weren’t getting drenched on.” SEE PHOTOS OF ALL OF THE “TWILIGHT” STARS AT THE MOVIE AWARDS. Tinsel Korey explained that the wedding scene finally confirmed it: Bella is most certainly Team Edward. “It’s been Team Jacob, Team Edward, and now, definitely Team Edward,” she said. Billy Burke, who plays Bella’s dad in the flick and is clearly upset by the news of the pair’s wedding in the trailer, teased the impending drama fans will see when the film opens in November. “I think it’s pretty obvious that there’s some discomfort in it, so I’ll leave it at that,” he said. “Eclipse” won five prizes at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , including Best Kiss, Best Movie, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance and Best Fight. After getting a sneak peek, a number of “Twilight” experts and bloggers contributors already have taken to the Web to share their opinions about the trailer. “I am blown away. I can’t believe they showed as much as they did,” Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com said enthusiastically. “I’m so excited. I didn’t think they would hit as many points as they did. I am very pleased with Bill Condon and how he treated it.” “Completely amazing, completely mind-blowing. Up until this my favorite trailer was the ‘New Moon’ trailer, and Bill Condon definitely got Chris Weitz; it’s got everything in it that you need,” gushed Laura Byrne-Cristiano, who owns TwilightLexicon.com . “Well, wow! That’s pretty steamy for a PG-13 movie,” she continued. “The thing that made me laugh in a good way right away was Rob Pattinson, gripping that headboard and hearing that crack noise is spectacular.” Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com said, “The trailer was fantastic. It had way more than I thought it would but it still just wasn’t quite enough. … I was so excited that they had Bella pregnant. The fans are excited about that and we got to see it. I am thrilled; can’t wait to see the next.” Now we want to know what you think! Head over to Your MTV to upload your most animated and detailed video responses.
