It is that time once again, THGers. The time to unveil the finalists for, and eventually the winner of, THG’s prestigious, arbitrary, 7th Annual Celebrity of the Year honor. Between now and the end of 2013, we will be counting down the 10 stars who provided us with the best moments, stories, scandals and entertainment value. We kicked off the countdown earlier with a smoldering Kate Upton at #10. Now we present our Celebrity of the Year Finalist #9 … Walter White! Breaking Bad Clip – I Am The One Who KNOCKS! Strange as it may seem to put a fictional TV character on our year-end list … this is not your average TV character. There will never be another Walter White. Developed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and portrayed by Bryan Cranston, Walt (and later his Heisenberg persona) became iconic. Once a promising chemist and co-founder of a multi-billion dollar company, we first met Walter as a meek, nerdy, down on his luck chemistry teacher. Diagnosed with lung cancer, Walt started cooking crystal meth to ensure his family’s security … only to gradually become more dark and villainous. Cranston won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and will undoubtedly win a fourth in the fall of 2014. His brilliance as Walter over six years was a triumph, and the rise, fall and journey of Walter made Breaking Bad one of, if not the best show in TV history. The dynamic character’s unforgettable run came to a dramatic conclusion in September 2013, earning WW a spot on THG’s Celebrity of the Year list.
