5 Ways To Make Life Transitions Easier

Read more:

No matter what direction life takes you, there are always times when you have to make the transition from one environment to another. Whether you are trying to decompress on vacation after a long stint at work or are just getting back after time off, there is a lot to think about when changing one’s mindset based on one’s surroundings.  Being thrown into a new atmosphere can be a drastic change, especially when you find yourself in a stricter environment. Maybe you only had a short day’s notice and there was not enough time to mentally prepare for the daily grind, or perhaps you have had time to acquaint yourself with the idea of being productive, setting your sights on future goals that you have had in the back of your mind for months. It can be weird to think about changing the pace of one’s life, going from sleeping late and beach reading to the daunting task of focusing one’s mind, but there are definitely ways to ease the transition and make the changes flow into every day life. Middle grounds can be tricky to navigate, but these five tips below can help you get past the uneasy feelings of transitions and go full-force into a change for the better. 1. Make a schedule that works for you. It can be simple things like grabbing the same train every morning or getting breakfast from your favorite coffee shop on your way to the office. The more things that become predictable or relaxing, the easier it will be for you to get into a productive mindset. Other ideas would be to organize one’s clothes and necessities for work the night before, as to leave the next morning a stress-free commute, as well as create a check-off list for anything important you might forget. Creating the semblance of normalcy from the beginning is a great way to start off in a new environment, as it sets a precedent from the get-go! 2. List all of your goals out for yourself. If you start grounding your mind in the tasks you have to complete and what you want out of your work, it is possible to gain relaxation while still being in work mode. Having everything in order is always a great way to ease stress levels and make transitioning into a new environment all the more smooth. Goals are healthy, optimistic ways to remind yourself that you have dreams, ambitions, and places you want to go. It’s important to keep the faith, even when the transitions seem difficult. Once the transition period is over, all that will be there are the goals that you set for yourself! 13 Tips To Keep Healthy, By Expressing Your Creativity 3. Create a balance early on. Don’t expect yourself to be fully absorbed in your work right away or you are just setting yourself up for failure. Slowly ease into the new routine, but be kind to yourself. While you should attempt to jump right in to a new routine on the first day, there is only so much transition you can take on in one day. Keep busy, but take breaks if you need them. Take a nice lunch out and decompress. When you’ve been out of the game for a while, it can be hard to It takes time to get into a full routine and gain a sense of what one is supposed to do with the time they are given. 4. Keep yourself healthy and well-rested. When you’re stressed out AND over-tired, everything just seems worse and you are unable to focus on the new-ness of the situation with clarity. Getting a good night’s sleep, a warm cup of coffee or whatever perks you up in the morning, and a delicious lunch while on-the-go can all be important points that help you be productive, yet also keep a strong well-being throughout the day. The mind is clearer when the body can focus! 5. Be positive about the changes you’re dealing with. Keeping the optimism and elev8ing yourself in terms of what you can accomplish is a healthy way to live your life. It’s important to continually remind yourself that you’re a strong, independent individual with lots of strengths and ambition. This transition is only a stepping stone to your eventual success in life and there is no reason you can’t pull through it. You can do it! 5 Ways To Prepare Yourself For A Stress-Free Vacation

Here’s what I wrote about this Got Green 2 track when it first leaked: “Is there any Mark Henry beat that I’ve disliked? I don’t think so, so props to him for that. I especially loved the transition during the hook as the horns come in to transform the beat into a highly-charged ride that Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : iLLVibes Discovery Date : 11/03/2011 19:30 Number of articles : 2

Lil Wayne ‘You & I’ Sneak Peek Hits The Net

Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex previews melodic track believed to be from DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: C. Flanigan/ Getty Images Lil Wayne made the transition from star to superstar with his extraordinary work ethic, releasing a slew of mixtape material and reaching the tipping point with 2008’s Tha Carter III. Since his release from prison late last year, however, the Cash Money Records artist has been conservative about putting out new official offerings, aside from his own “6 Foot 7 Foot.” But a snippet of a new Weezy track, “You & I,” surfaced online on Thursday (February 24) and it appears to be from a forthcoming DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. “All we do is fuss and f— / Over this and that and such and such,” Wayne raps on the number. “Man, I think I gotta toughen up/ Love knocks you down/ And it feels like I been sucker-punched/ But I love her like new money/ I ain’t going nowhere like Al Bundy/ I’m like how can I leave her?/ Love is a bitch but everybody need her/ Inhale, exhale, I just need a breather/ Call a timeout and watch the cheerleaders/ And when I’m not feeling the same, I just drive my Bugatti down memory lane/ And come back to you.” In addition to “”6 Foot” and “You & I,” Wayne has loaned his rhymes to a remix of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” , Birdman’s “Fire Flame” and a Super Bowl edition of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow.” Wayne is scheduled to debut his “6 Foot 7 Foot” video on MTV soon. 50 Cent To Star In Crime Drama ‘Freelancers’

Movie will reportedly be directed by Jessy Terrero (‘Soul Plane’). By Aly Semigran 50 Cent Photo: C. Flanigan/ FilmMagic Like many before him, 50 Cent is making the transition from hip-hop to Hollywood. The rapper, who has a finger in various projects — from his own film-production company, called Cheetah Vision Films, to distributing a line of earphones — has signed on for yet another movie role. According to Variety , Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will star in an upcoming crime drama called “Freelancers,” in which he’ll play the son of a murdered New York City police officer who joins the force and finds himself “on a team of rogue Gotham cops.” The movie will reportedly be directed by Jessy Terrero (“Soul Plane”), who has previously worked with 50 on some of his most-memorable videos such as the MTV Video Music Award-nominated “Candy Shop.” The latest news is just another step in 50 Cent’s plan to move from music to movies. Making his big-screen debut in 2005’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” the star shocked fans a few years later when he tweeted a picture of himself looking frighteningly thin in preparation for his role in his passion project “Things Fall Apart.” In fact, the 35-year-old seems to be continuing to take his craft very seriously. When MTV News caught up with him at this year’s Sundance Film Festival — which he attended alongside his friend, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., to promote their newly launched film company, Mayweather Productions — 50 seemed as ambitious as ever. He not only said he feels as though he’s “growing” as an actor , but also that he hopes to have a career akin to trailblazing Oscar-winner Sidney Poitier . As 50 put it, “Shoot for the stars if you would do that.” Does 50 Cent have the acting chops to make it in Hollywood? Sound off below! Kevin Cossom’s ‘Baby I Like It’ Video Captures ‘Energy Of The Track’

Diddy and Fabolous are featured on the songwriter-turned-solo artist’s first single. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Matt Elias Kevin Cossom Photo: MTV News For songwriter Kevin Cossom , the inspiration for his single “Baby I Like It” was simple. “I wish I had a big grand story to explain it, but it’s basically things that go on at a party,” he told MTV News from the “Baby I Like It” video set in Los Angeles. “It’s really about ‘boy meets girl.’ “We’re all out having a good time, and you see something you like,” Cossom continued. “Pretty girls in the club. That’s what it’s about. And with the video, we’re trying to capture the energy of the track. And with the song, we were trying to capture the energy of the party.” The track is the first effort from Cossom’s debut album , which is due later this year on Jive Records. The upstart signed through Grammy-winning producer Nate “Danja” Hill’s label, NARS (New Age Rock Stars). “Baby I Like It” features Diddy and Fabolous , and the video was directed by Colin Tilley (Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, 50 Cent.). With a clip in place and the support of several artists whom he’s penned hits for, including Keri Hilson, Cossom is set to make the transition from behind-the-scenes player to headline act. “It feels good. We definitely got the label 100 percent behind us,” Cossom told MTV News last year. “We did a lot of grinding on our own, and finally, I feel like I’m getting the proper opportunity I deserve and we deserve as a team. So it feels good. Everybody is saying they like the record and we’re getting a great response. It’s only the beginning. We got to keep pushing.” Are you looking forward to Kevin Cossom’s solo work? Image credit: ResilientPLANET Yesterday I posted about the new film from the creators of the End of Suburbia . "Peak Fertilizer" To Make Manure A Valuable Commodity

Manure, runny. Image credit: USDA Synthetic fertilizer is likely to become significantly more costly for US farmers. This trend will make manure a valuable commodity once again (as it was prior to the 1950s). There are two main reasons for the anticipated cost rise. 1.) Traditional US natural gas production has already gone ‘past peak,’ while natural gas is increasingly needed for producing electricity. * (Ammonia fertilizer is made from natural gas, remember.) If a Federal climate bill is ever passed, the transition from coal- to… Read the full story on TreeHugger
