Tuesday was the one year anniversary of the May 22 Manchester Arena bombing that left twenty-three people dead and hundreds wounded. Ariana Grande had already performed a powerful trubute to the victims and her fellow survivors just two days earlier. To mark the anniversary, she sent out a much more direct message. Ariana tweeted from the heart, writing: “Thinking of you all today and every day.” Here she included a bee emoji, or beemoji . The bee is the symbol of Manchester. “I love you with all of me.” She is so good and so pure. “And am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day” There is no easy or perfect way to address a tragic terrorist bombing that left dozens of children injured or dead. Some would just put up an image in memory of the fallen and of the shattered lives. After all, there are situations for which words fail. Others would pen a miniature essay, hoping that if they say enough, they can somehow live up to the gravity of the anniversary that they are mourning. But Ariana kept her tweet short and simple. She said what she needed to say. Besides, she had already said so much in a recent interview. Last week, Ariana spoke to Time . “There are so many people who have suffered such loss and pain. The processing part is going to take forever.” Trauma can last a lifetime. “Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world.” She is so sweet. “I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day.” Remember, she’s a fellow survivor of that terrible suicide bomber’s attack. “I wish there was more that I could fix. You think with time it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it.” We know that it might sound fake, but recovery from trauma is possible. But it takes time. “But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful.” Earlier this month, Ariana and Mac Miller broke up . That is not in any way comparable to the trauma of surviving a terrorist attack, but that has to be on her mind, too. However … she may have a distraction from her last relationship. In the form of her new relationship. According to People’ s report, they have been able to confirm that Ariana is casually dating Pete Davidson . Pete is part of the cast of Saturday Night Live . In fact, when he joined, he was the youngest person ever cast on SNL . He is also frequently brought up in internet arguments about which person on SNL is the most attractive, though he, like everyone else, generally loses to Kate McKinnon. According to the reports, Ariana and Pete’s relationship has “just started.” And it is said that “it’s very casual.” The two were even spotted togther at the Billboard Music Awards. “After Ariana’s performance, they were backstage and he had his arm around her.” Awww! “They seemed very lovey-dovey. According to ABC News , a sign warned that geese were close-by and the golfers thought they were keeping their distance. However, what they didn’t know was that one stealthy killa was creeping up behind them making sure they didn’t get close to the fam. The goose attacked the four golfers and Isaac in particular got the worst of the animal’s fury. Devon Gilson-Pitts , whose husband is an assistant golf coach for Blissfield High School, thought it was the perfect time to pull out her camera and take pics. In 2016, The Willis Clan star Toby Willis was arrested for child-rape . It was immediately suspected that the deeply religious father of 12 homeschooled children had raped his own child . Jessica Willis, his oldest child, is speaking out about her father, who is thankfully serving a lengthy sentence in prison for the horrors that he perpetrated upon his family. Jessica, now 26 and married, is opening up for the first time about her father’s sexual and physical abuse. In a heartbreaking post to her website, Jessica Willis details her father’s abuse . “As far back as I can remember, I was sexually abused by my father.” She’s not exaggerating, either. “I figure I was around three years old in some of the earliest memories.” Horrifying. “Initially, I had no way to know that anything was wrong. When I did eventually come to realize the fact, I had no way to accurately express what was happening to me.” This is not uncommon at all in abuse victims. Many survivors also find it difficult to speak because they instinctively fear retaliation. “There followed immense shame, distrust and hurt throughout my childhood — even in the happy times. Thus ran the two parallel storylines that became my life.” Like countless children who endure abuse, she felt that what was happening was wrong, but did not fully question it. That changed when she was 9 and her mother asked her some questions about how her father acted, to which she responded by nodding her head. After that, she heard her mother raise her voice to her father for the first time. “I didn’t understand that my father simply denied any wrongdoing and became more secretive and dangerous from then on.” Pro-tip: if you suspect that your spouse is molesting or otherwise abusing your child, go to the police, not to your spouse. Things did not get better for Jessica from that point on. Over time, her father tightened his grip on his growing family. “Suffice it to say my father controlled the family in every single area of life.” Even when they became reality stars, they were no safer than before. “Underneath the outward foundations of family, religion and homeschooling with an emphasis in the arts, there was a constant current of manipulation, domination, fear, and favor.” Like countless children who grow up under those circumstances, she could not conceive that her life could be different or better. “There was very little room inside the bubble of my world to imagine that there was any alternative.” Like countless abuse survivors, reflecting upon her childhood fills her with disgust. “Looking back now, it’s almost impossible to face the fact of what my life once used to be.” When you are living through trauma like this, your mind conjures up coping mechanisms that “help” you to adapt to the unspeakable. “Many things were normal for me that should have never been met with anything other than outrage.” “The abuse developed and ebbed at various intervals over the years and into puberty.” Over time, he seemed to lose some interest in sexually abusing her. “The most graphic sexual abuse faded off for me when I was around seventeen years old but many inappropriate actions and attentions continued.” She came to the grim realization that she was not his only victim. “I feel like I truly knew that certain other members of my family were being sexually abused and I felt they knew this about me too. Conversations were had, tears were cried and we questioned how to ‘deal’ with the ‘situation.'” She was almost 23 before something happened that caused the coping mechanisms that she had developed begin to break down. “I came into my hotel room that night to find my mother and some of my sisters sitting on the bed crying with that look on their face I had seen so many times before.” Sometimes, it takes one event to shatter the denial. “The coldest, blackest pit opened up in my stomach because no words needed to be said for me to know something had happened.” Some survivors are haunted by needless guilt and the feeling that they failed to protect their younger siblings from suffering as they suffered. It is never their fault. “How was I here again? I could not stay in denial about my past because it obviously wasn’t staying in the past even though at times I had tried so hard to forgive and forget.” Part of what makes PTSD so difficult is the P — for post . Everything that you’ve been denying just to survive comes back to you. Even if you aren’t yet safe. “Things were not over. They had never been over. Sexual abuse was still happening.” Eventually, she wrote 14 pages of details of what her father had done to her. She showed it to her mother, who was outraged. “I had taken my first step towards speaking out, but I had shared my story with another victim trapped in the same prison as me.” Sadly, many children who are abused find that the only people who know are also victims. “My father lashed out at both of us with whatever threats necessary to maintain his control and began consistently threatening my mom with the lives of the entire family.” Her father fits the profile of a potential family-annihilator very specifically. When they fear losing control, they can turn turn a house of horrors into a house of hostages. “My father sought to stamp out my rebellion and became increasingly violent towards me even in front of the family.” It was this abuse, from assaulting her in front of the family on a tour bus to beating her with a belt, that made her realize that his threats of violence if she tried to leave were no longer effective. Just before her 24th birthday, she finally made her escape. “Around 4 months after I left, another friend stepped forward to save the rest of my family. He reported my father for suspicion of sexual abuse and the official investigation started. The case was given to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.” And yes, she helped. “When they contacted me, I went in and ended up speaking with them the whole rest of that day.” She had an entire lifetime’s worth of unspeakable trauma to share. And that was just about what had happened to her . “I was able to give them a long and confident testimony which was eventually used to create the arrest warrant.” Her father was, of course, arrested. Given the limits of the US legal system, he was sentenced to 40 years, and he will be required to serve all of that time. Jessica is now married to the man who first helped her to come to terms with what had happened to her. At this point, if you follow Teen Mom gossip even the tiniest little bit, you're familiar with Catelynn Lowell's recent mental health woes. She's struggled with anxiety for several years, and things got worse when she gave birth to her daughter Nova three years ago. She had a particularly bad case of postpartum depression that she's still dealing with, she suffers from panic attacks, and she just revealed that she was also recently diagnosed with PTSD . Last fall, she and Tyler learned they were expecting another child, but then she had a miscarriage, and it affected both of them deeply. It was so hard on Catelynn that she began having suicidal thoughts, and so made the decision to check herself into a treatment center to get a handle on things. She spent several weeks there, and a few weeks after completing her treatment, she went back for another round because she still didn't feel well. Right now, she's been home for nearly a month, and it seems like she's doing well. But as always, Teen Mom OG is a bit behind real life, so we're just now seeing the beginning of Cate's stay in rehab. And as we see in this sneak peek for the upcoming episode, she definitely dealt with some rough issues there. In the clip, Catelynn receives a visit from Tyler, Nova, and Maci Bookout, which is really nice to see — we knew they were close, but not close enough for Maci to fly across the country to see her! Catelynn gives out some hugs, and then they all sit down for a little chat. After Cate asks Maci about her flight and remarks about Taylor staying home with all three kids, Maci asks her what she's been doing during her treatment. “Tons of therapy,” she answers, “and group therapy, trauma classes. It's been really good though, honestly.” We can believe her — it does look like she's feeling better already. “So what was going on?” Maci asks next. “Anything happen, just life?” “Well, no, really,” Catelynn tells her. “Me and Tyler actually got pregnant and I had a miscarriage.” Here's where it gets extra rough, because as we learned earlier in the season, Maci and Taylor had a miscarriage recently as well. She tells Catelynn that, and it's really just a very sad moment. Cate tells her that she's sorry, and Maci says that they haven't told anyone about it yet. “I think it's another one of those things that makes it … it doesn't make the pain easier, it just makes the experience easier, to talk about it,” Maci says. “It doesn't help anybody to pretend that it didn't happen, or that that baby didn't exist.” Tyler, who's been looking so sad during the entire conversation, adds “it may not have been a fully developed baby in the womb, but it was in our hearts.” Watch the full scene in the video below, but be warned — it really is pretty intense:

Getty Images Teen Girl Accuses Three Fellow Students Of Rape, Possibly Contracted HIV A horrifying story is coming out of Miami, Florida where a teenager says she was raped multiple times and possibly contracted an incurable virus. Local 10 News reports that a 14-year-old girl at Miami Carol City Senior High School is accusing three boys of raping her on different occasions. The girl told authorities that in two of the incidents she made it clear she was uncomfortable and at one point was “pulled into a restroom” by her sweater. “I was so shocked and I was kind of traumatized, and I was scared in that moment that when I was in the restroom with him, I was never going to leave,” the girl said. The girl’s mother now says investigators told her that one of the boy’s relatives came forward and said he was HIV positive — a claim the boy’s family later took back. Local 10 News reports that the three students were suspended and the girl has since withdrawn from the school. Image via Scott Olson/Getty Shooting At L.A. High School Leaves 2 Shot Today, a Los Angeles high school has become the third school to have a shooting in the past week or so. There was the shooting at the Texas high school on the Jan 22 and the shooting at the Kentucky high school just two days later. According to NBCNews , a 12-year-old girl at Belmont High School has been arrested for shooting a 15-year-old boy in the head and a girl of the same age in the wrist. The boy is listed in serious condition. A woman and two other students were taken to the hospital for minor injuries as well. A girl was seen being taken out of the school in handcuffs, it isn’t confirmed that she was the shooter, but it’s pretty likely from what we can tell. Prayers up for the boy who was shot in the head. In a recent appearance on the feminist podcast Morado Lens , Dawson revealed that she experienced sexual abuse as a child. The actress told hosts Cindy Rodrigues and Natalie Fairfan about how the experience altered her perspective on facing similar occurrences as an adult, both inside and outside of the entertainment industry. She explains how her experiences shaped her mindset saying, “I was raped and molested as a child, so for me, the world was like that since I was a child. So when I saw it in the workplace, it wasn’t foreign to me. It was like, well, that even happens within the family. It happens with people that are supposed to take care of you when you’re a child.” Within that same moving episode, Dawson discussed the aftermath of her cousin, 26-year-old Veneza Ines Vasquez’s, sudden death. She found her unresponsive in her home last year, and that experience shifted her outlook on life, making her more grateful than ever. I don’t wanna be marinated in the upset, because I have a lot of trauma and sadness to dwell on if I want to. But there’s so much beauty and so many things to be grateful for.
