Nick Cannon Thinks Travis Scott Betrayed Black People by Knocking Up Kylie Jenner

Nick Cannon thinks Travis Scott is a traitor to his race because he got Kylie Jenner pregnant. Okay, that isn’t entirely true: Nick Cannon thinks Travis Scott is a traitor to his race partially because he got Kylie Jenner pregnant. While appearing on BET’s Raq Rants this week, Cannon took Scott to task for a couple decisions he recently made as an African-American. In short, the America’s Got Talent host thinks the rapper has no appreciation for his culture. One basis for this conclusion is Scott agreeing to perform at halftime of next month’s Super Bowl alongside Maroon 5 and Big Boi. Scott had previously received flak for this move from Al Sharpton , who slammed the artist for supporting a league (the NFL) that has cast out someone protesting civil rights injustices in America (Colin Kaepernick). Kaepernick is the former 49ers quarterback who remains under for kneeling during the national anthem in order to call attention to police brutality in this country. “I’m team Kaepernick all day,” Cannon said on BET, explaining why he’s not angry at Big Boi for the planned Super Bowl halftime show, at least not compared to his feelings on Scott: “To me, I call it cultural equity. So, we’re not mad at Big Boi for being on the Super Bowl – he’s for the people. But for someone like Travis Scott, he’s got to walk gingerly.” Ouch , huh? Cannon is doing everything here but calling Scott an “Uncle Tom,” and a major reason for doing so apparently is the child Scott produced by sleeping with Jenner. “It’s more about truly having integrity to who you are in your music, your art form, the people you choose to interact with, the people you choose to procreate with,” Cannon explained. “That decision [to have a baby with Jenner] wasn’t for the culture, but we not mad at you.” Wasn’t for the culture . That’s definitely a new take. ONE, how many people out there have kids with their “culture” in mind? TWO, Scott most definitely did not plan to have little Stormi. The pregnancy was an accident. Cannon, who dated Kim Kardashian way back in the day, was put on the spot in this interview about his past dating white women — and he responded as follows: “I love white women, let’s set the record straight. But that’s the thing, it’s cultural equity at the end of the day.” We’re not saying anything more here about the weird pregnancy take, but for the record: Billboard reported last week that Scott agreed to perform at the Super Bowl in Atlanta only after the NFL agreed to donate $500,000 to an organization called Dream Corps, which fights for social justice. Aware of the criticism that has come his way, Scott recently released a statement that reads: I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.

Not So Fast, La Flame: It Looks Like Colin Kaepernick Didn’t Actually Approve Travis Scott’s Super Bowl Performance

Source: Paul Marotta / Getty Colin Kaepernick Never Talked To Travis Scott About The Super Bowl Oh, things are getting MESSY messy… Earlier this week, what can only be described as an attempted Kris Jenner clean up hit the internet, with sources claiming that Travis Scott is only doing the Super Bowl halftime show because he got the green light from Colin Kaepernick before hand. Fans in support of Kaep and boycotting the NFL were surprised to hear that he would approve of such a thing, but it seemed to ease the criticism the Houston rapper has been getting since announcing his decision to perform. That is…until news broke from people close to Colin that he actually never approved of Travis’ performance in the first place. Hot 97 and Apple Music’s E Bro was the first to let the public know this information was all wrong as he retweeted the initial exclusive report from Variety, which claimed Travis Scott consulted with Colin before confirming his performance. E Bro claims that Kaep “did not approved this bulls**t!” Kap did not approve this bullshit! Get the fuck outta here…. https://t.co/yyMVAXQB3k — El Viejo Ebro (@oldmanebro) January 16, 2019 Not only did Colin’s girlfriend Nessa retweeted E Bro’s sentiment, adding that the people “need to stop lying” about the situation–but Kaepernick also retweeted the sentiment along with others to his own Twitter page. FACTS @EBRO !!! THEY NEED TO STOP LYING. https://t.co/vhNpxLtHtE — NESSA (@nessnitty) January 16, 2019 Nessa kept on going with her disapproval of the aforementioned article, adding, “there is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against [Kaepernick] PERIOD.” There is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against @Kaepernick7 PERIOD. #stoplying https://t.co/0HB6kcWJRG — NESSA (@nessnitty) January 16, 2019 Though the initial report states that a conversation between Kaepernick and Scott took place, the details of that actual conversation aren’t so clear–but it did imply Colin was somewhat understanding of Travis’ performance because the NFL agreed to donate $500,000 to the social justice organization Dream Corps. So there you have it. Colin Kaepernick definitely isn’t going to be singing along to “SICKOMODE” during the halftime show this year.

Yeah, Ok: Rob Kardashian Claims Dinner With Alexis Skyy Wasn’t A Shot At Blac Chyna

Credit: DJDM/WENN.com Rob Kardashian out here being messy. Over the weekend Love & Hip Hop star Alexis Skyy blasted Blac Chyna , claiming the ex-stripper was cool one second and started bugging out the next…all at a party both ladies attended. According to Skyy, Chyna threw a drink, at which point the altercation turned into a physical fight. On Monday, Rob Kardashian posted Skyy as his #WCW —despite her very recent beef with his baby moms—and hours later Skyy was cooking Rob a full course meal at what appeared to be Kris Jenner ‘s home. He claims he wasn’t being petty , though. Me and Alexis known each other for 5 years so stop with that https://t.co/511P3Os4Iv — ROBERT KARDASHIAN (@robkardashian) January 15, 2019 Damn i was just trying to eat some good food ,,, GOODnight world — ROBERT KARDASHIAN (@robkardashian) January 15, 2019 Come on Rob…there isn’t that much coincidence in the world. In case you missed Alexis Skyy’s account of what went down between her and Chyna, here’s her side of things: “I am, like, the nicest person in the world,” she began. “I’m sitting down, minding my business. Somebody said, ‘Yo, Chyna is at the party, she wants to kick it wit you.’ So I went over there, I sat with her, we kicked it, we had a drink or two.” “After the second drink we had some Red Bull,” she continued “…and out of nowhere this b*tch starts, ‘B*tch, you gotta get the f*ck up out of my section.’ I said, ‘Who the f*ck are you talking to?’ She’s like, ‘You gotta get up right now.’ So at that point, she starts throwing a drink…we start throwing hands. So from there on, whatever happened, happened. I got kicked out.” Do you think Rob Kardashian had dinner with Alexis Skyy just to throw a shot at his ex? Photo: WENN

Report: Travis Scott Consulted With Colin Kaepernick About His Super Bowl LIII Halftime Gig

Source: Paul Marotta / Getty Join Our Text Club To Get The Latest Music, Entertainment, Contests And Breaking News On Your Phone. Text BOX to 24042 to join! Ever since it was rumored and then eventually confirmed that  Travis Scott  would be performing at halftime of Super Bowl LIII, the Mo. City rapper has been met with criticism on both sides, mainly due to the NFL’s treatment of exiled quarterback  Colin Kaepernick . Kaepernick has been out of football for two seasons now as he was allegedly blacklisted for his on-field protest against police brutality. Some believe that Scott’s participation is a disrespectful motion to Kaepernick, Black Lives Matter and those who have effectively protested watching and attending NFL games for what has occurred to Kaepernick, sources say that Scott consulted with Kaepernick about his involvement with the Super Bowl halftime show. According to Variety : “A source close to Scott said that while the two did not necessarily agree, they emerged from the conversation with mutual respect and understanding.” The insider said that Scott defended his decision by insisting the show could allow more light to be shone on the cause of social justice. He reportedly refused to confirm his participation in the Feb. 3 performance unless the NFL donated $500,000 to a social justice cause of Scott’s choice. That cause wound up being Dream Corps, a nonprofit organization that specializes in social justice issues. “I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in,” Scott said when announcing his Super Bowl Halftime Show appearance. “I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.” RELATED:  Should Travis Scott Still Perform At The Super Bowl? ‘LHHNYS9’ Recap: Yandy’s Foster Child Drama Puts Her Own Kids In Jeopardy

Source: Gary Gershoff / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop New York is a boring hodgepodge of issues. Yandy has been harboring a teenage girl that she mentors, named Infinity. Basically, Infinity is a foster child who hates the care she’s in and often runs away so Yandy decides to take her in. However, Jonathan makes the great point that if Yandy is fostering a minor without permission then she’s breaking the law. Hold that thought. Meanwhile, Safaree reveals that he signed a 7-figure deal with a sex toy company. They want to make a mold of his infamous anaconda . We’ve all seen it. Don’t act like you didn’t. Anyway, now people will get to experience it for themselves for about $100. Safaree’s issue is that people—aka Rich Dollaz and Papoose are telling him not to do it because people won’t take him seriously as an artist. Safari already signed the contract though. Too late. Remy Ma obliges Joe Budden’s request to chat with Cyn. Joe wants Remy to encourage Cyn to get help with her Postpartum depression because Remy dealt with it too, with her first son. They actually end up talking about how Cyn can create a schedule with Joe Budden so that they can spend more time together. Cyn meets with Joe later on and says Remy gave her new perspective. She shares her proposal for them to spend a Sunday every two weeks together and Joe gets even more frustrated because he wanted her to come up with a game plan for her postpartum depression situation. Cyn says she has been helping herself and doesn’t need to meet with doctors to get pills. Lordt. Nya Lee meets up with Sidney Starr to give her a makeover. You remember this is part of the whole artist development schtick. Sidney doesn’t take too kindly to her wardrobe being criticized because she says this is a sensitive topic for a transgender woman. Then Jacque comes through for more development and asks Sidney to kick some bars since Nya gave her some pointers. Sidney raps and bombs, but in her defense, she’s already upset by Nya’s makeover. IN the end, Nya tells Sidney she better get thicker skin and stop being ungrateful. Sidney sucks it up and actually tries on a dress Nya wanted her to try and she looks good. Finally, the episode concludes with Yandy’s foster runaway situation. Yandy found out from Infinity’s caseworker that she could get her own children taken away because what she’s doing is breaking the law. You have to go through a bureaucratic approval process for a child like Infinity to stay with you and Yandy didn’t do that. Now she has to tell Infinity that she has to leave for now, which is hard. Infinity obviously doesn’t take her well and breaks down in tears. But Yandy assures her that she’s not abandoning her and wants to figure things out. We know by now (thanks to #TheBlogs) that Yandy has adopted her. We’ll probably see that play out as the episodes progress. Let’s get back at it next. Travis Scott SLAMMED by Al Sharpton for Halftime Show Hypocrisy

Being as wonderful as she is beautiful,  Rihanna passed on the Super Bowl Halftime Show  in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. Travis Scott cannot say the same, and has reportedly agreed to perform with Maroon 5. Everyone is pissed, including Al Sharpton, who calls out Travis for selling out. TMZ   caught up with famed and controversial civil rights advocate Al Shaprton and got his opinion on Travis Scott's potential Halftime gig. “I think anyone that goes into the halftime show is in effect directly violating,” Al Sharpton begins. He continues: “those that want to raise the question that the NFL should come to terms with what they have done and continue to do to Colin Kaepernick” “And,” Sharpton continues, it would put them in opposition with “those that protest on criminal justice issues.” In other words, if you put on a show at the behest of an organziation that penalizes and punishes civil rights advocates, you're not the good guy. “You can't tell people to stand for those that take a knee and don't go to the games,” Sharpton continues. He says: “And then say 'but somebody ought to perform there and entertain.'” That's pretty fair. “You're drawing TV viewers, you're bringing supporters,” he points out. Performing at the Halftime show in 2019 would be an endorsement of NFL. Who wants  that  on their conscience? “And,” Sharpton reasons. “I think that you can't have it both ways,”  The  TMZ  interviewer, hoping for a little more words from Sharpton, then poses some complicated questions. For instance, could Travis potentially take the gig, but use the platform to  Famously, Beyonce took charge of the Halftime show in 2016 for exactly that purpose. But that was when Kaepernick was still part of the NFL. Now, he claims that the NFL colluded to force him out. “You can’t help people market something,” Sharpton says. “And then turn around and say you agree with the people protesting.” Sharpton has some advice for Travis Scott. “I think he should do what a lot of other major artists have done,” he suggests. Sharpton recommends that Travis “say 'I'm not going to participate.’”  Travis is a father now, and has to decide what sort of man he wants to be and what sort of world he wants to help make for baby Stormi. “You can't fight against Jim Crow and then go sit in the back of the bus,” Sharpton explains. He makes a lot of statements, but to be fair, the guy made his case very well for a man who's standing in the rain. Travis Scott came under fire over the weekend after an old interview resurfaced. In 2014, long before he was Kylie's famous baby daddy, he gave a radio interview about the infamous murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson. “I'm kind of angry,” Travis said at the time. “So many black people are acting like fake activists.” “I'm not saying that he deserved to get killed,” Travis clarified. “But,” Travis continued. “I'm not saying he didn't deserve to pay for consequences he probably inflicted.” In that same old interview, Travis continued, referring to “the problem with black people.” He disliked the  disruption  in Ferguson that followed Brown's murder. “And I know we're like 'fed up' … with whatever is going on in the culture,” Travis said. “But at the same time,” Travis continued. “You gotta just stop putting yourself in positions where you're continuously having this situation go down.” Many of his fans felt betrayed reading those words. Don't do crimes  is a fine message in general, but not an acceptable response when a man is extrajudicially executed in the street. Now, Travis made these comments more than four years ago. A lot of people's ideas change over time.  Ferguson was a huge catalyst for changing the nation's understanding of the shootings of unarmed black people. But Travis accepting the Halftime show after everything may mean that he still hasn't changed his mind — or hasn't changed it enough. Maybe he'll surprise us all. But reports say that Jay-Z is personally trying to persuade Travis to turn down the offer.

SMH: Al Sharpton Isn’t Happy With Travis Scott’s Reported Super Bowl Gig [Video]

Source: Pacific Press / Getty Al Sharpton Blasts Travis Scott For Performing At Super Bowl Al Sharpton  is not happy with Travis Scott. Earlier in the week, it was reported that the rapper was going to be performing at the Super Bowl 2019 halftime show alongside Maroon 5. Though Scott’s involvement has not been confirmed as of yet, many people have expressed their disappointment in the move and have been encouraging La Flame to bow out of the event. Al Sharpton echoed these same concerns during a chat with the people over at  TMZ , insisting that Scott’s halftime performance would endorse Colin Kaepernick’s unjust treatment by the NFL. The civil rights activist urged Travis to follow in the footsteps of other entertainers who have chosen to boycott the Super Bowl, including Rihanna and Cardi B–who have both reportedly rejected halftime show offers out of support for Kaepernick. “I think anyone that goes into the halftime show is in effect directly violating those that want to raise the question that the NFL should come to terms with what they have done and continue to do to Colin Kaepernick and those that protest on criminal justice issues,” Sharpton said. “You can’t tell people to stand for those that take a knee and don’t go to the games and then say ‘but somebody ought to perform there and entertain.’ You’re drawing TV viewers, you’re bringing supporters, and I think that you can’t have it both ways…You can’t fight Jim Crow and then sit in the back of the bus.”   Sharpton isn’t the only one who has publicly expressed their disapproval of Travis’ alleged upcoming performance. Meek Mill has also weighed in on the reported Super Bowl addition, insisting that he likes the rapper but doesn’t understand why he would accept the gig. For what???? https://t.co/oTZ4PsDqcD — Meek Mill (@MeekMill) December 20, 2018 Variety  also reported that JAY-Z tried to convince Scott to back out of the performance. Travis Scott has yet to address the reports about him performing at the Super Bowl. The game is set for February 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
