Valentina recently sat down with New York Magazine’s Vulture to talk about her new, nude role, and like the Continental woman that she is, she showed a great degree of, how you say, openness towards the creative process: ” Salome is someone who’s free with her body. That’s very freeing for me. It’s very freeing to use your body as a costume almost ,” she says about her frequently nude role. ” They can have sex without meaning they have responsibility to each other. That’s the beautiful part of being a vampire. All the conventional lead-up is unnecessary.” “Of course, on the day we shot that scene where I was talking to Roman [see above -SC] , I wasn’t supposed to be naked,” she goes on to say. “The writer asked me to be naked on the bed, and I kind of said, ‘Oh … ‘ but she explained to me that Salome is free. She doesn’t cover herself up. Now that summer’s arrived- and with it, the boob tube’s slowest season- it looks like True Blood ‘s going to be our sole source of skin for a while. (Unless Weeds steps up its nude game from last season, of course. We shall see.) By Kara Warner Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard and Lucy Griffiths in “True Blood” Photo: Lacey Terrell/ HBO Last week’s kickoff to the fifth season of “True Blood” was as bloody of a good time as we expected. As creator Alan Ball and company are wont to do with their vampire soap, the first episode of this new season ended in cliffhanger territory; plenty of people were up to no good and best friends were turned into vampires . So what’s in store for tonight? How Will Tara Take to Being Undead? Given all we know about Tara’s stubborn and incendiary personality, along with what we know about newborn vampires, we expect Tara’s transition to be a particularly messy one. She won’t go killing off Sookie and Lafayette, of course; they’re main characters. But we do expect her to do some damage via draining. Will she even take to the idea at all? How will the maker/makee bond play out between Tara and Pam? When Will Chris Meloni Make His Appearance? We’ve been waiting to see Chris Meloni and his fangs ever since it was announced that the HBO alum would be joining the cast for season five. His fellow castmembers have been singing his praises , and Meloni himself promised us “a lot of staking.” So where is he? Seems to us he should be making his appearance very soon, since Bill and Eric are still tied up with the Authority and all. Can Jason and Jessica Get It Together Already? It is very sweet that Jason misses his best buddy Hoyt and is trying to smooth things over. However, Jason can’t keep away from Jessica, so he might as well give up on repairing that friendship for now, which should leave the door open for him and Jess to actually formulate a relationship. Jason could use a strong-willed, independent lady in his life, despite the fact that Jessica wants to sow her wild oats. Why Won’t Alcide Embrace His New Pack Master Status? Yes, that group-eating of fallen pack master and all-around bad guy Marcus was super gross. But weird cannibalistic rituals be damned, Alcide would make a great pack master! He’s perfectly authoritative and assertive when he needs to be and so sweet and kind! From what we know about Alcide, which isn’t that much, he has always seemed resistant to joining up with wolf packs. Perhaps we’ll find out the reason behind his lone-wolf mind-set soon. What’s up with Steve Newlin? We are definitely intrigued by this new twist to Steve Newlin’s character. As a “gay vampire American,” he should definitely provide for some lighthearted distractions this season. But now that his recently declared love for Jason has been spurned, what is he going to do? Newlin was not at all pleased to see Jessica claim Jason for herself and we don’t think he’ll soon move on or go quietly into the woods. We’re betting it’s just a matter of time before he makes some mischief.

Season five kicked off as sexy as ever, but we’ve still got some secrets we’d like to uncover. By Kara Warner Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard and Lucy Griffiths in “True Blood” Photo: Lacey Terrell/ HBO Just when we were thinking that this summer needed a little more sizzle, HBO’s steamy vampire soap “True Blood” returned with all the nudity, over-the-top sex scenes and drama we’d been missing. Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t yet watched the season five premiere. For those who have, read on as we wrestle with a few new burning questions, along with some unanswered holdovers : How will Eric and Bill Be Punished? If there is anyone within the “True Blood” universe who takes corporal punishment seriously, it’s the Vampire Authority. As such, there is no way that Eric and Bill will escape their uptight, unforgiving clutches without a few flesh wounds. The King and his Sheriff really should face the True Death for their sins against the Authority, but we all know that there is no way HBO would kill off two of the most beloved characters — this isn’t “Game of Thrones.” So the question remains: How will Bill and Eric pay for their crimes? What Big Secret Is Terry Hiding From Arlene? We’ve known about Terry Bellefleur’s PTSD demons for several seasons now, but they haven’t posed a serious problem story-wise until this season. Clearly the arrival and continued presence of Terry’s war buddy Patrick (Scott Foley) is causing serious stress for several reasons, but why? What really happened that night in Iraq? And since this is “True Blood,” what sort of supernatural elements might be in play? When Will Alcide Find Out About Debbie? Those of us who’ve read Charlaine Harris’ books know that the Debbie Pelt murder plotline provided for plenty of drama between Sookie and Alcide, which makes us wonder just how long Alan Ball and company will draw out this particular plot point this season. Yes, Sookie killed someone, but because it was in self-defense, why do she and Lafayette have to be so secretive about it? Alcide knew that Debbie hated Sookie, surely he’ll understand? Regardless, we imagine Alcide will find out right before he and Sookie hookup or profess love to each other or something dramatic. What Happened to Jesus’ Body? Poor Lafayette. The man has been through some serious emotional strife. He finally allows himself to fall in love with a decent man for once, and that man turns out to be a brujo who in turn helps Lafayette uncover a few supernatural abilities of his own, which eventually leads to his death at the hands of Lafayette (who was possessed at the time). All Lafayette wanted to do was bury his dead lover’s body and say goodbye, but now his body is missing? What the heck happened to it? Who would take a dead man’s body and what will they do with it? We’ve already seen Jesus’ ghost once, will we be seeing him later this season fully reanimated in some way, shape or form? How Undead Is Tara? Tara’s not dead! More specifically Tara is now undead, a vampire. The last we saw of her she wanted to drain the life from her BFF Sookie, but we know that won’t happen. Odds are that Tara is not going to be pleased about being turned into a vampire, by Pam of all people, so how is she going to handle that? We don’t see her becoming BFFs with any of the vamps who terrified her before so this plotline could get really ugly really quickly. Maybe she could befriend Jessica? Tara is the most stubborn character on the show, so she’s going to have to be forced into seeking or receiving help, but from whom? What questions did you have after the “True Blood” premiere? Seasons change, but T&A is forever, as MAM-onstrated by the slew of nude season premieres and finales on the boob tube this weekend. Last night’s season five premiere of True Blood was titled, appropriately enough, “Turn! Turn! Turn!”, and the episode had enough skin to turn any limp snake into a wooden stake. Kelly Overton (who you may recall briefly went nude in the 2010 video-game adaptation Tekken ) provided the week’s best nudity baring T&A as she transformed from a werewolf back into human form. And nudecomer Lucy Griffiths also exposed seat meat getting banged from behind in her shipping container…no, literally. She lives in a shipping container. Also nude on HBO this weekend, Lena Dunham said goodbye to season one of her contentious creation Girls by baring boobs during a bout of SKINsomnia, and Mad Men ended season five with Alexis Bledel once again pushing the boundaries of basic cable with some major (and majorly mouthwatering) side boob. Looks like she took Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s advice to heart. And The Big C isn’t ending anytime soon (the Showtime series still has four more episodes to go in season three), but it still had Skin central’s attention as nudecomer Liz Twining made her nude debut.
