Leading us to wonder if she’s considering divorce… Hit the flip for new details on that.
This Nashville School Board Member Deserves A Raise For Trump Tweets We were a little sad to hear that Nashville school board member is now apologizing after tweeting a list of nicknames for Trump that we found very awesome and entertaining. The tweets actually went up on Friday: https://twitter.com/buggsforschools/status/822454783869128705 https://twitter.com/buggsforschools/status/822456451746631680 School board Chair Anna Sephard has since spoken to Fox 17 News , saying she spoke to Buggs over the weekend and Buggs now says she should not have used her school twitter handle to make the comments. Sephard promises it will not happen again. Other members of the board came to Buggs’ defense. Will Pinkston, Nashville School Board member Representing District 7 told Fox 17 News people are free to speak their minds. “A lot of people are frankly worried right now and everyone is expressing opinions in different ways. Taking to Twitter is a way to both mourn and satirize the situation. This is a Democracy and people are free to speak their minds.” He’s absolutely right. It’s insane the way Trump and his supporters try to repress the media and other critics from speaking the truth, when they were extremely outspoken (and wrong and hateful) during the previous Presidency. Let’s all show our support for Christiane Buggs! Twitter
Women’s March Attendance To Far Outnumber Inauguration Exact numbers for yesterday’s inauguration haven’t come back just yet, but it doesn’t take a genius to tell you that numbers were extremely DOWN. In the meantime, the Women’s March Against President Trump is already being hailed a huge success around the world as marches take place simultaneously. NY Daily News declared: Tens of thousands of women packed the streets of Washington for a massive Saturday rally against President Trump, with the turnout expected to double that of his inauguration. In addition to the Women’s March, there were huge protests in Washington, D.C. yesterday, some which turned violent, as well in cities across the globe. In these difficult times we wanted to share some of the images of protest from around the world. SplashNews
The day after Donald Trump was sworn in as our brand new president, people all across the country — all across the world, actually, are gathering together to march for women's rights, for LGBT rights … For all the rights, honestly. The Women's March is, of course, focused in Washington D.C., and that's where a number of celebrities gathered to protest Trump's presidency and also everything he's ever said or done. One of those celebrities in attendance was Madonna, who gave a speech she'd prepared about the whole situation. And oh, what a speech it was. Several news channels airing Madonna's speech cut away, thanks to all the language, and that one comment about blowing up the White House. It was a shame, because she really did have some nice sentiments. “Welcome to the revolution of love,” she said. “It took us this darkness to wake the f-ck up.” She directed a message “to our detractors that insist that this March will never add up to anything,” and that message? “F-ck you. F-ck you.” Madonna also said that she's “outraged” over Trump, and that she has “thought an awful lot of blowing up the White House.” Watch the full speech below:
We already know that an aversion to the truth runs in the Trump family. But do Donald Trump and Melania Trump also share an affection for plagiarization? Back in July, the First Lady stole parts of her Republican National Convention speech from Michelle Obama… and now some folks are wondering whether not Trump also relied on another source for this afternoon’s inauguration address. Specifically, they’re wondering if Trump was strongly influenced by iconic DC Comic villain Bane. You remember Bane, don’t you? Played by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises, he caused many problems for Batman, stirring up anarchy throughout Gotham City as he encouraged the people to rise up against their oppressors. He basically vowed to Make Gotham Great Again in his own, unique, controversial way. Sound familiar? It’s about to sound a lot more familiar. Consider the following passage from Trump’s inaugural address : Today’s ceremony, however has very special meaning. Because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another. But we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you… the people. For too long a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have born the cost. Washington flourished but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment. It belongs to you. WATCH THE FULL SPEECH BELOW: Donald Trump Inauguration Speech Okay? Got it? We’re not here to judge the address. We’re here to marvel over its similarities to what Bane said on the steps of a government building in The Dark Knight Rises. Consider: We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you… the people. Gotham is yours. None shall interfere. Do as you please. Start by storming Blackgate, and freeing the oppressed! Step forward those who would serve. For and army will be raised. The powerful will be ripped from their decadent nests, and cast out into the cold world that we know and endure. Courts will be convened. Spoils will be enjoyed. Blood will be shed. The police will survive, as they learn to serve true justice. This great city… it will endure. Gotham will survive! WATCH THE FULL SPEECH BELOW: Bane Encourages Uprising in The Dark Knight Rises We aren’t the only site that took note of this comparison. Entertainment Weekly and Jezebel were on it right away, as well. And while the idea of a wannabe Bane being in charge of our nuclear arsenal very scary, let’s remember the title of the film from which we took the above clip: The Dark Knight Rises. So that’s the question, people. That’s the reason to have hope. What hero will rise over the next four years and lead this country to a less Baneful place? There was a point when I was younger at which it became clear that I had a serious issue. It was an addiction, almost — my incessant bragging about my older brother. In all fairness, everything I said was grounded in fact. My older brother has always been the kindest, funniest, and most entertaining person… Read more »
