Watch James Franco’s First Music Video, Which Must Be a Joke

Normally, Movieline wouldn’t report on a music video by a novelty act called Kalup and Franco, but I regret to inform you that the “Franco” in this case is the Oscar-nominated, Oscar-ruining James Franco. In the first video from their new EP Turn It Up , Franco and his faithful drag-act friend Kalup Linzy use an innovative green-screen technique that reminds me of such revolutionary cinema as Prince’s “Raspberry Beret.” Now, Kalup is the true “star” of this clip, but the ethereal shots of Franco in the background may bewitch your mouth-breathing adolescent self.

Will Ferrell Attached to Semi-Religious Comedy Swear to God

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay may not be able to coax that Anchorman sequel into development any time soon, but the pair could be collaborating on another comedy starring Ferrell as a narcissistic professional. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has just picked up Swear to God , a pitch from Due Date writers Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland. Ferrell is attached to star as a self-involved “hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God.” McKay would produce and possibly direct the feature under the pair’s production shingle Gary Sanchez Productions. Know Your David O. Russell Projects That Will Probably Never Happen

More than six years passed between the releases of I Heart Huckabees and The Fighter , and it appears that David O. Russell is planning to make up for that lost time… with extreme prejudice. Since last October, the Oscar-nominated director has seen his name attached to no less than five projects, and the likelihood of them all happening with Russell in the director’s chair seems remote. However! Which has the best chance of going through as planned? Movieline investigates after the jump.
