The Voice Recap: Top 10 Hang Tough, But Who’s in Danger?

The Voice top 10 performers laid it all on the line once again Monday night, and the stakes are high, especially after the last two weeks. Obviously, every week matters when you’re facing elimination, but after The Voice results last Tuesday, it’s clear that no one is safe. It’s time to run down all of the performances from the episode.  Jesse Larson Jesse Larson’s latest performance was a cut above last week’s and boy; it was needed. Singing “Jungle Love” by The time, he made me realize just how much he deserved to be in the competition.  He made the song his own and turned in a rock-solid performance. What more could I ask for? Aliyah Moulden Aliyah went with “Jealous” by Labyrinth, and it proved that she had the vocal range to make even a quieter song sound awesome.  All season long, she’s been singing anything that she can shout at, but this showed a completely different side to her.  Vanessa Ferguson Vanessa opted to sing “Doo Wop” by Lauryn Hill, and it was a return to form for the star. There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this number.  Mark Isaiah There was something very off about Mark’s performance tonight. He went with “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, and it was just not all that.  The song is not a good one, and the performance suffered. I’m all for people trying to break out of their vocal range, but this was a resounding dud. Chris Blue “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars is a great song, and Chris is an excellent sing, so what could go wrong? A lot. Here’s the thing: Chris has a knack for hitting all the notes, but adding in a high-octane dance number meant his voice struggled.  Whether this will signal the end of his time in the competition is another story, but something tells me he may have screwed up.  Lilli Passero Lilli went with “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, and it was a doozy. I’ve been critical of Lilli in the past, but she’s managed to find her groove and is not straying away from that.  More performances like this and I could Lilli on the season finale.  Lauren Duski The country singer went with “Tell Me Why” by Wynonna Judd, and it was pretty amazing. She effortlessly hit all the notes and kept the audience intrigued.  Hunter Plake Hunter went with “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood, and it was meh. It was such a shame because he’s been one of the ones to watch, but he’s tailed off over the past few weeks.  He needs to get it back together right about now because two people are leaving the process. Maybe he never got the memo.  TSoul This competitor went with “At this Moment” by Billy Vera. It was great, with several portions that sounded amazing. He knows his style, and he sticks to it.  Brennley Brown Brennley has been a frontrunner since the start of the season. Singing “Anyway” by Martina McBride definitely kept that going.  She will be in the final 8.  Who do you think should get the chop? Hit the comments below! Empire Season 3 Episode 12 Recap: Strange Bedfellows

Hakeem Lyon is not the luckiest member of the Lyon clan.  That was addressed on Empire Season 3 Episode 12 when his birthday celebrations became a cause for concern for the people closest to him.  Meanwhile, Jamal continued to get closer to Philip, but did that mean hurting D-Major in the process? When the episode got underway, Hakeem was partying the night away in celebration for his birthday. He floated the idea of a live stream of the events, but Andre was very much against it.  However, it was quickly revealed he and Lucious were just trying to make Hakeem think they could not make the birthday party. Lucious also revealed he was not getting his son an expensive car he wanted.  We then switched gears to Jamal waking up after the night before with Philip. On his cell phone, D-Major came out in a live stream, but things took a crazy turn when Jamal’s ex arrived at his apartment.  View Slideshow: 19 Shows To Look Forward To In 2017 He found Philip rushing to get dressed, and Jamal told him to leave. D-Major was having none of it and said he came out for Jamal. This presented Jamal with some decisions as he wondered which man was best for him.  After some wise words from Cookie, Jamal had D-Major kicked out of Empire. This also paved the way for Philip to punch Major, but Jamal was less than impressed and said Major was going through tough time.  Surprisingly, Philip did not run off and ditch Jamal for his blatant favoritism over his ex-boyfriend.  At Hakeem’s birthday party, the venue was not impressed when they learned none of the family members would be attending and refused to pay Hakeem a fee.  The youngest Lyon then took the party to the Empire bar.  That’s when two thugs appeared and helped Hakeem. He got his fee and gave the men watches. Things turned dangerous when Tiana appeared with some friends.  The thugs started fighting with everyone, and the party was shut down. Tiana’s friend was injured, and she was upset that Hakeem did not ask about her.  Andre then gave Hakeem a verbal beat down and shut the live stream down, telling his brother he was done at Empire. Hakeem decided to spend the rest of his birthday with Bella.  View Slideshow: 17 Characters Who Ruined Perfectly Good TV Shows Yes, he does remember he has a kid. Lucious was shocked by his son appearing in the dead of night and chatted with him about fatherhood. They bonded, and Hakeem left with Bella.  While all of this was going down, Giuliana continued to pursue Andre to get closer to Lucious. At the conclusion of the episode, she got close to Andre before revealing her master plan to a thug.  She wanted to get closer to Lucious to take everything from him. Yes, we have another money grabber, you guys! In addition, Anika returned to town, and Leah offered to murder her. We’re not even kidding about that last part. This show is just crazy. Anika decided to get close to Tariq so the case could be dropped.  What did you think of the drama? View Slideshow: Empire Cast: Did You Know…?

The Real Housewives of New York Season 9 Episode 1 Recap: Talk of the Town

It would not be a Real Housewives of New York City premiere without a good old cheating claim to get the drama started.  On The Real Housewives of New York City Season 9 Episode 1 , LuAnn De Lesseps was shocked to hear about a new cheating claim about her fiancé, Tom D’Agostino.  When the episode got underway, we picked up with Bethenny Frankel who opened up about her divorce from Jason Hoppy. Plot twist: It was finally over! Bethenny revealed she got her apartment sold within 24 hours at the price she wanted for it. That’s practically unheard of but pretty great for Bethenny.  We then switched gears to LuAnn, who was still excited about her wedding. If you watch The Real Housewives of New York City online , you will remember the string of cheating allegations against Tom.  She opened up to her good friend Dorinda Medley about the wedding during a stroll in Central Park. She also dropped the bomb that she only wanted positive energy at the event.  That probably ruled out the likes of Bethenny and Sonja attending.  “The group is fractured,” Dorinda acknowledged to the camera. “I hope that as a group, we can get past it, but when it comes to Sonja, I just don’t know.” Dorinda revealed that Sonja had been trashing her at any given opportunity.  “It’s not going to end well if she keeps it up,” Dorinda claimed. LuAnn dropped the bomb that Ramona Singer had called Tom’s ex-girlfriend in the middle of the night to try to get dirt on him.  That’s desperation right there.  View Slideshow: Ramona Singer And Her Eyes: 13 Ramotional Moments Later, Dorinda stopped by Carole’s apartment, and they got talking about the drama from the previous season.  “I feel bad that we really got off-track,” Dorinda said. “It hurt my feelings.” The ladies then decided to keep things “light and bright.” The best part of the season premiere was when Ramona and LuAnn met for lunch to hash out their issues.  “I heard it through the grapevine through friends that you’ve been stirring things up and being negative about Tom and I,” Luann said. “Why would you go and call people that Tom knows and try to find out stuff about him and his past?” Ramona blatantly lied, saying she was not seeking the information and that people were offering it up to her. She claimed it did not matter because LuAnn wanted to be kept in the dark about the past.  Ramona then revealed that Tom was on a date with one of his ex-girlfriends. LuAnn seemed in denial and thought this other woman was trying to ruin her nuptials.  View Slideshow: Real Housewives All Stars: Who Should Be Cast? “Why would she want to lie?” Ramona asked. LuAnn tried to reasons with Ramona, but Ramona was too concerned about LuAnn’s future to care.  “I know what I have,” Luann barked. “I am strong as a woman.” “You should advise your husband-to-be that it’s a very small city,” Ramona warned. “It’s a very small city. Tell him to reel it in.” LuAnn then urged Ramona to be happy for her.  “I toast to your marriage, and I hope you don’t fall on your face with him,” Ramona said. “I’m afraid he’s going to hurt you.” Something tells us there’s a lot of drama on the way for these two! Ben Carson Said WHAT About Slaves?!?!?!?!?!?!?

In his first official speech as Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Ben Carson made a few controversial remarks while addressing HUD employees in Washington, D.C. on Monday. What sort of controversial remarks? The sort that make you wonder how Carson has lasted this long as a human being… … let alone how he was confirmed as a member of a Presidential administration. “That's what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity,” Carson said as part of his rambling speech, adding: “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. “But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.” You may want to read that second sentence again. And maybe again after that. Because Ben Carson really did refer to slaves – the same slaves who were violently snatched from their homes, chained up, tossed into a ship and then forced to do a white person's bidding – as “immigrants” who wanted to come to America and who simply worked hard for a low wage. Shortly after the video below went viral, celebrities jumped on Twitter in shock and the opposite of awe. “Ben Carson..please read or watch Roots, most immigrants come here VOLUNTARILY, cant't really say the same about the slaves..they were stolen,” Whoopi Goldberg wrote in response, while Samuel L. Jackson added: “OK!! Ben Carson….I can't! Immigrants ? In the bottom of SLAVE SHIPS??!! MUTHAFUKKA PLEASE!!! #dickheadedtom.” We know it's difficult to believe that anyone would utter these words. But it really happened! See for yourself in the following footage:

Jessa Duggar to Joy-Anna Duggar: CONGRATULATIONS!

The Duggars are officially set to welcome yet another family member. Which of these reality stars is pregnant now , you may be wondering? No one, at least not as of this writing. But Joy-Anna Duggar is engaged to Austin Forsyth , with the 19-year old daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle confirming the exciting news herself just a few days ago. “We just got engaged!” Joy-Anna told Us Weekly in early March. “I’m so excited to be engaged to my best friend.” The two have known each other for 15 years, but only just started courting in mid-November. “I'm so excited to be engaged because that means the next step is marriage,” Joy-Anna added, explaining the engagement concept for those unaware of how it works and adding: “I’m excited to see what the future holds for us!” And Joy-Anna isn't the only Duggar who feels this way. Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald recorded a sweet video last night to congratulate Jim Bob and Michelle's fifth-oldest daughter on her new relationship status. “Hey, Joy and Austin, congratulations,” Ben says in the clip, which features him holding 16-month old son Spurgeon and Jessa cradling one-month hold son Henry. Jessa then directs her attention to Joy-Anna and Austin, who are even holding hands now , and chimes in as follows: “We’re super excited for y’all getting engaged, and we are looking forward to the big day – your wedding day. The little boys say congratulations too.” Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard had previously sent well wishes to the engaged couple via their own TLC-produced video. “Hey Joy and Austin, congratulations. We just heard the good news on the engagement,” Derick says in that piece of footage. “Yeah, we’re so excited for you all!” Jill adds. Check out Jessa and Ben's video below and then send along your own congratulatory message to Joy-Anna and the man she may one day kiss now!

The Bachelor Recap: And Then There Were Two!

You don’t need The Bachelor spoilers to tell you that Nick Viall’s journey for love reached its tipping point on this penultimate episode. With Season 21 of The Bachelor escalating toward its conclusion next Monday, who was eliminated and who advanced to the finale? Watch The Bachelor Season 21 Episode 10 Online On  The Bachelor Season 21 Episode 10 , you knew we’d start with the burning question, the resumption of the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers: Did Nick make Raven Gates orgasm or no? We were spared any graphic details, but when Raven and Nick woke up in Finland after a night in the Fantasy Suite, she said the following: “Nick is really good at what he does.” “So I’m pretty satisfied today.” There you have it. Would you expect anything else from Nick Viall, given his level of experience with the winner of The Bachelor franchise? View Slideshow: Raven Gates Photos: Will She Win Nick Viall (and Bachelor Nation’s) Heart? Next up is Rachel Lindsay, who was announced as The Bachelorette weeks ago, so we knew at some point, she and Nick would split. This made for an interesting dynamic, especially with Rachel seeming to be on cloud nine in Finland with Nick. Would the other shoe drop? “You’re rare. And refreshing,” she tells him, beside herself that she’s still on the show with a guy she considers so amazing right now?  “I might be white, but I’m still a minority,” he says. Well then. He has a way with words, that Nick. “Rachel, I am falling for you,” he says, making the inevitable breakup that much worse for Lindsay and her fans at home “100 percent.”  One hundred percent? Was Vanessa at 110? View Slideshow: Rachel Lindsay: Get to Know The Bachelorette! Speaking of whom, Vanessa Grimaldi spent much of her romantic date with Nick in an ice bath, because this dude needs a cold shower. We kid, but he kind of does, are we wrong? “If we can do this together, we can do anything,” Vanessa says, in a cliche that makes kind of no sense in this context, but we digress. Shortly thereafter, Vanessa asks Nick about moving to Canada , and this proud American has a difficult time visualizing that scenario: “Your family’s so traditional. I’m not.”  Nevertheless, it’s Fantasy Suite time soon enough, and it presumably goes well, because Nick is crying later … that he has to cut someone. View Slideshow: Vanessa Grimaldi: The Bachelor Favorite? Much as we make fun of the man, and the show, it can’t be easy when one of the three women who did nothing wrong has to get dumped. Who would it be? As The Bachelor spoilers predicted, Raven Gates gets the first rose from Nick, and Vanessa Grimaldi gets the second. There was no twist. Rachel is going home. She’s crushed, and a little surprised, but for the most part, she holds it together as he walks her out into the snow where the limo awaits. Fortunately, so does her second chance. If you  watch The Bachelor online , you also saw the way she conducted herself on the Women Tell All special, and know Rachel is wonderful. Here’s hoping that fact, and the extensive time ABC has spent promoting her season in advance, pays off with a great list of contestants. The Voice Recap: Did Gwen Stefani Go Too Far?

Did the coaches manage to get the people they wanted for their team of singing sensations? That was their plan on the third night of the blind auditions, but there was a lot of tension as each coach tried desperately to emerge from the auditions stage with some solid singers.  This was made difficult by the contestants who got to choose which team they joined. All of this was made possible by the coaches turning those red chairs because they liked what they heard.  Oh, and we can’t forget Gwen Stefani trying to imply the contestants can get the best of both worlds because she is boning Blake Shelton.  Let’s run down the list of people who managed to make it through the audition stage of the reality hit… Ashley Levin 23-year-old Ashley opted to sing “Let Him Fly” by Patty Griffin. It was a solid performance, but it did not impress Adam Levine. Yes, you guys, Adam did not turn his chair for this one.  That left Gwen, Alicia, and Blake to duke it out to have Ashley. Gwen felt the need to flaunt her relationship with Blake to her advantage. She reasoned that Ashley would have access to both Gwen and Blake.  Um, that’s not how it works, Gwen. In the end, Ashley chose to go with Blake.  Brandon Royal Brandon went with Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster” and it was pretty spectacular. There were a few moments that made me question whether he was for real, but he hit all of the beautiful notes you would expect of someone singing that song.  Brandon decided to go with Gwen, which was a good idea when you consider the fact you could imagine the pair performing a duet together.  Julien Martinez Julien wowed the judges with his rendition of “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughn. You could tell from his vocals that he would fit in well with Adam. As you can probably expect, Adam turned around.  It was between Adam and Blake. Julien chose Adam in the end, with Blake looking rather unimpressed that his team was still lacking in the male department.  Quizz Swanigan Quizz was one of the more different voices on the show this season, and that’s a good thing. Variety is always best and there’s nothing worse than everyone sounding the same on the show.  Quizz opted to sing “Who’s Lovin’ You” by The Jackson 5. Alicia and Gwen wanted him on their respective teams, but Quizz went with the Queen of the high note, Alicia Keys.  Casi Joy Casi went with “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes. It proved that people know LeAnn aside from her various celebrity feuds. Her voice was a delight, but she started something like a bidding war when everyone turned around to claim her.  Being a country artist, she chose to go with Blake, but not everyone was impressed with this choice, and Adam even threatened to give up because he knew it was happening.  Talk about a sore loser.  That rounds up week one of The Voice’s spring season. There is still lots of drama to come, but who will emerge as the winner? Will that winner manage to stay relevant in a saturated market? Hit the comments below! The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 Episode 13 Recap: If These Woods Could Talk

Did the ladies manage to put their differences aside for one day? That was put to the question on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 Episode 13 when they went on a camping trip.  Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 Episode 13 Online When the episode got underway, the ladies continued to question whether it would be a good idea to go get hotels. They did not want to sleep in tents.  Sheree Whitfield wasted no time in getting the drama started and asked Marlo about which member of the group could be sleeping with ladies.  Marlo knew straight away who she was referring to and told her to just as Kandi Burruss about it. Sheree, however, felt like it was not a good time to be asking about it.  Instead, she revealed to the camera that she wanted it out in the open quickly.  “I’ve been biting my tongue and holding this in the entire time,” she revealed. Yes, viewers at home have been waiting for you to reveal it, too.  The drama continued when the ladies put up their tents. They gathered around the campfire and Marlo called Kenya out for not inviting her to the housewarming party.  “I already apologized multiple times,” Kenya said, but Marlo was not letting it go.  “You’re so miserable. Your earrings are a disaster,” Marlo said. She then decided to diss Kenya’s appearance some more by taking aim at her false eyelashes.  However, the most shocking diss came in the form of Marlo trashing Kenya for not having a relationship with her mother.  “If a person’s mother don’t want to be bothered with them,” she began as she looked at Kenya. “That’s how you know she’s evil.” The other ladies finally stepped in and agreed that her comments were below the belt.  Phaedra tried to keep the peace by telling the ladies they were on break and should be getting along. She even went as far as saying they should do activities to fix things.  The next morning, the ladies were chatting about divorce. Phaedra noted that her divorce to Apollo Nida was almost complete.  Kandi butted in, saying that she heard a divorce can go through quicker when one spouse is in jail, but Phaedra was annoyed about her butting in.  Cynthia revealed her divorce was almost over with.  “It makes me feel sad that Peter doesn’t want to be at the divorce settlement signing,” she revealed.  Some time later, the ladies went to dinner and Kenya decided it was best to put her feud with Marlo aside.  “I was very upset that I had hurt you, and I apologize,” Kenya began. “Your apology is accepted, and I apologize for some of the mean things I said last night,” Marlo replied.  “But I will proceed with caution,” she added. While Marlo’s feud with Kenya was over, she then started a new feud with Kandi.  “I’ve just been hearing things. I want to know. Kandi, are you a lesbian?” she asked. Kandi flipped out, demanding to know who was telling her the details. When the previous conversation was rehashed, Porsha was put in the hot seat.  “So you’re saying that I was insinuating that she was a lesbian, but I didn’t say that she was a lesbian,” she barked.  Kandi then dropped the bomb that she had tried sleeping with women.  “Yes, I have tried it. Yes, I have! But believe me, I’m not the only one at this table who has.” Kandi meant these words for Porsha.  “You don’t know anything about what I have done!” Porsha snapped.
