Last summer, Fox debuted Glee by airing the pilot episode right at the beginning of summer, then kept the rest of the series under wraps until the fall season. AMC is ganking that strategy for the launch of its new drama Rubicon , which launches this Sunday after Breaking Bad and then doesn’t return until August 1. There’s just one difference — AMC is barely doing a damn thing to promote it, and the screening isn’t even listed on their website. What gives?

Back in February, we brought you 9 compelling images from the first trailer for Showgirls 2 , an unauthorized, insane semi-sequel to Paul Verhoeven’s camp classic that appeared to have been cobbled together from B-roll, spare footage of naked ladies writhing around, and sheer chutzpah. Developed and produced by BBC Worldwide, the latest 10 episodes of the British sci-fi drama will premiere stateside in the summer of 2011 while BBC One airs the series overseas. You can’t fault last night’s MTV Movie Awards for a lack of effort: Enough awards were thrown at New Moon to incite ecstatic middle-school bloodletting, Betty White razzed Sandra Bullock, and Katy Perry’s tan decolletage looked just like DJ Pauly D’s ass. Everyone felt festive! But with lukewarm host Aziz Ansari leading the show and dubious winners filling the two-hour ceremony, MTV’ s annual romp felt ho-hum and spastic. Impressive, sort of. Time to figure out this mess and conclude with a full list of the night’s winners.
