Tati Westbrook Announces YouTube Hiatus After Canceling James Charles

Last week, beauty vlogger Tati Westbrook savagely canceled controversial YouTube star James Charles. Now, she has announced that she is taking a short hiatus from making new videos. After all of the drama, she just needs a break. “There won’t be a video tomorrow,” Tati Westbrook announced on Twitter. (Side note, wouldn’t she make the most amazing Michelle Bachmann impersonator? Not that Bachmann is culturally relevant anymore, but still) “My heart is still too heavy,” she explained. Tati added: “I feel like I need to remind you that we can hold truth & inspire change without grabbing onto hate.” It sounds like she’s suggesting that she didn’t cancel James out of spite. “Honor your blessings,” Tati advised her fans and followers on Twitter. “Don’t abuse them.” “Celebrating pain will only bring it to your door,” she suggested. In other words, maybe those delighting in watching James Charles lose millions of followers should dial down the schadenfreude. “Love you guys,” Tati concluded. “See you soon.” So we shouldn’t expect it to be a lengthy hiatus, at least. “That’s a grown woman and professional response right there. Lots of respect” Marlena Stell “take all the time you need, you deserve to be fully healed and feel all the happiness you deserve. i cant express how much you mean to me & the impact you’ve had on my life. thank you for being you” In March of 2018, Tati launched her own supplement company, Halo Beauty. One of her products is hair gummies, which are intended to contain nutrients that boost your hair health. However, her alleged friend James Charles, who just one week ago was the most followed beauty vlogger on YouTube, endorsed another gummy brand. Now, he did explain that he did so because that brand’s security personnel helped him out of a tight spot at Coachella this year. But Tati felt more than slighted — she felt betrayed . So, last Friday, she uploaded a 40-minute callout video to YouTube. In the video, she dragged James Charles’ name through the mud. She spoke about what she described as a pattern of alarming behavior from James. Tati expressed that she believed that James’ fame and fortune had corrupted him. At just 19, she said that he appeared to be a different person than the one whom she had befriended and supported years earlier. Most alarming of all, Tati said that James had used his fame and influence to try to strongarm straight men into sleeping with him. This has spawned a lot of debate, as a couple of the men to whom she referred have come forward. Based upon their statements, it sounds like James was pushy and, in DMs, seemed unwilling to accept “no” for an answer. He flirted with and made out with a waiter named Sam who ultimately told him that he wasn’t interested, but James allegedly insisted that the guy was bi. And a model named Gage Gomez says that James invited and disinvited him from Coachella, an event that could really help his career. James has also been accused of racist and transphobic statements for years, so many considered his cancelation long, long overdue.

Emails Defend Accused Murderer Hannah Payne In Deadly Georgia Hit And Run

Read more:

Source: WSB-TV Screenshot A series of emails have been sent to NewsOne purportedly from friends and acquaintances of the motorist in Georgia who saw a hit and run car accident that ended with a driver being shot dead Tuesday evening. Hannah Payne , 21, reportedly saw the collision that police in Clayton County described as a minor fender bender before she followed Kenneth Herring , 62, for a mile, blocked his car with hers, approached him and killed him with her gun. That was after she called 911, which police said typically advise callers against approaching people they’re calling about. Payne is white and Herring is Black. Hannah Payne has been charged with murder for killing a Black man who she saw get in a hit and run car accident. When Kenneth Herring fled, she drove after him, blocked his car, called 911, got out of her car and ended up shooting him to death. https://t.co/aEh95kbNP8 — NewsOne (@newsone) May 10, 2019 Her arrest and subsequent charge of one count of murder without malice resulted in social media users, in particular, claiming the killing was racist in nature. Considering the egregious nature of the charges and the current racial climate in the U.S., tweets that suspected racism were all but obligatory. How do you follow someone for an hour, block their car, punch them, finally shooting and killing them, and be charged with “Murder without Malice “? #femalezimmerman Hannah Payne! — DeirdreIV (@IvDeirdre) May 10, 2019 #HannahPayne literally interjected herself into a situation that she was not involved in and took the laws into her own hands. #KennethHerring is dead because of a minor fender bender. Only black/ #ADoS people end up dead in situations like this https://t.co/5I5bg5OWi2 — Racist Of The Week (@RacistOTW) May 10, 2019 Not why did #HannahPayne follow Kenneth Herring for a mile with a gun Not why did Hannah Payne take the law into her own hands? Not why is #KennethHerring dead for a minor fender This is the question that he decided to ask? #FBA #ADoS #Tangibles2020 #B1 https://t.co/p5wSVHOPmy — P. Against The World (@chillin662) May 10, 2019 However, emails have been sent to this writer claiming that Payne was the farthest thing from racist and accusing NewsOne of falsely reporting that she was racist. (NewsOne never reported she was racist.) One email said that the mere suggestion Payne could be behind a racist shooting of a Black man was ludicrous in part because her Facebook page showed she had many Black friends. However, a search for Payne’s Facebook turned up empty and a request by NewsOne to interview the people who sent the emails was denied. Because of that, the emails sent to NewsOne have been paraphrased and not quoted. Another lengthier email said the comparisons NewsOne made between Payne and George Zimmerman were misguided. Zimmerman was the volunteer neighborhood watchman in Florida who followed and killed Trayvon Martin in 2012 even after a 911 operator told him not to approach the unarmed Black teen. He was eventually acquitted of murder under Florida’s controversial Stand Your Ground law. Georgia also has a Stand Your Ground law , though it was unclear if Payne planned to use that for her defense. The email went on to add that Payne has always been romantically attracted to Black males, using that as a primary reason why the shooting could not have possibly been racially motivated. Another email said Payne lived in a neighborhood where people of all races live together. It was unclear where Payne called home, but the latest Census data for Clayton County showed that more than 71 percent of its residents were listed as being Black. One email blamed Herring, a senior citizen who may or may not have even realized he had hit another car, for driving for a mile after the collision despite there being no reports that he sped away. If Herring did speed away, that would presumably mean that Payne had to drive faster (read: speed) than he was driving just to catch up with him before she used her car to block him in. Insurance companies have long advised drivers who witness a hit and run to document the license plate number of the offending driver and report it to authorities. For instance, State Farm said on its website that drivers involved in and witnesses of a hit and run should not “follow the fleeing driver. Leaving the scene of the accident could put you in a compromising position: You’ll miss getting eyewitness accounts — and police could question who’s really at fault.” The email also wondered why Herring would make such a decision to keep driving. The email insisted that had roles been reversed, Payne would have remained on the scene of her car accident. It went on to say that she carried her legally licensed gun to protect herself from people like Herring. The author of the email didn’t respond to questions about what exactly that meant. All of the emails shared one common refrain: trying to discredit the way that NewsOne has covered the shooting as potentially being motivated by race. That was even as most mainstream media outlets have seemingly ignored the story or moved on to other current events. Upon first glance, there was no apparent direct evidence to suggest the shooting was racially motivated. But the circumstantial evidence, bolstered by the tragic trend of white people not in law enforcement trying to police Black people , appeared to be quite strong. That was especially true when factoring in how the shooting took place in Georgia, a state that prides itself on its role in the Confederacy. In fact, the Georgia House voted in late March “to increase the penalties against those who damage the state’s public and private monuments — and make it more difficult to remove or relocate Confederate markers ,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported at the time. That was as other, more progressive states have moved to remove Confederate monuments. More recently, a mayor in a rural Georgia town rejected a Black man’s job application specifically because of his race. Clayton County is located just 15 miles south of Atlanta, the state’s capital city where Black residents have long thrived socially and economically. But racism has persisted across the state, in both rural and urban locations, much like the rest of the country. Considering those facts, it was nearly impossible to rule out race as a motivational factor for Payne’s lethal pursuit of Herring. Payne’s lawyer said his client was simply trying to do the right thing. “It just seems like an unfortunate situation of a good Samaritan trying to stop a person on a hit-and-run,” Matt Tucker said. A witness described Payne to WSB-TV as the aggressor who immediately claimed after Herring was shot that he was the one who pulled the trigger. Given what is known about the shooting, it may come across as curious why more media outlets were not covering it. Aside from a handful of initial news reports following the news of Payne’s arrest, little other information has been reported with few, if any, follow-up news articles. Even social media was relatively silent despite that egregious nature of the shooting that typically makes for rabid fodder on Twitter and Facebook. Regardless of what investigators discover, it was doubtful that Payne could be charged with a hate crime even if the shooting fit the criteria for it. That was because the Georgia House only recently passed a bill for what could become the state’s first hate crimes legislation. The bill must be approved by the state Senate before it can become law. As of Friday afternoon, Payne remained locked up in Clayton County Jail without bond. Move Bih: 7 Celebs You Wouldn’t Want To Be Roommates With

Original post:

Source: Splash News / Splash News Having a roommate could be one of the best experiences in your life, or one of the worst. As millennials living in this economy, it’s pretty safe to say that if most of us either live with our parents or share a space with someone else. According to the Pew Research : In 1995, the earliest year with comparable data, 55 million adults (28.8%) lived in a shared household. In 2017, nearly 79 million adults (31.9% of the adult population) lived in a shared household – that is, a household with at least one “extra adult” who is not the household head, the spouse or unmarried partner of the head. Sharing a space with a stranger has become so common place that some millennials fear that they may never live on their own. @OhJuliatweets: “My friend from college lives in Paris and pays the equivalent of $900 USD/month for a 1-bedroom can you imagine living in a major city that isn’t fueled by bottomless greed and extortionately expensive to the point where you have to have roommates until you’re 40 wow hard pass/” @KaleBHorton: “Boomers love to tell millennials that they should be thrilled to work 14 hour days in exchange for the privilege of getting their ass kicked all day by impotent old dudes named either Jim or Mark and going home to a studio apartment with 19 roommates.” Don’t get us wrong, there are many perks to having a roommate. Obviously, one of the biggest perks is advantage of having a roommate is the ability to split the cost of rent and utilities, which means you’ll be able to afford a nicer, larger apartment than you could if you were living by yourself. You can also split the cost of other shared items, like groceries, and that’s always a plus. But picking the right roommate that aligns with your taste and ideals is the tricky part. Some folks just aren’t meant to share a space together for a long period of time. @Daylaco: This whole roommate thing is so dead, i hate sharing my space w others @cateblanchettt: The only time I hate sharing a bathroom with my current roommate is right now when she just went in there and I was about to shower Speaking of imperfections, people tend to think celebs are perfect people that never do anything wrong or annoying. But quite the contrary. We’ve put together a list of celebs that you probably love, but would never want to share a living space with. Hit the flip to check it out.

BBC Broadcaster Fired After Comparing Royal Baby Archie To A Chimp

View post:

Source: DOMINIC LIPINSKI / Getty There’s a reason why when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were first dating, he had to check the British media for their blatant racism . Unfortunately, it has fallen on deaf ears and has now impacted their newborn son. On Thursday, one BBC broadcaster was fired for comparing baby Archie to a chimp. According to the Los Angeles Times , radio host Danny Baker tweeted out a picture of two adults holding hands with a tiny chimp, with the caption, “Royal baby leaves the hospital.” Yeah, he REALLY tried it. Of course, Baker tried to backtrack by deleting the tweet and explaining and apologizing multiple times, claiming he did not know it was racist. “Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up,” the 61-year-old tweeted first. “Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased. Soon as those good enough to point out it’s possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that’s it.” Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased. Soon as those good enough to point out it's possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that's it. Now stand by for sweary football tweets — Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 8, 2019 Once again. Sincere apologies for the stupid unthinking gag pic earlier. Was supposed to be joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte. Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel. pic.twitter.com/86cQGbAhDc — Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 8, 2019 Thankfully, BBC still let him go, stressing that Baker’s tweet “goes against the values we as a station aim to embody,” adding “Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.” Later, Baker lashed out at his colleagues, claiming they threw him under the bus and should have defended his character. “The call to fire me from @bbc5live was a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity,” he tweeted Thursday. “Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah. Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking.” So instead of owning up to one’s racism, you make this about other people. That’s about white. As we previously reported , Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the first mixed-race heir to the throne. He was born on Monday, May 6, clocking in clocked at 7lbs. 3oz. View this post on Instagram The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. Photo credit: Chris Allerton ©️SussexRoyal A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) on May 8, 2019 at 8:39am PDT   During a photo-op on Wednesday at Windsor Castle, Meghan said that being a mother is “magic” and that her son has “just been a dream,” adding, “I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy.” With his son in his arms, Harry beamed, saying, “We’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy and be able to spend some precious times with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up.” Apparently, Meghan and Harry are still figuring out which parent he looks like. “His looks are changing every single day, so who knows,” Harry said. Adding, “Parenting is amazing. It’s only been, what, two and a half days, three days, but we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy, and to be able to spend some special time with him as he slowly starts to grow up.” RELATED NEWS: #BabySussex: Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Debut Baby Archie White Woman Who Called Michelle Obama An ‘Ape In Heels’ Defrauded FEMA Of $18K Stork Alert! Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce New TV Network and Streaming App!

Back in November, we reported that Chip and Joanna Gaines were returning to television . Now, we know which TV network they’re taking over and they’ve announced their very own streaming service. But some fans are feeling a little put out — and see this as nothing but a calculated business move designed to enrich the Gaines brand. The Wrap reports that Allison Page of HGTV has been named the president of an exciting new project. That project will be a “multiplatform joint venture between Discovery, Inc. and the Gaines’ Magnolia brand.” The Fixer Upper stars will be taking over what we currently know as the DIY Network, which falls under the Discovery umbrella. Though we do not yet know the names of this new channel, TVE app, and SVOD service, we do know one thing. The world has been told to expect to see “Magnolia” somewhere in there. Discovery CEO David Zaslav released a statement on this new venture. “Chip and Joanna Gaines have become trusted, household names since the debut of Fixer Upper ,” Zaslav notes. “And through this joint venture,” he continues. “Discovery is proud to extend our relationship with them.” “They’ve got authenticity and relatability,” he observes. Zaslav describes those traits as forming “that special something that is so difficult in our business to find.” Zaslav goes on to explain why Discovery knows that investing in the Gaineses is the right move. “People love them, their taste, their businesses,” he points out. “They’ve built an ecosystem that aligns perfectly with our vision at Discovery,” he adds. Zaslav points out that Discovery has a lot of motivation “for fueling people’s passions.” So it seems like the brands are a natural fit for each other. Chip and Joanna Gaines also released a joint statement about this exciting new development. “Our intention with this network,” the statement begins. The Gaineses continue: “is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities.” “We want honest, authentic programming,” the statement affirms. They want to create content “that brings families together.” “We believe David Zaslav and the team at Discovery are the perfect partners for this ambitious joint venture,” The Gaineses express. “And,” their statement continues. “We know Allison Page is the right person to lead this charge.” She’s certainly going to have her hands full, but she’s proven herself already at HGTV. “We’re ready to get started,” Chip and Joanna’s statement concludes. “And are expectant for all that’s ahead.” We’re still waiting on the names that all of these things will have, however. So when is all of this going down? The launch is scheduled for the summer of 2020. As exciting as this is for fans, others feel a little put off. It seems clear that Chip and Joanna have made a number of business decision with the aim of raking in as much cash as possible. Some of us would say that there’s nothing wrong with that, but others feel that this is a betrayal of their wholesome family image. Maybe those fans will get over their feelings of unease once all of the nice new Magnolia content rolls out. View Slideshow: Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Actually Getting Dragged for Their Pregnancy

Brandi Glanville Admits to Mixing Booze and Pills Following Release of Unflattering Photos

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville doesn’t make many headlines these days. That’s not surprising, given that Brandi was fired from RHOBH way back in 2015, and life after reality fame usually isn’t very kind to those who have been chewed up and spit out by the Bravo machine. But Brandi has never been one to relinquish the spotlight without a fight, and so, she’s clung to relevance in the usual ways — snarky comments about her former co-stars, a sporadically-produced podcast, etc. Of course, none of that has helped Brandi retain household name status (if she ever reached such heights to begin with) and these days, it seems she’s very much in danger of fading into obscurity. The good news is, Brandi is once again garnering major attention on social media this week. The bad news is, it’s all because of some unflattering photos and her facepalm-inducing response. The images below appeared on Twitter and Instagram earlier this week. They appear to show Brandi during a night out, and as you can see, she looks somewhat worse for wear. Glanville quickly took to Twitter to offer an explanation: “I’ve been VERY open about Suffering from depression and having recently switched antidepressants,” the mother of two wrote. “So please please stop these negative comments unless you really just want to send me over the f–king edge. I’m sad and ashamed isn’t that enough?” She later added: “Sorry for my tweet I just realized the only people I owe explanations to are my family. “I’m not 25 my body isn’t perfect and I got wasted i’m sure it’s happened to plenty of you however you don’t have people taking your picture and putting on the internet.” Sad stuff, to be sure, but did Brandi really think she would lessen the negative attention by revealing that she’s in the habit of binge drinking while experimenting with new psychiatric medications? That’s simply not a good look at any age, and not surprisingly, Brandi received even more blowback from her explanatory tweets. And here’s how she responded: Brandi Glanville Begs For Compassion “I’m telling you I’m embarrassed,” Brandi tearfully admits, as she pleads for compassion. She also admits to struggling as she watches her friends enjoy lives with their “perfect husbands.” (You may recall that Brandi’s ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, left her for LeAnn Rimes following a very public cheating scandal.) It’s hard not to feel sympathy for Brandi, but many Instagram users commented that they don’t feel bad for her in the slightest, as Brandi has rarely shown compassion to others who are suffering. It’s a complex situation, but we say a good rule of thumb is to always ease up on those who appear to be suffering. Here’s hoping Brandi will eventually get whatever kind of help she needs.
