‘Twilight’ Fan-Favorite Moment #3: ‘Eclipse’ Leg Hitch

So far, we’ve revisited Robert and Taylor’s awkward heart-to-heart during the frigid “Eclipse” tent scene (moment #5) and Jacob’s first ab reveal in “New Moon” (moment #4). And while the snippets have focused squarely on Lautner and Pattinson, Stewart finally gets in on the action with today’s #3 fan-favorite moment: the “Eclipse” leg hitch. To be sure, it was a detail many fans feared wouldn’t find its way from Stephenie Meyer’s novel to the 2010 big-screen adaptation, but director David Slade did right by Twilighters, including the small-yet-telling gesture in the steamy scene. As Edward shows off the new bed he purchased to Bella, the two decide to break it in with a hot-and-heavy make-out session, during which Edward — in a moment very uncharacteristic of the cautious vampire — hitches Bella’s leg around his hip. And while the simple action left a big impression on Twilighters, Pattinson later admitted to MTV News that he didn’t even remember filming the now-iconic scene. “I remember seeing that scene and thinking, ‘I don’t remember doing that,’ ” Pattinson recalled. “That’s a little saucy. Taylor Lautner Signs On To Star In Gus Van Sant Indie

Sullivan Taylor Lautner Photo: Jeff Kravitz/Film Magic Indie director Gus Van Sant may not have won the directing slot on “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” like Robert Pattinson wanted him to, but the auteur is getting a second chance to work with one of the stars of “Twilight,” Taylor Lautner . According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two are set to make a small-budget film together based on a nonfiction article from the New Yorker, but there aren’t many details about the project other than that. Van Sant and Lautner recently found themselves in the middle of controversy. After photos of the two found their way online, GQ Australia asked Lautner during an interview whether the director and screenwriter Lance Ian Black, who had also been photographed with them, had hit on him. The publication has since apologized for the question, and Lautner explained that there was nothing odd about a writer and director meeting with an actor. Knowledge of this project now sheds more light on those meetings. The role means a change of director for Lautner, whose work outside the “Twilight” series since his rise to stardom has been limited to a small part in the ensemble rom-com “Valentine’s Day” with then-girlfriend Taylor Swift and a disappointing box-office debut as an action star in this past summer’s “Abduction.” That film’s lackluster receipts had critics skeptical as to the future career prospect of the man behind the abs. A role in a film with the Academy-Award nominated director at the helm could spell good things for Lautner in his post-“Twilight” years, especially considering Van Sant’s track record for directing great performances from actors. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian Photo: Denise Truscello/ WireImage Kim Kardashian’s siblings have already spoken out about her split from Kris Humphries , and now mom and manager Kris Jenner is weighing in on the very public divorce. “Kim obviously had to make a really tough decision yesterday, and it’s been really, really hard on her, for sure,” Jenner told MTV News’ Sway Calloway when she stopped by his “Sway in the Morning” radio show on SiriusXM’s Shade 45. “But as her mom, she knows me and she knows her family well enough to know that no matter what, I’m there, we’re all there for her through thick and thin. I told her: You have to follow your heart.” While the family is weathering the breakup storm, Kris had one message for the haters out there: Kim married for love, not profit. “The misconception that’s so annoying in the media and the press is that the wedding was a sham and she did it for the money,” Kris said. “Kim didn’t make any money off of this wedding. No. She didn’t make five cents off of the wedding. “She spent millions of dollars of her own money on a wedding,” she continued. “And you know our network was very generous and filmed the show and obviously gave her a salary, all of us our shooting fees and all that, but it’s not like we walked away with millions of dollars jingling in our pockets; absolutely not. … It’s tough when you have all the haters who have these licenses to say whatever they want and people don’t know the facts. … And people don’t know the facts. So get your facts straight, people, before you start judging.” Kim’s Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right While the divorce has seen its fair share of criticism, Kris noted that Kim’s fans have stuck by their girl through her darkest hours. “We have an intimate relationship with our fans and viewers that we really respect and love, and so many people have been so amazing and supportive,” she said. So will Kris J. miss Kris H., who has vowed that he’s “willing to do whatever it takes to make it work”? “Well, he’s a great guy,” she shared. “I like Kris, and he’s a good person, and they needed to do what they needed to do. Following MTV’s special, the three stars will sit down for an exclusive Q&A on MTV.com. Of course, in anticipation of Thursday’s MTV premiere, devoted Bella, Edward and Jacob followers are one step closer to learning what might be the #1 fan-voted “Twilight” moment . We already know that the “Eclipse” tent scene , showing the friendly rivalry between Edward and Jacob, sits at #5, and a particularly sexy scene stands out as our next fan favorite. So, what made the cut at #4? Well, it happens to be Lautner’s reveal of his very cut abs in “New Moon.” Long before that scene was captured on film, there had been fan chatter about whether a teenage Lautner could beef up enough to keep his part of werewolf Jacob Black in the second installment of the “Twilight Saga.” Determined to prove to naysayers that he had the muscle for the role, Lautner hit the gym and showed that he had the ambition, drive and physical bulk to keep the role. “I have been working out,” Lautner told MTV News in December 2008. “I’ve been working out since the day we stopped filming ‘Twilight.’ I just weighed myself today; put on 19 pounds [and] guaranteeing [director Chris] Weitz 10 more by filming.” All the promises and hard work paid off. The reveal of his admirable physique in the movie remains a fan favorite as our voters revealed. Kim Kardashian Files For Divorce

Reality star married Kris Humphries in a televised E! special 72 days ago. By Jocelyn Vena Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian Photo: Jerritt Clark/WireImage Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries said “I Do” in an elaborate, very public ceremony over the summer, and now comes word that the reality starlet and her basketball player hubby are calling it quits just 72 days after tying the know TMZ reported that Kim filed for divorce from Humphries on Monday (October 31), coincidentally the scariest day of the year. Sources told the site that Kim is not seeking an annulment and cites “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the split. The couple reportedly have a prenuptial agreement and celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser has been tapped to represent Kardashian. According to TMZ, the pair’s $10 million wedding cost approximately $138,888 a day as of October 31. A rep for Kim had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment as of press time. However, Ryan Secreast, who produces the reality star’s E! shows, confirmed the news on Twitter , writing, “Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few min.” The news comes as several tabloids have been reporting on Kim and Kris’ marital woes. Kardashian and NBA player Humphries married on August 20 in California in a lavish ceremony in front of friends, family and E! cameras. “The dresses were so gorgeous, and watching those beautiful girls walk down the aisle … they are absolutely stunning,” guest Julianne Hough gushed to MTV News after the ceremony. “To just see them walking down the aisle was just beautiful. And then little Mason, Kourtney’s little boy, he kind of stole the show.” The first few months of Kris and Kim’s marriage will be documented on the second season of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” which kicks off on November 27. In previews for the show, fans have gotten a peek at the short-lived marriage. “How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?” Kim asks Kris when he suggests they move to his hometown. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Director Talks Sex Scene ‘Adjustment’

‘It was more about romance than hot-and-heavy action,’ Bill Condon tells MTV News about toning down sex scene for PG-13 rating. By Amy Wilkinson Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment Was the first cut of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” racy enough to be slapped with an R rating? In the December issue of Glamour UK, star Kristen Stewart revealed that Bella and Edward’s feather-strewn sex scene was so saucy that it had to be recut. “It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a ‘Twilight’ film,” she recalled to the British mag. “I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!’ It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They recut it.” Though director Bill Condon couldn’t confirm the R rating when MTV News recently spoke with him on the phone, he did reveal the edits necessary to earn a more teen-friendly PG-13 for the November 18 release. “It’s almost clinical the kind of strict guidelines [the MPAA] have about anything that appears to be — how do I put it delicately? That appears to be, let’s call it thrusting. In fact, you know, it was so much more about romance than it was about hot-and-heavy action, so it was a very kind of simple adjustment to make.” If re-editing the infamous sex scene was one of the simplest items on Condon’s honeymoon to-do list, one of the most difficult was scouting the location: the secluded Isle Esme owned by Carlisle Cullen. “We went to Brazil where it was at, that felt important to us,” he said. “There are very few houses built on the water because it’s against the law. So they’re mostly built up, so it was hard to find a house that was like that. It took us — wow — we were five hours outside of Rio and then a boat trip of 40 minutes to get to this one island that had the house that we wanted.” It was a good thing Condon was satisfied with the locale seeing as he and the crew spent several unexpected extra hours there. “We spent four days there and one night, when we had this incredible hurricane and couldn’t get off the island,” he said. “Eighty of us slept in the house on the floor and in bathtubs. Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, More Are 2011 ‘VH1 Divas’

On Thursday (October 27), it was announced that Mary J Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence and the Machine and Jessie J will serve as the star-studded lineup for the long-running concert event, which airs December 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on VH1. This year, VH1 is paying tribute to prominent birthplaces of soul music, including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. Blige and company are expected to pay homage to these cities and the genre through their own soulful tracks as well as some of the genre’s classic tunes onstage at New York’s iconic Hammerstein Ballroom. And it’s not just women who are in on the celebration, but also the Roots, who have been confirmed as the event’s house band. ?uestlove is set to pull double-duty during the concert as musical director too. In a press release for the ceremony, VH1’s Lee Rolontz shared his thoughts on the 2011 theme. “This year’s telecast will showcase the vast impact soul music has had on the 21st century’s music and pop culture landscape as our talented and diverse lineup will attest,” he said. “This year’s Divas offers a modern twist on soul music, all while tipping its hat to the legacy of key cities that created this musical heritage.” Additional announcements regarding even more performers, presenters and special guests are to be expected in the coming weeks. Clarkson took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to share her excitement. “Super stoked to announce that I am performing at #VH1DIVAS!!” the songstress tweeted. “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” marks the former “American Idol” alum’s second appearance on the series. Robert Pattinson On Future Album Release: Maybe!

Rumors of Robert Pattinson taking a break from acting to record and release a CD , which have cropped up sporadically over the years, have been premature. But not entirely inaccurate. In an interview this week with French station TF1, the Twilight Saga star was asked about a future in music and replied: “Maybe one day… I’m always playing and recording but I don’t know. People hate when actors become musicians so I’ve been avoiding it for the longest possible.” Please, Rob. Your fans love it when you do pretty much anything.
