Gwyneth Paltrow To Duet With Matthew Morrison On His Debut Album

The ‘Country Strong’ star and the ‘Glee’ actor have recorded a version of ‘Over the Rainbow’ for his upcoming release. By Aly Semigran Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Morrison Photo: GETTY/ Michael Tran Holly Holliday will be making sweet music with Will Schuester once more. Translating from Gleek speak, Oscar-winning-actress-turned-singing-staple Gwyneth Paltrow will be crooning yet another number with Matthew Morrison. Entertainment Weekly reports that Paltrow will appear on Morrison’s upcoming solo album, which is due out on May 10. On “Glee,” recurring guest Paltrow — who plays flaky substitute teacher Holliday — has covered Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide,” Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” and Prince’s “Kiss,” the latter of which she performed with Morrison’s Mr. Schue. Now, the Golden Globe-nominated Morrison is having the “Country Strong” star help him out on his debut record, on a tune that’s become almost synonymous with his “Glee” character: “Over the Rainbow.” As Morrison told EW, “People kind of know me for that song now.” The Broadway-trained actor not only used the timeless “Wizard of Oz” number for his “Glee” audition, but also sang it with co-star Mark Salling (who released his own solo effort, Pipe Dreams , in 2010) during the season 1 finale — both times accompanying himself on ukulele. “I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it,” Morrison explained about the version he recorded for his album. “It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful.” Morrison admitted that he felt nervous about approaching Paltrow to see if she’d participate in the recording. “The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” he said. “I’m so not that guy.” In addition to Paltrow and John, Morrison also has ‘NSYNC member JC Chasez lined up for a duet on a song titled “Dancing in the Rain.” While there’s no word yet on who, if any, of his “Glee” castmates will appear on the record — both had championed to get their own duets on the album — co-star Jenna Ushkowitz has already been singing its praises . Ushkowitz, who plays glee-club member Tina Cohen-Chang on the show, told MTV News on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, “His music is really great.” She went on to say that Morrison “made his own sound” on the album, while adding that it was “a little bit of Justin Timberlake … [and] symphonic-sounding.” Morrison has yet to announce a title for album, though the actor did reveal to MTV News at Clive Davis’ post-Grammy bash in February that ” My Name ” has been considered as a possibility. Joe Jonas Talks Girlfriend Ashley Greene, New Solo Album

‘It feels good. I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first,’ Jonas tells Details about current flame. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas on the cover of Details Photo: Details Joe Jonas had everyone buzzing when he announced he was working on a solo album, like his little brother Nick did before him. And just like when Nick announced his project, fans were wondering if this meant the end for the Jonas Brothers. In the new issue of Details magazine, Joe is quick to point out that he has not left his brothers behind. “We’re not breaking up, we’re just taking a break,” he explained. “I really have a hope for the fans that got older and went, ‘You know what, I’m really not into the Jonas Brothers anymore,’ that I’m able to catch their ear again with my project and they’re able to go like, ‘Hey, this is cool stuff, I’m happy listening to this, I’m not embarrassed listening to this.’ “I’m growing up, the fans are growing up. I’ve gone through a lot of stuff in my life so far. There are stories I haven’t really been able to tell,” he continued. “When you’re writing with three people, you wind up with a sound that might be — not average — but, you know, expected. I wanted to do something you could hear in a club or something you could dance to, something that’s fun — something that’s me.” Jonas added that he’s getting personal on this album and will release his first single within the month. “I think all artists have a right to write about what happens to them,” Joe said, noting that he’ll sing about “different love scenarios that I’ve been through, breakups, hurts. Me hurting somebody and feeling bad about it. I think there’s a lot of scenarios where people might wanna hear my side of the story.” No word on whether his current girlfriend, “Twilight Saga” star Ashley Greene , will have any songs about her on the album, but she certainly seems to have made a dent in his life. “It feels good. I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first. She understands my busy schedule,” he said in the issue. “She’ll fly out to my shows — she’s been to places in South America that I can’t even pronounce.” He even shows some love to his former flame Demi Lovato . The pair broke up last year and she’s on the mend after dealing with some personal issues. Jonas has this message for her: “I wish her the best.” But Joe isn’t just talking about those two ladies. He debunks all the rumors about him being gay, saying, “There’s nothing wrong with being gay, but I’m not.” He added that he had his heart broken in a pre-Greene world. “I won’t say her name,” he said. “But I was in a relationship, and we tried to work things out, and she, you know — I was really upset because she — she broke up with me.” Related Artists Jonas Brothers

REVIEW: Glorious Bill Cunningham New York Captures the Face of the City, and Sometimes Its Feet

Long before “street-fashion photographer” was even a job description — before the Sartorialist first spotted a pocket square folded just so, before Tommy Ton even knew what a platform shoe was — there was Bill Cunningham’s regular New York Times photo-column, “On the Street,” a weekly feature capturing the range of looks and combinations found on the sidewalks of New York. Cunningham’s eye might be attracted by the recurrence of the color red, for example, or a dozen women wearing some variation of a black suede ankle boot. If Cunningham’s weekly photo-essays are catnip for people who care about fashion, they’re indispensable for people who don’t: The French, wisely, believe it’s important to have at least a glancing interest in fashion to be culturally literate, and on that score, “On the Street” neatly fulfills the minimum weekly requirement and then some.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Scene Will Be Shot In April

The pivotal ‘Twilight Saga’ scene will reportedly shoot next month in Vancouver. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson on the set of “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Fame Pictures With only four weeks left of filming for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I,” one of the key scenes left to be shot is the wedding scene between Edward and Bella. Now comes word that the scene will be shot during the first week of April in Vancouver. The news was revealed by Gil Birmingham, who plays Billy Black, during a chat at a “Twilight Saga” fan convention in Nashville over the weekend, according to AceShowbiz.com . Filming for “Breaking Dawn” is scheduled to wrap in mid-April, making the wedding scene one of the last in the film’s production. Late last week, the film’s production was suspended when tsunami warnings threatened production on Vancouver Island. MTV News had not received confirmation of the filming plans for the wedding scene as of press time. The Bella-Edward honeymoon scenes were shot late last year in South America. Fans were excited when a photo of Edward and Bella in bed, which Robert Pattinson later laughed off , was released as a tease. “It’s always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody,” he admitted about getting cozy in bed with a co-star. “But at the same time … it really depends on how it’s staged and stuff. It’s like doing Twister.” Kristen Stewart also spoke to MTV News last fall about the pressures of picking out just the right dress for that long-awaited wedding scene. “To be honest, it’s such a big deal. It’s such a big decision. I have a little hand in having a decision — or having an opinion more — but I think it’s pretty much up to Stephenie,” Stewart said, referring to “Twilight” saga author Stephenie Meyer. “I’m not quite sure exactly what it’s going to look like, but it will be beautiful, I’m sure,” she added.
