Levántate ! Floyd Mayweather has an impressive resume! Not only is he a five-division world champion but he has only taken on some serious bad asses in the ring! So which Latinos have lost to this undefeated boxer? Find out for yourself after the jump… See more at: LOSSIP
Floyd Mayweather has been released from prison, and just in time, too: the poor guy was totally wasting away in there! The boxer served two months of a 90-day sentence for domestic battery and walked out of Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas yesterday. He hugged various friends and family members – including 50 Cent – on the way to his car, but did not say anything to the media. Mayweather was jailed on June 1 after pleading guilty to an incident in September 2010 where he got physical with Josie Harris , the mother of his three children. It’s unclear, boxing-wise, what the future now holds for the undefeated champion. Fans are clamoring for a Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao bout, yet there’s little reason to believe this will happen any time soon. If ever. Mayweather has spoken of retirement and he did make $85 million in fight earnings last year – but when your nickname is “Money,” you can never have enough. We’ll see him back in the ring soon.
Let’s Get Ready To RUUUUUUUUMBLE! Manny Pacquiao is challenging Floyd Mayweather Jr. to split the giant purse 70 percent to the winner and 30 percent to the loser, if their mega-fight ever takes place. This could possibly be one of the biggest purses in boxing history, even by Las Vegas standards: According to the latest projections this would be boxing’s first $200million bout so the PacMan is upping the ante considerably. Mayweather originally offered Pacquiao a flat $40m on condition that he keeps all the pay-TV money. Pacquiao responded with a guarantee of $55m to Mayweather with them each taking a 50-50 split of the television revenue. No thanks, said Mayweather, who still wants all the extra loot for himself. Pacquiao’s latest call is a challenge, also, to Mayweather’s insistence that he would win easily. If so 70 percent would net Mr Money in the region of $140m. This is a hefty purse but Floyd has had a history of dodging Pac Man. Could it be because the real prize at stake is the holy grail of boxing, the title of greatest pound-for-pound fighter in the world, which Mayweather brags about being without ever fighting Pacquiao? That and Mayweather’s obsession with keeping his undefeated record all the way to retirement? Mayweather calls himself Money. But will he back himself to live up to the nickname? Both political and film-industry observers alike kept an eye on this weekend’s box office for more than just Harry Potter ‘s record-setting haul. It also happened to be the opening frame for The Undefeated , director Stephen K. Bannon’s notorious documentary about the ascent of Sarah Palin to the national political stage. So how did it do in limited release?
If you thought the Sarah Palin campaign-boosting documentary The Undefeated wouldn’t resort to such propaganda-y things as comparing the former half-term Alaskan governor to a Marine while video of a burning building plays onscreen, some bad news : it does. On the upside, however, is this hilarious juxtaposition: “On day one, Governor Palin made it absolutely clear that this was a different governor,” says someone in voiceover just as a dollar bill is being cut up with scissors. Different! (Alternate: That’s one way to slash the budget?) The trailer for The Undefeated is here.
