Alice Walton, Wal-Mart Heiress, Arrested For DUI

Alice Walton’s birthday ended with her in jail Friday night. The 62-year-old daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, and one of the 10 richest peeps in the U.S., Alice was arrested by Texas Highway Patrol and charged with DUI after she was nabbed for speeding in a construction zone. Those work zones get you every time. Why not slow down when you see the “fines doubled” sign? Well, guess that doesn’t matter if you have $20 billion … Alice Walton, who refused a breathalyzer test, “was determined to be intoxicated during a field sobriety test,” according to Senior Trooper Gary Rozzell. She was booked into the Parker County Jail after 11 p.m. Friday, reports the local news, and released on $1,000 bond around 8 a.m. on Saturday. Her attorney, Dee J. Kelly, said in a statement: “She was returning home from a birthday dinner with friends at a Fort Worth restaurant. She accepts full responsibility for this unfortunate incident and deeply regrets it.” Two thousand miles away, Occupy Wall Street protesters are cheering. She also might want to use some of that fortune on a haircut. Just saying.

Deion Sanders is now denying reports that he filed for divorce from his wife Pilar. After allegedly being caught cheating on numerous occasions it was shocking to hear that Deion was the one to break up with the other. We’re sure plenty of y’all feel her pain, riiiiight? While doing promo interviews for “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” Sarah Jessica Parker admitted that matrimony-dom is no joke and that she allots a “few” minutes a day to hate on her hubby of 14 years Matthew Broderick. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KISS FM breakfast show SJP addressed comments she made earlier this month about allowing herself moments of rage. She replied: “I think that’s healthy and I think it’s realistic. Some people have it down to 20 minutes a week. Other unfortunate people have it down to 20 minutes per hour.” But Sarah Jessica says she doesn’t always use up her quota. “In my life, we go many, many days without 20 minutes of bitterness,” she says. The Hollyweird couple has three children, James Wilkie, 8, and two-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha. So what do y’all think? Is it healthy to hate your spouse on the daily? Katy Perry Postpones Tour Dates Due To Illness

Just two days after Taylor Swift announced to fans that she would have to postpone dates on her Speak Now Tour because of bronchitis, Katy Perry said on Friday (July 8) that she will have to postpone two dates on her California Dreams trek after suffering from “an attack of food poisoning leading to severe dehydration.” According to a statement from concert promoters Jam Productions, Perry has rescheduled her July 8 show at Chicago’s Allstate Arena for August 21, and her July 9 gig at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center for August 23 in the same venues. And once recovered, Perry said she plans to make it up to her fans. “I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!” she said. Perry also took to Twitter to deliver the unfortunate news, tweeting , “Chicago and St. Paul – I’m so sorry to have to postpone today and tomorrow’s shows. But I’ll be back 8/21 (CHI) and 8/23 (St. Paul)!” Despite the tour-date postponement, the pop singer has been riding high off of her mega-successful Teenage Dream album, which is closing in on Michael Jackson ‘s #1 singles record. If the LP’s recently released “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” hits the top of the Billboard Hot 100, she’ll become the first female artist to have five chart-topping songs off one album. Additionally, Perry will become the first artist to nab the record since Jackson, who had five #1 singles off his Bad album in the late-’80s. Last week, we predicted that Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald would go home on American Idol, only to be stunned when Pia Toscano was eliminated . This shows what we know, but we doubt we were the only ones surprised. Nor do we expect we’re alone saying Stefano and Paul may be in danger again. Haley Reinhart also looked shaky, so it’s anyone’s guess. But neither Stefano or Paul took that step last night that would put them in the “safe” category. Right? Wrong? Walking Dead Billboard Kills in UK

A billboard promoting AMC’s hit The Walking Dead has sparked a bit of controversy in the UK this week, but not because of the show’s violent content. The huge banner – brandishing the tagline “What makes us human?” – for the zombie drama isn’t just visible, it’s unavoidable for people walking by. Which would probably be alright, except for what’s inside the building: Bad taste? Marketing genius? A hybrid of the two? Who knows! “There must have been somewhere else they could placed it that would have shown a degree of insight and sensitivity,” said a peeved resident . Advertiser Clear Channel reportedly issued this apology: “Clear Channel apologises for any offense caused by the unfortunate juxtaposition of this advertisement, which was certainly not intended.” “We arranged to have it removed right away.”

Lady Gaga has less sex appeal of a frail old man you see struggling with his bags getting off the bus…so you know she is either getting felt up by a crazed starstruck person who goes nuts when she sees anyone that she has seen on TV, or someone who buys into the Gaga marketing campaign that everyone knows is bullshit, except the millions of people who love her cuz they are missing things in their own life, and turn to this shit for hope and meaning, the same people making her rich, or maybe it’s just a lesbian, those lesbians will touch anything…. The worst thing in all this is that I was at an event Lady Gaga was hosting with Perez Hilton a few years ago. She had security and I kept reaching around them and grabbing her leotard ass. It was juicy and alright at the time, but I was drunk and she was all hopped up and didn’t realize what I was doing to her, making the whole molesting less fun when there’s no eye contact… That said, she is still disgusting, even in my lapse in judgement the day I grabbed her….not knowing whether she was a man or woman…but I’m an alcoholic pervert like that… Here are some pics of another unfortunate person grabbing at this miserable creature….

MIT’s Test Cell Patrick Gillooly, MIT Solar cells are intended to mimic the photosynthesis of plants — converting light into energy in the most efficient manner possible. But what other characteristics of plants could be handy for the renewable energy sector to mimic? How about the self-assembly of chloroplast, the component of plants that do all the vital photosynthesis. Leaves repair themselves after sun damage again and again to keep up their ability to convert light into energy.
