Caroline Manzo Confirms Real Housewives Departure, Has "Nothing More to Give"

For one reality star, the rumors are now a, well, reality. Following last night’s Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion , Caroline Manzo took to Twiter and confirmed that she’s leaving the franchise. Caroline Manzo Versus Teresa Giudice! “It’s been wonderful guys,” Manzo wrote. “I’ve decided to leave #RHONJ this season was my last. Love and kisses to you all. xoxoxo.” Rumors of Caroline’s departure first cropped up in September, but it’s not as if she’s saying goodbye to Bravo viewers: the network has signed Manzo to a spinoff hilariously titled Manzo’d with Children . But Manzo insists she isn’t leaving for her own fortune or fame. This move is all about integrity. “Over the past few years my outlook on the show has changed from something I couldn’t wait to show my future grandchildren to something I hope my future grandchildren never see,” she blogged, later adding: “For me, peace and integrity cannot be bought with money or fame… I simply feel that my role has run its course and I have nothing more to give.” Manzo was one of the program’s original cast members and will likely be missed by many viewers. For some reason.

Selena Gomez Tumbles Off Stage, Keeps Dancing

Down goes Selena Gomez! No, not on Justin Bieber . But off the stage during a performance this month in Fairfax, Virginia. As you can see toward conclusion of the following video, Gomez was dancing around in a slinky dress and white boots for a rendition of “Slow Dance” when she failed to realize how close she was to the end of the stage. But Selena reacted to the spill like a pro, slapping hands with a few fans and finishing up her routine. Macaulay Culkin Surprises Fans at Comic-Con, Wears Bunny Ears

As Macaulay Culkin once proved, slapping after shave on one’s face can be a traumatic experience. But that’s nothing compared to the jolt fans received over the weekend at New York Comic-Con when this reclusive actor made a rare public appearance… rocking some serious scruff, long hair and bunny ears. The star was on hand for the Robot Chicken panel Friday and is unrecognizable from his role as Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone franchise. Granted, those films debuted 23 years ago. But prepare to be taken very far aback when seeing what Culkin looks like these days in the following video: Macaulay Culkin Appears at New York Comic-Con Culkin also surprised attendees at a concert in Great Britain in April when he helped sing a rendition of “Kokomo.” Prior to that sighting, there had been unfortunate rumors of Culkin on drugs, sad, depressed and lonely . So we’d glad to see him out, about and looking to be healthy.

6-Year Old Dies on Board Carnival Cruise Ship

Very sad news today out of Florida: A six-year old boy passed away after drowning in a crowded swimming pool aboard a Carnival Cruise ship. Detective Javier Baez of the Miami-Dade Police Department told reporters that the incident took place when the child was playing with his older brother, as the unidentified victim was “found at the bottom of the pool.” Attempts to administer CPR were unfortunately not successful. Authorities are talking to witnesses and speaking today with the boy’s family, which hails from Winter Garden. This tragedy comes nearly two years after 32 people died in a Carnival Cruise ship sinking off the Italian coast in early 2012.

Bartender Receives Lottery Ticket as Tip, Wins $17,500

In light of a Red Lobster patron leaving a racist note on the receipt of a recent meal, it’s nice to know that not all customers aren’t total A-Holes, isn’t it? Case in point: Aurora Kephart, a 25-year old waitress/bartender at Conway’s Restaurant and Lounge in Springfield, Oregon was left two unplayed Keno tickets as a tip over the weekend. She used one and earned $5. She then scanned the second… and won $17,500! Bartender Wins $17,500 Via Tipped Lottery Ticket In response, a flustered Kephart told the customer that she couldn’t possibly accept the ticket, but “he had me sign it and said, ‘You’re the only one who can cash it now,'” Aurora told ABC News. Kephart did give the unidentified man a cut of her winnings, though, telling ABC: “I forced him to take it. I’m too humble for that. I absolutely just want to pay it forward. I don’t intend to keep all that money for myself.” Kephart plans to buy a new couch, save a bunch and also donate to a muscular dystrophy fundraiser. We hope you see this story, minister who gave a waitress the total shaft , and think twice about your actions next time.

That must have been painful. Man Brands His Girlfriend’s Genitals The low morals a person must have to brand a human being is disturbing. According to Mail Online An Arizona landscaper has been arrested for branding his girlfriend’s genitals with his initials. Christopher Lynn Jackson, 49, of Chandler, is accused of drugging the unidentified woman at a baseball game, who later awoke in pain to find him with branding equipment and a butane torch. She then found the letters ‘C’ and ‘J’ branded onto her ‘v*gin*l area’, Gawker.com reported. Jackson, the owner of a landscaping business called Lawn Tamers, apparently bragged to his now ex-girlfriend about having done the same thing to other former girlfriends, according to court documents obtained by New Times. He told the woman ‘her vagina was his’, after the incident in May. The incident was only reported last week when the woman finally built up the confidence to come forward. She claims the former couple were at a baseball game when Jackson asked her to go out dancing afterwards. The victim told Jackson she was too tired, so her offered her ‘energy pills’, which actually made her pass out. She awoke to find the assault taking place. Jackson was arrested on a felony aggravated assault charge and booked into jail. Somebody will be branding his sweet little azz in prison. Continue reading →

Paula Deen Cites Prop 8 Ruling in Seeking Lawsuit Dismissal

Embattled celebrity chef Paula Deen is using an unusual legal argument to hit back at Lisa Jackson, the former employee suing her for discrimination. Deen’s camp cited the Supreme Court’s June 26 decision striking down California’s Prop 8 as a reason a court should dismiss Jackson’s lawsuit. How does that work, you ask? Lisa Jackson filed a federal complaint against Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers, for subjecting her to racial harassment and a hostile work environment. Among other things, Jackson alleges that Deen made racist remarks about her employees. Paula denies this, but admits using racial slurs in the past. The Food Network decided not to renew her contract as a result of that admission, and a slew of the famed cook’s sponsors dumped her, as well. Now Deen’s legal team is hitting back hard against Jackson, charging in a brief that one of the plaintiff’s core claims against Paula is a complete lie. Specifically, Deen says Jackson’s claim that she was personally offended by Paula’s utterance of racial slurs since she has biracial nieces is untrue. Her lawyers have cited evidence that Jackson’s nieces are actually those of her partner’s, and that the little girls are Hispanic, not African-American. As such, Deen’s attorneys noted the opinion of the Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts on the Hollingsworth vs. Perry Prop 8 case. In order to have standing to sue, a person must prove they have “suffered a concrete and particularized injury that is fairly traceable to the challenged conduct.” “In other words, for a federal court to have authority under the Constitution to settle a dispute, the party before it must seek a remedy for a personal and tangible harm.” In Deen’s view, given that Jackson is white, she doesn’t have standing to bring the case because she herself didn’t suffer personally from race discrimination. She also lied or at least embellished the alleged discrimination. The court has yet to rule in the case, which has already torpedoed Deen’s empire. You can bet she will fight this tooth and nail, then likely countersue.

Lovelace Trailer and Poster: Steamy or Seedy?

What better way to celebrate the birth of this great nation than with a porn biopic? Well the trailer for one at least.  Lovelace stars Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace, an icon in the world of porn and star of  Deep Throat . Peter Sarsgaard does what Peter Sarsgaard seems to do best by playing her creepy husband.  Lovelace Trailer Lindsay Lohan was originally on board as Linda Lovelace but was replaced by Seyfried. Perhaps it’s time to stop and take a look at your life trajectory if you are replaced in a movie about a porn star. Just a thought. Click through the jump to check out the  Lovelace poster ! I’m not one that would usually think “porn biopic, I need to see that” but this looks really intriguing. It probably worked out for the best that Lohan was bumped for Seyfried because she is much more believable as the seemingly vulnerable and wide-eyed Linda Lovelace.  Add in Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavalle, and “is that really her?” Sharon Stone, and I’m sold.  Plus Juno Temple who you can see as a sex worker in the   Afternoon Delight trailer as well.
