The Downside of Heat Cogeneration at Coal Power Plants

A coal plant in China. Photo: Wikipedia , CC Don’t Turn Off the Heat Please Both the US and China have many coal plants (producing about 45% of the power in the US and 75% in China). One difference is that in China, it is more common for the waste heat from those power plants to be recovered and used to heat local residential buildings or for industrial purposes. On the face of it, this is a good thing, but as Kevin Bullis points out , this also… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Water Supply in CA Town Contaminated with Toxic Chemical Used to Make Explosives

Photo: Bobak Ha’Eri , Wikipedia, CC The vast majority of the time, tap water is your best bet for clean, cheap water in the US. Not so in Barstow, CA. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently declared a state of emergency in San Bernadino County when it was discovered that the water supply was contaminated with the toxic chemical perchlorate. TSA now needs false flag security incident to convince Americans to accept obscene pat-downs

With the grassroots backlash over the TSA's obscene pat-downs growing by the day, it's becoming fairly obvious that the only way the U.S. government is going to get the public to accept these Fourth Amendment violations is if there is another “terrorist incident” that's stopped by the TSA and its naked body scanners. So far, the TSA is molesting children, teens and grannies without being able to demonstrate that this gross violation of Americans' Fourth Amendment rights is having any effect whatsoever on improving air travel safety. But if there's anything to be learned from 9/11, it's that the sheeple are always willing to give up their rights if they can be scared into doing so. ( http://www.naturalnews.com/030452_R…) “After 9/11 people were scared and when people are scared they'll do anything for someone who will make them less scared,” said Bruce Schneier, a Minneapolis security technology expert, in an AP story ( http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101121…) . “But [this TSA] is particularly invasive. It's strip-searching. It's body groping. As abhorrent goes, this pegs it.” TSA is fighting for its survival The TSA is being threatened right now in a big way: One airport in Florida is already planning to ditch the agency and hire private contractors to run security. A NYC lawmaker has called for the “dismantling” of the TSA, and Rep Ron Paul has introduced legislationthat would result in TSA agents being arrested for felony crimes if they touched peoples' junk. The TSA, in other words, is fighting for its very survival right now. What it desperately needs is some new terrorist incident to remind the American people how much they need to give up their freedoms in exchange for security. Now, I'm not saying the TSA is going to plot to blow up an airplane or anything, but if there's anybody who has the access to sneak something past airport security, it's the TSA. How false flag operations achieve government goals The United States government has a long and detailed history of “staging” events in order to sway public opinion. The Gulf of Tonkin event in the Vietnam War era was deliberately staged by U.S. government officials in order to justify an escalation of military attacks on the North Vietnamese. Documents that were finally declassified just this year prove beyond any doubt that the U.S. government conspired to stage this “false flag” event. ( http://www.prisonplanet.com/de-clas…) Operation Northwoods was a similar plot. As Wikipedia relates: The planned 1962 Operation Northwoods plot by the U.S. Department of Defense for a war with Cuba involved scenarios such as hijacking or shooting down passenger and military planes, sinking a U.S. ship in the vicinity of Cuba, burning crops, sinking a boat filled with Cuban refugees, attacks by alleged Cuban infiltrators inside the United States, and harassment of U.S. aircraft and shipping and the destruction of aerial drones by aircraft disguised as Cuban MiGs. These actions would be blamed on Cuba, and would be a pretext for an invasion of Cuba and the overthrow of Fidel Castro's communist government. It was authored by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, nixed by John F. Kennedy, came to light through the Freedom of Information Act and was publicized by James Bamford.( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_…) On the conspiracy theory front, there have long been accusations that the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job” staged as a pretext to clamp down on Americans' freedoms and roll out the Patriot Act — the very law that coincidentally gives TSA agents the right to have anybody arrested and detained for 48 hours without cause, without a warrant and without legal representation. The evidence surrounding the collapse of the WTC 7 building now has literally thousands of engineers, scientists and citizens realizing the building was obviously brought down by demolition explosions ( http://buildingwhat.org ) and not an “office fire” as was the official explanation. The point of all this is that when governments are cornered but don't want to give in, they will sometimes resort to falsifying events in order to continue moving their agendas forward. As David Icke explains, it's the old “problem-reaction-solution” approach. First, create the problem, then wait for the public reaction that allows you to enact the government solution. The formula works like a charm for everything from pushing flu vaccines to justifying a war. In fact, there is evidence that U.S. agents may already be working on this plan. The fake bomb recently found on board a German passenger jet, we now know, was manufactured by a U.S. company ( http://www.prisonplanet.com/fake-bo…) . How government agencies keep themselves alive (and get more funding) Is the TSA at that point of desperation yet? I'm not sure, but it would certainly be easy for high-level TSA operatives to find some patsy who hates the government, convince him that he should carry some liquid explosives onto an airplane, and then “catch” him at a TSA security checkpoint, thereby proving that we need to keep giving up our freedoms in the name of security. The mainstream media would have a field day with that story, and for the next two weeks on the news, we'd all hear how important the TSA is and what a great job they're doing, and how this “terrorist” was caught by the naked body scanner machine, and so on. Don't be surprised to see such a scenario unfold. It's not that I personally distrust the TSA in particular, because there are some good people who work there and who are not to blame for all this, but at the same time I've been around long enough and studied enough true history to know that government organizations will do practically anything to stay in power. The DEA, for example, is desperately fighting against marijuana legalization not because marijuana is some highly dangerous drug (it isn't), but because it's job security for DEA agents. The CDC, likewise, went completely out of its way last year to spread fear about the H1N1 Swine Flu for the same reasons: Job security. There's nothing quite like declaring a stage-six pandemic to keep the Congressional funding flowing your way, huh? The CDC also has a fascinating history of completely distorting the AIDS epidemic in order to boost its own funding, by the way. Watch this eye-opening video from House of Numbersto learn more: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=4FE73… Every government agency — the TSA, CDC, FDA, USDA, FTC and so on — fights for its survival every year. That's because in an era of budget cuts, every agency knows it could potentially be on the chopping block for severe cuts. And funding cuts translate into job losses. So the unspoken rule at all government agencies is to “make ourselves important” in order to keep the money flowing. Bambi dead at 52

The prison escape of former Playboy Club bunny and Milwaukee police officer Laurie “Bambi” Bembenek popularized the phrase “Run Bambi Run” and seemed tailor-made for the TV movie it inspired. But despite the fame garnered by her flight, Bembenek died having spent more than two decades insisting on her innocence but never fully clearing her name. Her attorney said Sunday that effort will continue. The 52-year-old died Saturday of liver failure at a hospice care center in Portland, Oregon, said her longtime attorney, Mary Woehrer. Bembenek worked briefly as a Playboy Club waitress in Lake Geneva before becoming a police officer in Milwaukee, where she married detective Fred Schultz. Bembenek was convicted in 1982 of fatally shooting his ex-wife, Christine Schultz, after allegedly complaining about the alimony he had to pay. Bembenek was sentenced to life in prison but maintained her innocence. In 1990, she escaped Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac and fled to Canada with then-fiance Dominic Gugliatto, the brother of another inmate. added by: Ihatethemall

Do You Want A Real Revolution?

Once upon a time democracies worked fine for small tribes consisting of a number of families. Everyone simply got together and raised their hand to be counted. Easy. As populations grew, one could not hold massive public meetings for voting on every issue. So we developed a representative form of government, called a democratic republic. A person would be voted into office through democratic means and that person would cast a vote the Representative decided was best for their constituents. However, Republican government is not the friend of democracy and the freedoms of the people. In the course of time, as Representatives come and go, a Representative of the people will be corrupted by wealth and power offered to them by the wealthy and powerful. When that happens the people slowly loose their political power and everything degenerates once again into a have and have-not society of surfs and Aristocracy. Once upon a time, starting about two hundred years ago, we believed that was the best we could ever do and ever hope for. Today we have encryption technology. We have telephones and no pay phones that dial 911 without the need for money. We have computers, we have cell phones, we have TV and radio, newspapers, all of which informs us, all of which can be used in a system of voting. Grandma does not own a computer or TV. Grandma turns her newspaper to the Voting Pages where each bill in the state legislature and federal government is described and a pro and con opinion given, plus suggestions for further research. The deadline for the vote is given; say ten minutes before the representative casts their vote yes or no. Grandma picks up her phone, dials the voter number given for each bill, and uses her code or codes and votes. Tomorrow the newspaper will show the results and the voting record of the representative. In three days Grandma will receive a letter in the mail with her voter receipts, or she can opt for granddaughter to download her receipts off line and stay green. Grandma does a similar thing with her checks and bank transactions today. Every state has the option to pass laws making every representative in state legislatures, and in the federal government, subject to automatic recall by democratic process and a triggered recall when 10% of those representatives’ votes do not reflect the electronic democratic votes cast by the people, THE BOSS! A hearing is set and depending on state law, the representative will be subject to immediate dismissal or even criminal prosecution. Every state will be made accountable by responsible citizens on the local level, for setting up a system that is available to all eligible voters. In that way, cheating becomes a local issue forcing responsible citizens to get involved in the democratic process. Furthermore, it would force responsible citizens to get involved in politics at the state and federal level. Electronic Democracy evens the playing field between the average citizen that votes about every two years for a corrupt or corruptible representative, and the wealthy that can vote as many times as they like out of there wallets to corrupt that representative. I ask you, who really has more political power in the US today, when it is one-person one vote, and one wealthy person numerous votes? Be forewarned. The wealthy and powerful always bring out a BIG Scarecrow argument about democracies like those that I have described. They will say that crazy decisions are made by mobs of people with political power. They are correct if the average person ignores voting and let crazies run the government. However, that kind of mismanagement by the people is self-correcting. The moment some insane law is passed, the people will be forced to rise up and get involved. The more crazy laws pass, the more the rise of the people until real democracy and the power of the people is restored. In the United States, we believe in and trust the people to make the right decisions if they exercise their power to vote. That is based on a belief that human beings as a species have the ability to routinely make the correct political decision if they exercise their political power. This is the entire bases of Democracy. If it is a wrong assumption about us, then democracy for Homo Sapien is an impossibility. I for one do not believe that. However, let us put it to the test. We like to call the United States the great experiment in democracy. We can prove that the experiment is successful by using Electronic Democracy and forcing our elected representative employees to carry out the orders of their employers, the people of the United States of America. The best thing about Electronic Democracy exercised on a state-by-state bases, it is not unconstitutional. Note; lazy people can always vote in the general elections. I do not have the computer ability to start the process. But someone reading this does. Set up sites that take the votes of the people in each state, on every issue before state legislatures and our federal congress. Prove that it can work using encryption and technologies I do not understand but I am sure readers do. The revolution will be held on the internet, you are invited to join. The best way to prove this is the way to restore our freedoms and our democracy is to just do it independently. Then show the people that it works. Personally, I trust Al Gore and Current to make this happen. Maybe open a new tab and call it, Current the Democracy Project. But, if not, we can do it ourselves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izddjAp_N4I&feature=player_embedded# ! added by: ezrierin

The United States imprisons it’s own

With nearly 25% of the world's inmate population, who says the United States doesn't have political prisoners? Excerpt: “Indeed, the United States leads the world in producing prisoners, a reflection of a relatively recent and now entirely distinctive American approach to crime and punishment. Americans are locked up for crimes — from writing bad checks to using drugs — that would rarely produce prison sentences in other countries. And in particular they are kept incarcerated far longer than prisoners in other nations.” How is this helpful to society? Why doesn't Americans and politicians take a good hard look at this issue? Coupled with an extremely dysfunctional judicial system populated largely by opportunistic prosecutors who believe they are empowered to wield the hand of God play the role of Judge, jury and executioner over people's lives, it's little wonder we incarcerate so many. In my own experiences with the judicial system I can tell you with NO uncertainty the legal system has no interest in “truth”, “right” or “wrong”. The judicial system executes sloppily prosecuted people, knowing full well the inadequacies of the process. Prosecutions and executions sought and pushed forward by prosecutors who decided for themselves who was guilty, ignorant of their own weaknesses, failings, projections and externalization. Our nation shoots itself in not just the foot, but the leg and the abdomen. Our judicial system's conduct is terminal and fatal to our society. Need we look at the actions of the Supreme Court allowing corporations the buying of judges, politicians and political favorable agendas and legislation AT the expense of the electorate? That you believe you haven't been touched by the dysfunction of the judicial system is no excuse for ignorance or worse yet, indifference to the violations and victimization's of the judicial system on the American people. Not convinced? Just think about it. Why does the US's 5% of the world's population house nearly 25% of the worlds prisoner population and at what expense to you financially in the form of taxes? At what expense to society to loose so many of it's primarily male population? What is a country more interested in prosecuting and jailing it's people than helping them? More interesting facts: “Children of incarcerated parents have increased risk of anxiety, depression, aggression, truancy, attention disorders and poor scholastic performance.” I met a homeless young man who had been incarcerated for 3 days not paying a bus fee of less than $5.00. And still more interesting facts: “Children of incarcerated parents have increased risk of anxiety, depression, aggression, truancy, attention disorders and poor scholastic performance.” Would you rather the state and Federal Government paid for the bus fare and not incarcerated the young man or waste some $250.00 a day for his incarceration plus court costs? Who makes decisions like this? Is it crazy or has the legal and judicial system itself become the monster? Again, is an unpaid bus fare of less than $5.00 worth blowing more than $600.00 of American tax payer money? Is this what “being tough on crime is”? That's a resounding: YES! Did the people who conduct our legal and judicial system in this way go to college? Are they idiots? Are they intentionally trying to destroy America or are they just really really stupid? Fact 1: Not everyone in prison is guilty. Fact 2: Not everyone accused is guilty. Personally, I can't believe a civilized society would conduct itself so self-destructive and so oblivious to the Obvious! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/us/23prison.html added by: VoyagerFilms

Supreme Court Will Soon Issue a Landmark Decision on the Validity of the Constitution

The United States Supreme Court will soon issue a landmark decision on the validity of the Constitution. The Supreme Court will consider three petitions filed by William M. Windsor, a retired Atlanta, Georgia grandfather. The decision should be rendered by the end of the year. Unless The Supreme Court acts, federal judges will be free to void the Constitution. The Questions Presented to The Supreme Court by Grandfather Windsor are: Will The Supreme Court declare that the Constitution and its amendments may be voided by federal judges? Should federal judges be stopped from committing illegal and corrupt acts to obstruct justice and inflict bias on litigants? Will The Supreme Court be afraid to disclose the corruption in the federal courts? These questions are presented in three separate Petitions for Writ of Mandamus filed with The United States Supreme Court the first week of November 2010 (appeal numbers to-be-assigned). Windsor has been involved in legal action in the federal courts in Atlanta since 2006. Windsor was named a defendant in a lawsuit (1:06-CV-0714-ODE) in which Christopher Glynn of Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls, swore under oath that Windsor did a variety of things including the crimes of theft and bribery. Windsor stated under oath that Christopher Glynn made it all up and lied about absolutely everything that he swore. Windsor then obtained deposition testimony from Glynn and the other managers of the Maid of the Mist boat ride in Niagara Falls, and they admitted, under oath, that charges against Windsor were not true. Despite this undeniable proof, federal Judge Orinda D. Evans declared that the grandfather of three should not have fought the lawsuit, and she forced him to pay over $400,000 in legal fees. Windsor appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, but federal judges Dubina, Hull, and Fay rubber-stamped Judge Evans' ruling. Windsor then took his appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court where the justices said the appeal was not worthy of their consideration (cert denied). Windsor believes that the federal courts and nine federal judges violated the Constitution, the Due Process Clause, and the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution. Windsor says: “I have discovered that, at least in Atlanta, Georgia, the federal courts operate like a police state in which the judges are all-powerful, committing criminal acts from their benches and violating the Constitutional rights of parties who have the misfortune of appearing in their courts.” Windsor has now tossed the hot potato right square in the laps of the justices of the Supreme Court. By filing mandamus petitions rather than an appeal, The Supreme Court is forced to deal with Windsor's allegations of corruption in the federal courts. Grandfather Windsor hopes for the best but fears for the worst: “I hope The Supreme Court is decent, honest, and cares about the Constitution and the citizens of the United States. However, I am sorry to say that at this point, I suspect the corruption goes all the way to the top. My charges have been totally ignored by the United States Attorney's Office, the FBI, and Congress. I have said to The Supreme Court that the issues can all be boiled down to one question: Is The United States Supreme Court prepared to stop the federal judges in Atlanta, Georgia from functioning like common criminals?” Windsor says: “If The Supreme Court fails to act against these federal judges, the citizens of the United States need to know that there is not a shred of decency, honesty, or Constitutional rights in our federal courts. Corruption has consumed the federal court system, and we now live in a police state. Judges are free to do absolutely anything they want. Our laws are meaningless. Your life savings can be stolen by a federal judge, and they have no risk in violating every law in the books.” The Supreme Court may render its decision before the end of the year. Kathleen Parker Falsely Claims Alexander Hamilton was an Illegal Immigrant

On Thursday's Parker-Spitzer, CNN's Kathleen Parker bizarrely and inaccurately claimed that Alexander Hamilton came to the United States illegally and drafted the Constitution: “Let's remember… a lot of Americans did come through the back door such as Alexander Hamilton. He got off the boat from the West Indies, and all he did was write the Constitution and become the first Secretary of the Treasury .” Parker raised this false history during a discussion of Pedro Ramirez, Fresno State University's student body president, who was outed as an illegal immigrant by a student newspaper . After playing clips from Ramirez and his opponent during the student election, who is also the president of the Fresno State College Republicans, the CNN host displayed sympathy for the college student: “This is kind of a classic though, isn't it, really? I mean, you've the college Republican versus the illegal immigrant, and it's kind of a classic clash, you know, that corresponds to this immigration debate we're having in this country. And clearly, when you put a human face on the illegal immigrant, it's a different story. I mean, nobody wants to punish this young 22-year-old .” [ Video embedded below the page break ] read more
