Survivor of two atomic bombs dead at 93

Tsutomu Yamaguchi died Monday morning as the result of stomach cancer. He was the the only person to have survived both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings. He was 93.

That seems to be the message sent by the British courts, which have just declared that Star Wars' Stormtroopers aren't copyrightable. The British Court of Appeals upheld the original British verdict that the familiar white-and-black costume couldn't be considered copyrighted because it wasn't art

But since I don’t know anything about Ugandan politics, I asked Andrew Rice , a friend who wrote a book about Uganda, if he could add some context. E.P.A. sets carbon crackdown

The Environmental Protection Agency on Monday will finalize its determination that greenhouse gases pose a danger to human health and the environment, paving the way for regulation of carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles, power plants, factories refineries and other major sources. The move gives President Obama a significant tool to combat the gases blamed for the heating of the planet even while Congress remains stalled on economy-wide global warming legislation.
