First single from Trent Reznor/ Atticus Ross soundtrack is Karen O cover of Led Zeppelin song. By Gil Kaufman Rooney Mara in “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” Photo: Giles Keyte/Columbia Pictures You kind of can’t go wrong when the soundtrack you’ve put together for one of the most eagerly-anticipated literary adaptations in years kicks off Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O’s take on Led Zeppelin ‘s “Immigrant Song.” Fans heard the throbbing industrial take on the rock classic cooked up by former Nine Inch Nails mastermind and O did when a trailer for the David Fincher-directed “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” leaked back in May. And on Thursday, Oscar-winning industrial-rocker-turned-film-composer Reznor and musical partner Atticus Ross unveiled the full track list for their “Tattoo” score album. The follow-up to their award-winning “The Social Network” score was a labor of love, according to a post Reznor put up on the NIN site on Thursday announcing the disc. “For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher’s ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,’ ” he wrote about the American version of the tale of pierced and punished hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) and her muckraking journalist compatriot Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) . “We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers. The result is a sprawling three-hour opus.” The album will be released on iTunes on December 9 in two versions. Right now, you can download the Karen O song on iTunes when you pre-order the 39-track album. That download purchase will also give you a link to the eight-minute “Dragon Tattoo” trailer , for which Reznor and Ross created a unique score. But, if you visit the NIN online store , Reznor is offering the soundtrack in a variety of forms, from a free six-track sampler to a deluxe 3,000-piece limited-edition signed $300 package with your choice of MP3 formats; the full album on six pieces of 180 gram vinyl; a deluxe book package with a metal cover; an exclusive custom 8 GB metal razor blade USB drive pendant containing the full album; and a fold-out poster. The full album score track list is as follows:
In this week’s ‘Talk Nerdy to Me,’ the team tackles the Batman prologue, the latest ‘Ender’s Game’ casting and more. By Josh Wigler Photo: Warner Bros. Pictures After a weeklong hiatus, “Talk Nerdy to Me” is back in action with all of your comic book, movie and TV needs. From today’s official announcement of the “Dark Knight Rises” prologue to a special cameo from Daniel Day-Lewis’ Abraham Lincoln beard, this week’s “Talk Nerdy” has it all. Keep reading for a taste of what you’ll see this week, and watch the episode in the video below! “Dark Knight” Prologue Confirmed Now that the news is official, the Talk Nerdy team is left wondering what Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight Rises” prologue might entail. Are we in store for a “Batman Begins”-inspired montage? Might we see the death of a popular character from the Caped Crusader’s supporting cast? We floated a few of our own theories, however ridiculous, in this week’s episode. “Ender’s” Cast The wheels are most certainly in motion for “Ender’s Game,” director Gavin Hood’s big-screen adaptation of the beloved Orson Scott Card novel. “Hugo” star Asa Butterfield has been confirmed to play the titular Ender, and there are talks of “True Grit” actress Hailee Steinfeld and the legendary Harrison Ford joining the cast as well. Great actors, to be sure, but are they the right ones for the project? Find out what Nerdy’s Brian Phares thinks about the upcoming project. The “Game of Thrones” Blu’s When you play the “Game of Thrones,” you win or you die. But when it comes to the HBO fantasy show’s upcoming Blu-ray collection, it looks like we’re all going to win. The Blu-ray was announced earlier this week, and the details are bound to have fans of the franchise foaming at the mouth. The Nerdy team geeked out over the upcoming collection, especially the announced “Creating the Dothraki Language” feature. Spider-Leak, Spider-Leak The weekend box office is dry in terms of new wide releases, so we recommend you just go ahead and see “The Muppets” again. It’s that good! In lieu of our normal box-office report, this week’s Talk Nerdy focused on the infamous “Amazing Spider-Man” Lizard leak from earlier in the week. Needless to say, the team was not impressed. Remember Tracy Morgan’s homophobic rant earlier this year? No? Well T.I. does, and he thinks it was hilarious! The rapper brought the scandal back to life when he told Vibe that Morgan’s anti-gay jokes were the funniest of all time. The comments have Morgan toeing a fine line between staying under the radar and distancing himself from T.I., who’s reveled in “the funniest jokes I ever heard.” T.I. then ignited even more controversy. Not only does he find the anti-gay humor funny, he suggested that the backlash against Morgan’s stand-up is un-American. “They’re like, ‘If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down,'” T.I. told Vibe . “That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace.” “If you’re against it, you should also have the right to be against it in peace.” The rapper, who was recently freed from jail , later walked that last part back somewhat, saying that gays are not anti-American, but the actions of a select few are. “I believe you have the right to do whatever you want to do as long as you’re not hurting anyone. I was quoted correctly, but I was taken out of context,” he said. He says the U.S.A. is an “institution built around allowing us to speak peacefully and respectfully in opposition of any point or any topic that comes up,” T.I. added. He went on to add that he’s not even against same-sex marriage, and that members of the African-American community acts in the same, oversensitive way as well. Fair enough, but is what Morgan said, which was borderline hateful, really peaceful or respectful? And would T.I. react the same way to N-word-laden rants? Just curious. Thoughts on T.I.’s comments?

MTV is looking for millennials to talk about the upcoming presidential election. By Gil Kaufman President Barack Obama Photo: MTV News Whether you’ve tuned in to all the Republican debates so far or are cooling it on the sidelines until the action really heats up next summer, MTV News wants to talk to you about the upcoming 2012 presidential election. We’re filming a documentary about the 2012 race and are looking for young people to take part in a show chronicling how millennials are feeling about the race between President Obama and his eventual Republican rival. The program will shoot between November 28 and December 11 nationwide, and anyone 18 and older interested in taking part should e-mail election12@mtvnmix.com and put “Election 2012” in the subject heading. Prospective participants should also include the following information: name, 18+ (yes or no), gender, phone number and hometown, as well as whether or not you are in school; if so, what school do you attend, and if you are currently working, what is your job? We would also like to know which issues, if any, you are passionate about (jobs, health care, education, immigration, etc.) and how you would describe your views on the 2012 election in one sentence. Producers also ask that you include a picture of yourself. The questions are intended to ensure that participants represent a diversity of interests and political views. In the midst of ongoing financial difficulties, President Obama is gearing up to launch his re-election campaign against a field of Republican contenders. Though the lead has changed a number of times over the past few months, at press time the leading contenders on the GOP side include former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, ex-House leader Newt Gingrich, former Godfather’s Pizza boss Herman Cain and fading Texas Governor Rick Perry.
I adore Kelly Brook , it’s that simple, so I had to post these shots from her upcoming calendar. I don’t buy calendars, I don’t know anyone who does anymore, but I might have to reconsider after seeing this hotness. Not only is the woman pretty much perfection, but she’s half naked in her sultry lingerie. Yes please. How can I find an escort who’ll do a Kelly Brook impersonation? The accent has to be just right.
