As Vulture noted the singer is releasing a new album any day now as per her recent interview in New York Times’ T Magazine . According to the lengthy feature, the new project will “likely arrive into the world fully formed at some mysterious and unexpected moment”. Her description of the direction is just as complex. “There is a lot of jazz at the core. But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle” she explains. Source: Collier Schorr / Collier Schorr / T Magazine The “Cranes In The Sky” singer also detailed how she is trying to take a step back from being the protagonist of her material. “I realize how much wider, figuratively and literally, my work could be if I took myself away as subject.” Her unique and very lengthy recording process is also revealed. “I like to be able to tell the story in 13 different ways, then I like to edit.” The Times reports that each song for A Seat At The Table were all 15 minutes or longer and then she trimmed them down. Along with lightly touching on the yet to be named LP she also discussed her creative aspirations from as a child (“My dream was to go to Juilliard”) and shares how even with her popularity she still gets nervous about releasing her projects (“I have this fear living in my body about releasing work”). Today London-based artist Tom Misch enlisted the talents of De La Soul for his visuals to “It Runs Through Me” where the singer recreates a 70’s styled studio while Posdunos made his appearance on the old school tube. Tube is old school slang for TV, millennials. It’s also about Teairra Mari looking super crazy for still keeping in contact with Akbar after all that he (allegedly) did to her. Hold that thought, though. Tonight’s episode picks up with Marcus kicking it with A1. Of course, he tells A1 about what RoccStar said at Ray J’s Father Figure Fridays situation. You remember, right? RoccStar alleges to have slept with Lyrica. A1 says he has decided to move forward so it is what it his. In other news, A1 and Lyrica are having a gender reveal. Marcus is invited, but Brooke is not, as per Lyrica (later on, Lyrica invites Princess Love to her gender reveal but not Ray J). No messies allowed. Then, A1’s mother crashes their lunch and she’s not happy (and water is wet). Marcus senses her attitude and leaves them alone. Mama A1 is there to tell him about the reboot of the beef that she has with Lyrica’s mom and she wants A1 to get a DNA test. A1 doesn’t trip though. He’s trying to live his best life, reconciled with his wife. Then we get to Teairra Mari’s crazy situation. Basically. Nikki gathers her girls together to kick it post London and Moniece fills her in on the tension with Teairra. Teairra shows up just as Moniece is chatting about her. TT gets tight, but Moniece explains how she saw video of Teairra Akbar dropping TT off at the airport in Texas. Someone was sitting behind their car recording this entire thing. This is nuts. Teairra says she did still love him and that she went for closure only to find out that he was just trying to finesse her so that she would drop the lawsuit. Then she says this is none of their business anyway. Moniece, Nikki and La’Britney are just looking at her like… Because if you recall, TT dragged them into it and some of them were even at the press conference. Nikki confronts Solo Lucci at the studio to confront him about the rumors he has been spreading about sleeping with her. La’Britney is there to support her and RoccStar was already there kicking it with Solo Lucci. You know the supporting friends are sitting there like: Because…nosey. Anyway, Nikki immediately starts going in on him calling him a poser while Solo Lucci is firm in his stance that he did have sex with her and it’s a game of he said she said. Nikki just gets frustrated and dumps a bag of money before sashaying out. Solo Lucci and RoccStar discuss how Nikki got this info from Brooke and that Brooke feeds Marcus tea and they’re both just some gossip spreading fools. They confront him later on and he starts copping pleas. Yeah, this isn’t going anywhere yet, but Brooke and Marcus are about to be messy exiles if they keep playing. TT also gets a chance to confront Brooke and the general consensus is that TT is ridiculous no matter how you swing it, especially since Akbar claims that they’ve had sex again and that it’s also on camera…again. TT denies this but again, her word is not her bond from what we can tell. Now we’re at Lyrica and A1’s gender reveal. Family and friends show up to support the couple and even their moms manage to get along as Lyrica and A1 squirt blue water at each other via water guns. Yup, it’s a boy! Tonight’s episode ends with Teairra Mari sitting on a bench all dramatic-like. She texts Akbar saying she wants to talk, and he replies, telling her to name a time and place. Lordt. But we’ll have to wait and see what happens next week. Du Bois Medal from the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at the vaunted institution. Page Six reports : Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and comedian Dave Chappelle are among eight people being saluted by Harvard University for their contributions to black history and culture. All eight recipients of the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal will be honored Thursday afternoon by the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard. Kaepernick, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers, created a firestorm when he began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality and social injustice. Now free, the comedian had an arrest warrant out on him in Georgia but he somehow managed to avoid extradition. TMZ reports: Law enforcement in Multnomah County, Oregon tells us Katt was released from jail at around 2 PM PT. He’d been cooling off in a cell since getting arrested Saturday for allegedly assaulting a driver. We’re told he was cut loose after authorities in Hall County, GA declined to extradite the comedian for failing to appear in court last month. We broke the story … Katt had a felony warrant issued for his arrest after he skipped court to attend the Emmys. Sources close to Katt told us he’s blaming his management for failing to remind him about his date with a judge. A father of six, who was also an aspiring rapper, was shot and killed outside of a Queens, NY lounge on early Sunday morning (Oct. 8). Frank Snyder, 35, was gunned down in a drive-by shooting as he walked into the Tavern Lounge on Jamaica Ave. Reports the New York Daily News : “We were singing ‘Happy Birthday’ and next thing you know, everybody is going crazy,” said Tiesajah Reynolds, 20, who was working at the bar. “I didn’t even know what was going on until I saw (Snyder) on the floor gasping for air and blood everywhere.” Snyder was wounded in the neck and leg. Medics rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, where he died. He was hosting a birthday party for two fellow hip-hop artists at the Tavern Lounge when he was killed, according to an Instagram post. His mother, Debra Snyder, said investigators told her “he was outside promoting his music and it was a drive-by (shooting). He didn’t have enemies, but there was a lot of jealousy. He did shows in the club every Saturday,” she said. Snyder went by the moniker Hollywood Play and reportedly performed at the club every weekend. Police say there were several men in the car—a dark colored sedan—with the gunman. However, no arrests have been made.
