Back Together?: Nick Cannon And Ex Boo Thang C-Milli Reconcile On Radio Show… “I’m Sorry For The Things That I Did.”

Water under the bridge … Nick Cannon and Christina Milian have put their differences behind them to reconcile live on his radio show: The pair were one of the urban world’s hottest couples before they split in 2005 following reports of cheating on Nick’s side. Both have moved on since with Christina becoming mother to two-year-old Violet and Nick happily married to Mariah Carey and father to twins Morrocan and Monroe. While Christina called in to promote her new role on The Voice, the conversation soon turned to their failed relationship. “Regardless of my big mouth back in the day, I’ve got all great things to say about Nick too,” Christina admitted. Nick’s co-host Sarah Lee forced Nick to apologise for his womanising ways, saying: “I’m sorry for the things that I did. We was young.” Nick and Christina were always a “cute” couple, do you think the apology was sincere? Source More On Bossip! XXL Magazine Names Top 10 Hip-Hop Books

Read the original:

Since it’s inception, hip-hop has infiltrated more than neighborhood boomboxes.  As of late, hip-hop has turned it’s eye towards dominating the literary world. Decoded written by Jay-Z and dream hampton hit the New York Times’ Best Sellers List in the fourth quarter of last year and remained there for quite some time. Following the trend, rappers have started putting out their own literary works. XXL Magazine took notice and created a list of the Top 10 Hip-Hop Books. The Urban Daily is especially proud because our Chief Content Officer Smokey D. Fontaine co-authored an entry. He and DMX collaborated on E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX . Here’s what XXL had to say about our friend and boss: It was DMX’s passion and revealing honesty that helped the Ruff Ryder thrive as an artist in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and those same factors ensured that his book, E.A.R.L.: The Autobiography of DMX (Harper Collins), was as gripping as the emotional prayers heard on his albums. The autobiography focuses more on the man than on his music, with the Dark Man opening up about violence, imprisonment, familial neglect and building his family during his formative years. The unpredictability that has marked much of the Yonkers rapper’s career was, unsurprisingly, also present during the writing process. What ensued for co-author Smokey D. Fontaine was months on the road, hundreds of hours of tape and full immersion in DMX’s everyday life. “I carried a micro-cassette [recorder] in my pocket everywhere we went. Had my hand in my pocket. We’d be in conversation, whenever we started getting into it, I’d press record,” Fontaine says. “We never had one scheduled time to sit down and talk about his life. It was all fly-on-the-wall. It was all completely organic.” Like X. Check out the rest of the list at XXL.com . Rihanna’s Talk That Talk: Five Key Tracks

‘We Found Love,’ ‘Watch n’ Learn’ define singer’s sixth album. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Ian Gavan/ Getty Images Rihanna ‘s Talk That Talk might be the defining party album of 2011. Released Monday (November 21), the singer’s sixth studio album in nearly as many years is the kind of record a DJ can play straight through at a club, filled with pulsing bangers about all things sexy. To say the least, it’s not an album for those who easily blush. It’s hard, grinding and aggressive. Rihanna uses the type of saucy language not often heard on mainstream pop records. Rounding up a slew of A-listers including Calvin Harris, Dr. Luke, Stargate, The-Dream, Ester Dean and No I.D., Rihanna put together a cohesive record about how hot love can get between the sheets. MTV News’ picks for Talk That Talk ‘s five key tracks: “We Found Love” One of two Calvin Harris collaborations (the other is the equally club-stomping “Where Have You Been”), “We Found Love” defines this era for the singer, whose album is heavily influenced by dance music and club culture. “WFL” is so big and infectious that it’s hard to ignore the strength of this track. “Cockiness” Perhaps the most swagged-out track on all of TTT, “Cockiness” is a no-holds-barred, full-throttle song. Produced by Bangladesh, Rihanna relays absolutely everything she wants her man to do once they manage to sneak away and get it on. Full of sirens, thumping beats, tempo changes and sampled noises, “Cockiness” is raunchy — the kind of raunchy you want to dance the night away to. “Talk That Talk” Joined by her mentor Jay-Z (who lyrically struts over this track like it’s still the “Umbrella” days), this Stargate-produced track is classic Rihanna. Big and hard with just enough brightness, it’s the type of song that can get played on both Urban and Top 40 stations. Where “Cockiness” was brazen, “Talk That Talk” allows the sex to live in a place that feels less NSFW. “Roc Me Out” Rarely is Rihanna vulnerable on this album, and rarely would that happen on an uptempo jam. On this Stargate track (the third of three), Rihanna displays her signature bravado, but hidden in there is one deep insight into who Ri is on the inside when she confesses, “Take a peek at the girl I hide/ I’ll let you in on a dirty secret/ I just wanna be loved.” “Watch n’ Learn” A sort of how-to guide, the playful Hit-Boy track “Watch n’ Learn” is all about Ri teaching her man how to love her just the right way. The lyrics are quite sassy, but the melody is just soft enough to make you forget that the track is actually kind of dirty. What’s your favorite Talk That Talk track? Tell us in the comments!

Urban Meyer To Coach Ohio State Football Team?

Read more:

Ohio State University may have a new head coach of the football team, now that Ohio native Urban Meyer has been contacted about the job. Current head coach Luke Fickell was named interim head coach earlier this year, after Jim Tressel’s abrupt resignation. But Fickell has had a challenging season. The Buckeyes are usually at the top of the Big 10 conference and national championship contenders. This season, they’re not even ranked. The news about Meyer comes after the Buckeyes’ loss to Penn State University. According to ESPN , Meyer has denied that he’s going to Ohio State and said, “I’ve not been offered any job, and I’ve certainly not accepted any job.” Notice how he didn’t deny having talks with the school? Meyer currently works as a broadcaster for ESPN, but is best known for his success as the head coach at the University of Florida. The Gators won ove 100 games and two national championships under Meyer’s decade of leadership. He resigned in 2010 to spend more time with his family. Larry Davis Biopic Gets The Greenlight

Excerpt from:

The 25th anniversary of Larry Davis’ infamous gun battle with 30 New York City police officers which left six injured is this coming Saturday. As New Yorkers reminisce about the events that sparked a 17 day manhunt for the South Bronx criminal, Epoch Motion Pictures grabbed television writer, Kevin Arkadie , to draft the screenplay for Davis’ biopic. Arkadie is known for penning and producing episodes of cop dramas, “NYPD Blue,” “New York Undercover,” “The Shield.” After acquiring the rights to the controversial figure’s life story earlier in the year, executive producer and Epoch head honcho, Anderson Villen stated, “We feel there’s no one else that understands the subtleties and nuances of this project more than Kevin. He helped usher urban culture into the mainstream as writer/creator of New York Undercover and his 20+ year career is testament to his ability to capture the inner-city experience.” Larry Davis’ story is meant for the big screen. For those unaware, Davis was tried and acquitted of murder three times before being convicted for weapons possession and an unrelated murder case. According to Variety.com , production is set to begin shooting in the summer of 2012 in the South Bronx. Five Greek Tales That Deserve To Be On The Big Screen

Read the rest here:

Immortals starring Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke opens in theaters nationwide today. Director Tarsem Singh offers a visually stunning retelling of the story of Theseus (Cavill),  a heroic young man who must save the world against the bloodthirsty and power hungry King Hyperion (Rourke). Watch trailer below: With Hollywood’s everlasting love affair with epic “sword and sandal” stories   The Urban Daily offers five classic Greek tales that deserve the silver screen treatment. Lysistrata Written by the playwright Aristophanes, Lysistrata takes a comedic look at one woman’s mission to end the Pelopennesian War.  Lysistratra rallies the women of Greece together to withhold all sexual favors from the men in order to force them to negotiate peace with their enemy. Lysistrata holds the distinction of being one of the earliest pieces of literature to explore sexual politics in a patriarchial society. The “Real” Clash of The Titans Although we’ve seen Zeus lording over the fate of mortals below  in countless movies,  the story of how he came to claim the throne of the gods, is chock full of  Freudian overtones.   Zeus was the youngest child of Rhea and Cronus, then ruler of Olympus. Due to a prophecy  from his own father, Uranus (who Cronos had overthrown as ruler) that he would be usurped by one of his offspring, he devoured his five children.  Rhea secretly gave birth to Zeus in a hidden cave, and when Cronos came to claim the newborn, Rhea handed him a stone wrapped in a blanket, which Cronos quickly swallowed.  When Zeus was a young man, he confronted Cronos and emptied the contents of his father’s stomach, freeing his five older siblings, including Hades and Poseidon. Medusa Known as one third of the Gorgon sisters, Medusa is one of the most feared and reviled monsters in Greek mythology. While we know her fearsome appearance was a curse from the gods, the question is, did the punishment fit the crime?  In some accounts, Medusa was a beautiful maiden  punished by the goddess Athena for having sex with Poseidon in one of her temples. Other stories claim Medusa was raped by the sea god and even though she asked for mercy, was transformed into the snake-haired monster, regardless. The Odyssey Shocking that one of the most epic tales in Greek mythology has never made it to the big screen. While there have been two TV miniseries, Odysseus’ tale of loss and perseverance has yet to fall into the hands of an A-list director.  Odysseus is credited with coming up with the genius idea of the Trojan Horse, which helped to bring the war against Troy to a glorious end. The character did get some shine, portrayed by Sean Bean in 2004′s Troy . Bean is one of Hollywood’s underrated actors, as witnessed by his terrific turns in Lord of The Rings and “Game of Thrones.”  Playing a king is clearly in his acting DNA–let’s give him a project worthy of his talents. Medea No, not to be confused with the gun-toting, weed smoking character from Tyler Perry plays and movies. Medea probably has the distinction of being the most tragic female character in Greek mythology.  The granddaughter of the sun god Helios, Medea fell in love with Jason (yes of the Argonauts).  In exchange for helping Jason get the Golden Fleece, Medea made Jason promise that he would take her away and marry her.  When the time came for them to escape, Medea distracted her father by killing her brother, dismembering his body and scattering his parts throughout the country so her father would have to stop and retrieve them for proper burial.  Jason kept his part of the bargain by marrying Medea and they had two sons together. Unfortunately the course of true love never runs smooth–when Jason dumped Medea for another woman, she killed her own children, and escaped in a chariot driven by dragons, sent courtesy of her grandfather.  Medea gives new meaning to the saying, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
