Admit it: you've been had at some point in the past, haven't you? You thought what you were watching on reality television was 100% real, only to later learn the devastating truth. We've all been there. And now we can all be here: relive the most shocking reality TV show hoaxes in history below… 1. Dance Moms We’ll just let Maddie Ziegler, arguably the show’s top performer, lay it right out for you, courtesy of an interview with USA Today: “The producers set it up to make us all yell at each other. You know how I said that moms do fight? The moms have a fake fight sometimes. Afterward they just start talking and laugh about it.” Host Abby Lee Miller really does suck, however. that’s not fake. 2. House Hunters Bobi Jensen blogged in 2012, on a site titled “Hooked on Houses,” that her experience on House Hunter was totally contrived. Turns out, the couple had selected its home prior to appearing on the show and producers even changed Jensen’s story over why she was moving. 3. Breaking Amish Can we change the title of this TLC series to “Having Already Broken Amish?” After the very first episode aired, it came out that most participants had already left their Amish family for the bright lights of the big city. 4. Storage Wars Dave Hester, a prominent presence on A&E’s Storage Wars, left production and sued the network over the phony aspects of the show. He said producers loaded units up with items to give each episode an artificial angle and that they even funneled money to teams to keep each episode’s bidding competitive. 5. Ghost Adventures Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin was fired in 2014 after he stopped by the podcast Are We Alone and explained how the network staged reactions, sound effects and other aspects of the program. He said it was “sickening” that he was part of such a “fraud.” 6. Congressman Steals Pope’s Water Glass It’s all fun and games when we laugh it up about how insane Beyonce fans are, but it’s nothing compared to Pope Francis’ fanatics , apparently. One disgusting a** congressman stole the crown for craziest stan when he stole the Pope’s water glass which was already half-filled with His Holiness’ backwash. As weird as stealing the Pope’s water glass is already, what Rep. Bob Brady (D-Pa.) did after swiping it is where things got even creepier. Per USA Today : As Pope Francis left the chamber after addressing Congress yesterday, legislators crowded around him, hoping to get a moment with the leader of the Catholic Church. But one man wasn’t among them. That’s because Rep. Bob Brady of Philadelphia was too busy swiping the pope’s water glass, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. Brady was spotted carefully using two fingers to lift the pope’s glass from the podium and carry it back to his office, where he, his wife, and two staffers sipped from it. “How many people do you know that drank out of the same glass as the pope?” Brady asks the Daily News. After letting another congressman and his family dip their fingers in the glass, Brady put the remaining water into a bottle to use to bless his grandchildren later. “The congressman is a Catholic and has immense respect for the Holy Father,” his chief of staff tells ABC News. If the phrase “thou shalt not steal” is running through your head, don’t worry: Brady tells the Washington Post he’s asked the appropriate House officials for a bill so he can pay for the glass. It will eventually go in a cabinet in his home—next to the water glass used by President Obama at his 2008 inauguration. He swiped that one, too. (The pope’s tiny car is making a big impression.) He’s nasty as hell and dumb AF if he thinks he’s now blessed after dipping his germy fingers in that glass and drinking afterwards. Black Immigrants Make More Money Than Native Black Americans New research by Nielsen has found that the median household income for foreign-born blacks is 30% higher than that for blacks born in the USA. According to Black Enterprise , Figures show that the number of black immigrants in the U.S. has more than doubled since 1980, to a record 3.8 million. By 2060, 1 out of every 6 black people in the United States will be immigrants. Blacks from Nigeria and Ethiopia make up a good chunk of of the recent growth, while the Caribbean population accounts for nearly 50% of all blacks — majority from Jamaica. But why are foreign born blacks earning so much more? Andrew McCaskill, senior vice president of global communications at Nielsen, thinks it has a lot to do with the motives that bring them to the US and the communities they form once here. “A lot of the African…immigrants are coming specifically to get an education in the States. High numbers are college-educated, and not only have college degrees, but also masters. They’re creating jobs in their communities, they’re buying products from their entrepreneurs. There typically is a culture of recycling dollars, which contributes greatly to the rising fortunes.” However, McCaskill notes that the economic landscape for U.S.-born blacks as well — Nielsen also recently found that income growth rates in black households surpass those for almost all other groups. He hopes that this will help African-American communities realize the power their dollars truly have. “When black consumers see how much power they have, it will change the way African Americans look at themselves, and see how much [of a] power they have become economically. They have the power to drive the products and services that come into their lives and come into their communities.” Interesting, right??? We clearly need to focus on keeping our money in our communities…

Via USA Today : With all the sincerity Simone Biles can muster, she explains that really and truly the competition she has is with herself. The dominant gymnast, now the three-time defending U.S. champion, is trying to best the routines from her last competition, from her last day in the gym. It’s not out of conceit – far from it. Aimee Boorman, her lifelong coach, says Biles sometimes struggles with confidence. But rather, Biles’ biggest challenge looks back at her in the mirror. “It’s truly I want to be the best version of me,” she said. “I just want to go out there and I just want to be Simone.” Part of that might be by default because, quite simply, no other American is in her league right now. Biles won her third consecutive U.S. Championship at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, this time by nearly five points – a whopping margin in a sport where medals are decided by tenths of points and not whole ones. Her win made her the first American woman to with three consecutive national titles since Kim Zmeskal in 1990-92. After an uncharacteristically shaky performance on the first day of competition Thursday, one that included a bobble on beam and a surprising fall on floor, Biles posted a 63.000 on Saturday for the single highest competition score of her career. The two-time defending world champion called it the best performance of her life. She posted a 124.100 two-day, event score that put her 4.95 points ahead of second-place finisher Maggie Nichols. Aly Raisman (118.550), Bailie Key (118.350) and Gabby Douglas (117.950) and finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. “It’s interesting – she doesn’t really see herself as being amazing,” Boorman said. “She just sees herself as a gymnast and she puts other people up on a pedestal and she’s not one of the people she puts on a pedestal.” With a 1.4-point lead coming into the night, Biles improved her scores on three events on Saturday. That included nearly a point improvement on her beam score.
