Namely swooning over Damon and Elena as they trade “I love yous” and wishing that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were still together in real life. Oh well. We’ll always have TVD. Also, we see Stefan (or his mysterious Shadow Self) putting the moves on newly-humanized Katherine, and Jeremy battling an unknown enemy. I’ve never heard of Phoebe Tonkin before, but since she was invited to the CW, CBS and Showtime 2013 Summer TCA Party, I’m going to assume she’s famous. Or at least on TV. If there’s one thing we learned from The Hunger Games stars at this weekend’s Comic-Con panel, it’s that the new Catching Fire trailer looks dope! It’s there’s a second thing, it’s that Jennifer Lawrence is a glamorous individual. Or not. J-Law and co-star Josh Hutcherson relayed a story to the enormous crowd in San Diego that offered quite a contrast to the officially sanctioned new footage. “Oh my god, we should’ve brought that clip with the snot,” she exclaimed when asked a question about how hot the kissing scenes in the new film are. “In the resuscitation there was a kiss and there was slobber, and the slobber sort of got connected to my face,” Hutcherson explained. “It will be very hot.” Sounds it! “I’ll put it on YouTube or something,” Lawrence said. “You gotta see it. There’s all this snot coming out of my nose, and when I go to kiss Josh, it connects with his mouth.” Lovely. The long-running CW hit Supernatural is reportedly working on a spinoff. Today at Comic-Con, executive producer Bob Singer said that a backdoor pilot is being developed, though Warner Bros. and The CW have not confirmed this. Reportedly, the show will introduce a new character at some point in Season 9 who would then anchor the Supernatural spinoff , should it move forward. It’s a formula that the network is very familiar with at this point. The CW will soon debut a Vampire Diaries spinoff, The Originals , having aired a “backdoor pilot” in an April episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 4. Supernatural, starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles and an underrated staple of the network lineup since 2005, kicks off its ninth season this fall.

A gunman went on a shooting spree in central Texas early yesterday morning, authorities now confirm, leaving five people injured and one dead before being killed himself in a shootout with police. One of the wounded was a Concho County sheriff. The unnamed 23-year North Carolina resident was tracked by nine state and local agencies across two counties for nearly two hours, opening fire from his pickup truck and hitting random cars along the way. He was eventually killed along a highway north of Eden by a state trooper and a game warden. Upon approaching his corpse, law enforcement officials noted that he was armed an assault-style rifle, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. No other details were released, but investigators say only they are reviewing “multiple crime scenes.”

Caleb McGillvary, a.k.a. Kai the Hitchhiker , has officially gone from homeless drifter to Internet folk hero to murder suspect in a matter of three months. He was arrested last night in Philadelphia and charged with homicide. McGillvary, 24, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Terminal and charged in the murder last Sunday of Joseph Galfy Jr., officials confirm. Galfy, 73, an attorney, was found dead in his Clark, N.J., home on Monday. The cause of death was blunt-force trauma, and the prime suspect is Kai. McGillvary claimed on Facebook Tuesday that he woke up “in a stranger’s house” and had been drugged and raped, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. “I believe everyone is a little safer with this person off the streets,” prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow said in a statement after the arrest was made. McGillvary reportedly cut his famous long hair and got a face tattoo in recent days, apparently in an effort to avoid detection, according to law enforcement. Kai the Hitchhiker Interview In February, Kai the Hitchhiker became an viral sensation after he used the blunt end of a hatchet to thwart an attack on a utility worker in California. A profanity-laced video he gave to a local TV news station describing the incident got millions of views and earned him a trip to Jimmy Kimmel Live. The televangelist appeared on The 700 Club Wednesday and responded to a viewer’s question about how to forgive a cheating husband by initially telling her to focus on the man’s positive traits. “Does he provide a home for you to live in? Does he provide food for you to eat?” Robertson asked. “Is he handsome?” Pat Robertson Cheating Advice: Suck It Up! Robertson – who shrugged off David Petraeus’ affair with Paula Broadwell because the latter is attractive – then caused a real firestorm with his closing remarks: “Males have a tendency to wander a little bit, and what you want to do it make the home so wonderful that he doesn’t want to wander.” In response to severe backlash, from other Christian leaders and the Internet as a whole, the network has released the following statement: “As a first step in the process, Dr. Robertson stated that she should stop dwelling on the cheating.
