As you’ve surely seen countless times, Google’s auto-complete feature fills in what it thinks you might be searching for when you start to type a query. Most of the time, especially if you enter more than 2-3 words, this can be fast, helpful and surprisingly accurate. Sometimes, though, it’s just hilarious. Take this example. When you simply type “Is”, the search engine suggests five apparently common searches, and five great questions of our time: Behold, a snapshot into the mind of America’s search engine subconscious. Snooki , pneumonia contagiousness and Twitter crashing round out this amazing top five. Twitter really does go down a lot for a site of its stature. Russell Brand is fairly zen about his divorce from Katy Perry. In an interview with the Lorraine show on the UK’s ITV1 while doing publicity rounds for Rock of Ages , the British funnyman offered up a rather sanguine view. “Well, it did work out in a way because you are married for some time, and that’s really good, and then you’re not married, and that’s really good,” he said. Right??!? Profound yet simple. Best spin on a divorce ever! The 37-year-old Brand and the 27-year-old Perry swapped vows in October 2010 in a lavish ceremony in India only to see their marriage unravel in 14 months. While divorce is never easy, he’s come to terms with it. “You just have to have acceptance of things . She is a person I love, but now this is a new time. I suppose divorce is difficult, isn’t it, because of the admin! There’s a lot of admin!” Seriously. On a different level of love, Brand gushed over … Alec Baldwin. “He’s like sort of a big powerful, hairy, sexy uncle,” he said of his Rock of Ages co-star. “Which in the wrong circumstances could be a terrible thing.” “But in the circumstances that I found myself in, it was really lovely. Ian Somerhalder is not only interested in the role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey, he’s progressed to lobbying for it … and recruiting writers. The Vampire Diaries star, 33, has made it clear that he’s more than game to turn the controversial novel into an even more controversial movie. Now he’s waging a Twitter campaign of sorts, beginning with writing to Bret Easton Ellis, who he apparently wants to write the script: “Id so love to be Christian Grey w/you & Angelina Jolie. Ive only waited 10 years to do a movie w/u. Im grown up now-no worries.” Ellis ( American Psycho, The Rules of Attraction ) has also been angling to bring the S&M saga of Mr. Grey and Anastasia Steele to the big screen. He wrote to Ian: “I’m glad you’re as excited by the prospect of Fifty Shades of Grey as I am. (though I’ve heard that Angelina is not involved…)” Yes, despite rumors that Angelina Jolie will direct , that’s not happening. Still, Bret and Ian? A formidable pair no doubt. Ellis previously named Alex Pettyfer as his Mr. Grey of choice, but says he might reconsider. “Rereading Fifty Shades of Grey: it’s hard for me to think of Ian Somerhalder as Christian G. because I’ve known him personally for so long.” “I know Ian Somerhalder and how kinky he can be and yes, he’s probably Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, and he will go all-out for it.” “I’ll call Ian tomorrow for Fifty Shades of Grey …I get it, I get it.” We’re glad you get it Bret … now do it. Remember Danielle Staub? No? That pretty much sums up the former reality star’s financial woes. The ex- Real Housewives of New Jersey star – who once bragged about her Black American Express Card- has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, ironically listing American Express as one of her 35 creditors. Staub reportedly owes between $500,000 and $1,000,000, the same amount listed as her assets, according to her court petition. Since exiting the Bravo franchise, Danielle has unsuccessfully tried to capitalize on her fame, from charging money to speak to idiots on the phone to stripping at Scores in New York City. It’s shocking no one turned out to pay money for the latter, isn’t it? Other creditors listed on the bankruptcy petition include: the Internal Revenue Service, the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation, PSE&G and nine law firms, along with the Township of Wayne, where Staub resided during her stint on the show. Lucy Hale stars on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars , but she’s perfectly honest about coveting the lead role in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie . The pretty, little star is a big fan of the best-selling book and admits she can see herself as Anastasia Steele in the film, which has yet to be cast. “I just finished the first book. I’m speechless,” she said at the MTV Movie Awards. “I think every girl on the carpet wants to play [Anastasia Steele].” “That would be freaking awesome,” says the actress, who turns 23 next week. “I’m really curious to see how they’re going to turn it into a film.” As are we. Not only does it involve heavy does of risque sex (think bondage, S&M, all that good stuff), the dialogue is absolutely beyond terrible. As for a dream Fifty Shades of Grey co-star? He’s been talked about plenty for the part. “Someone sexy but approachable… Looks-wise, [Ian Somerhalder] is a good one.” Plenty of fans probably agree with her on that selection, and The Vampire Diaries star himself has expressed interest in the role when asked. A swarm of celebs including cast members turned out Monday night for the New York premiere of Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener starrer, Peace, Love & Misunderstanding at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). The event, which benefited The Women’s Media Center, held its post-screening bash at the Royalton Hotel in Midtown. The party didn’t take a cue from the film’s hippie-vibe, but who needs bohemian when there’s champagne and sliders to guzzle! Along with Fonda and Keener, fellow cast members Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chace Crawford, NatWolff, Marissa O’Donnell and Maddie Corman joined in for the party hosted by Forevermark and The Wall Street Journal. Directed by Driving Miss Daisy director Bruce Beresford, the film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall (followed by a U.S. debut at the Woodstock Film Festival – natch!) follows Manhattan lawyer Diane (Keener) who drives her teenage son Jake (Nat Wolff) and adult daughter Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen) to visit their Woodstock-bound hippie grandmother Grace (Fonda), who the kids have never met. Grace stages protests, smokes and sells dope, but their weekend getaway morphs into a summer adventure of romance, music and more. “It was amazing to have such veteran actors like Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener working alongside newcomers [at the time] Nat Wolff and Elizabeth Olsen,” Peace producer Claude Dal Farra told ML. “This was actually the first movie-set for Elizabeth and Nat.” Others at the party Monday included Robin Morgan, GloriaSteinem, Carol Alt, Ashleigh Banfield, Joshua Bell, Jewelle Bickford, Sandy Brant, Julie Burton, Ron Claiborne, Jamie Colby, Alan Cox ( The Dictator ), Rebecca Dayan ( Celeste & Jesse Forever ), Aleksa Palladino ( Boardwalk Empire ), Savanna Wise ( Smash ) and Casper Zafer ( The Vampire Diaries ). ‘Teen Wolf’ star Tyler Hoechlin also joins ‘After Hours’ Actors Anonymous group, before MTV Movie Awards. I’m Joe Manganiello, and I’m obsessed with playing werewolves.” And thus starts our special MTV Movie Awards -edition “After Hours,” starring some of our favorite stars from “True Blood,” “The Vampire Diaries” and “Teen Wolf.” We always knew there was something a little funny about the actors who love playing supernatural beings over and over and over again, but we didn’t realize how deep the addiction ran. Fortunately, MTV News’ Josh Horowitz put together a very official (and certainly not made-up) support group called Actors Anonymous to help them get through these trying times in their lives. For Manganiello, his obsession manifests in his “monster” coming out. And yes, he is referring to his penis. “The Vampire Diaries” star Candice Accola can “totally relate,” as she recently went to an audition for a Zac Efron romantic comedy wearing some fangs and a cape. But it’s “True Blood” actress Kristin Bauer who has us the most worried. “Why can’t I drink human blood?” she asked indignantly. “Who says that’s so ‘wrong’?” “I love blood,” Manganiello agreed. “It’s good with scotch,” “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Hoechlin added. We’re pretty sure these stars should have a support group just for the belief that there’s not “one thing wrong” with drinking blood. Unfortunately, we don’t provide those services here at MTV, so we’ll just have to let them run wild. If you’ve noticed that many actors who play werewolves tend to get very, very hairy during filming, apparently it just comes with the territory. Hoechlin and Manganiello both admitted to having the same affliction. Maybe Brad Pitt has been preparing for a werewolf role for a while now? The Movie Awards are going to be “After Hours” mania, so make sure you stay tuned to the for some fun surprises.
