Andrew Koenig Reported Missing

Actor Andrew Koenig, who starred on Growing Pains back in the day, has been reported missing, the Vancouver Police say. He has not been seen in a week. Koenig, who played Mike Seaver’s ( Kirk Cameron ) pal Boner, was supposed to be on a flight back to the United States on February 16, but did not check in. He was reportedly last seen a week ago. His parents have described their son as “suffering from depression” and ” not doing good ” in the last few weeks. Judy and Walter Koenig (who played Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek series) say they last heard from Andrew February 9. They also say his cell phone is off. We’re hoping for the safe return of Andrew Koenig. The last time his phone received a text was February 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was last seen at a bakery in the Stanley Park area of Vancouver. Lance Miccio, who worked with him on several projects, reached out to him earlier this month. Koening passed, saying he was “not going to work anymore.” Right around that time, Miccio says Andrew Koenig (who he also said was depressed) dropped off a bag of Miccio’s stuff. Miccio hasn’t spoken to him since. The family is asking that anyone with information immediately contact Detective Raymond Payette of the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-2534.

All-American Rejects: ‘It’s Ironic’ Playing Winter Olympics In Canada

‘Did anyone really know what our band name was?’ frontman Tyson Ritter jokes about performing at opening medal ceremony. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway All-American Rejects and Sway Photo: MTV News The All-American Rejects are having too much fun at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The Midwestern band are enjoying the fact that a collective with their moniker would be asked to perform — let alone appear — at the game’s first medal ceremony . According to frontman Tyson Ritter, this opportunity is as unique as they come. “[The organizers said], ‘We wanted a band that rules live,’ ” Ritter told MTV News, joking about their selection. “I think it’s ironic that the All-American Rejects are opening the medal ceremony … that’s so great. Did anyone really know what our band name was? In Canada, it’s OK — but if this was Salt Lake City a few years ago, our name wouldn’t even be on the list.” But the alt-rockers are here and they impressed last Saturday (February 13) with a medley of their hits, including “When the World Comes Down” and “Move Along.” The Rejects were the first musical act to perform since the games started — their performance capped off the medal presentations for the ski jumping and women’s biathlon events. Usher, British singer Estelle and the Roots are among the many acts slated to take the stage during the various medal ceremonies. While north of the border, the members of AAR stared in awe at the athletes. Ritter, with his famously lanky frame, confessed that the Olympic competitors leave him feeling less than buff. “Dude, that’s why we gotta keep wearing layers,” he explained. “As long as we wear layers no one can tell how big or small you are — [otherwise] it’s like, ‘Man, that dude looks like a flamingo.’ ” What do you think of All-American Rejects’ performance? Who do you look forward to seeing take the stage next at the Winter Olympics? Let us know in the comments below, or upload a video to Your.MTV.com ! Olympic Skier Will Brandenburg Gushes Over ‘Girl-Next-Door’ Taylor Swift

‘I think me and Taylor could have a really good time,’ he tells MTV News. By Hillary Crosley Photo: MTV News There might be a Taylor Swift backlash happening online after her performance and wins at the Grammys, but Winter Olympics skier Will Brandenburg is definitely on Team Taylor. The Spokane, Washington, native, along with fellow skier and gold medalist Ted Ligety, chatted with MTV News on Saturday about competing for the United States and exactly what a “super combine” is. “I do the super combine [event, which is] one run of downhill, the fastest event in skiing, and one run of the slowest event in skiing, so it’s two different ends of the spectrum,” Bradenburg explained. “[We go] 80, 90, 95 miles per hour. We’re pretty comfortable on our skis. We’ve been doing it since we were little, so when you’re going that fast, you don’t know you’re going that fast. Feels like you’re going 35 miles per hour in your pickup truck. It winds up like, ‘I was just clocked at 83!’ ” But then the conversation quickly turned to what the two listened to in preparation for their competitions, and in addition to Kings of Leon, Ligety blurted out that Brandenburg really loved Taylor Swift. “He’s actually a really big Taylor Swift fan,” Ligety revealed. “She’s just got that girl-next-door attitude. I like it, I like it a lot,” Brandenburg said in defense of his crush. “I think me and Taylor could have a really good time. I was just thinking [about] a nice little dinner and a movie and a date, so if you’re out there, Taylor, look me up. Will you be my valentine?” Brandenburg, 23, almost didn’t compete in this year’s Winter Olympics after sustaining a knee injury early last year following a bone bruise. But instead of bowing out, Brandenburg worked out at the gym every day during the summer to repair his body. “It was tough. I couldn’t run or jump until July,” Brandenburg told Spokane’s Spokesman-Review . “I’ve never put more into it in my life, trying to get healthy, because I wasn’t just trying to get to the Olympics. I was trying to continue my career in ski racing.” MTV News is on the ground in Vancouver all week, so stay tuned for more coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
