By Joel Hanek Andrew Koenig Photo: IMDB While the search for missing actor Andrew Koenig continues, the Vancouver Police Department remains hopeful that the actor is alive. According to a recent report by RadarOnline.com , police have tracked electronic information, such as usage of his ATM card and phone, leading them to believe that the 41-year-old Koenig is in Vancouver area. Constable Tim Fanning told the site that this indicates “Andrew is just lying low in Vancouver.” Koenig, best known for his role as Richard “Boner” Stabone on the hit series “Growing Pains” — reportedly disappeared after visiting friends on February 14. But this week, multiple reported sightings of Koenig have Vancouver Police feeling “hopeful that he is still alive.” “The evidence we have leads us to the fact that he is still in the Vancouver area,” Fanning told Radar. “We are rehashing the evidence to see if there is anything we have missed.” The actor’s family — including his father, “Star Trek” alum Walter Koenig — told People magazine that they were concerned when he did not arrive in California on February 16, as he had previously scheduled to meet friends upon arrival. “Andrew was suffering from depression at the time of his disappearance,” said a statement from the family. Fellow “Growing Pains” star Kirk Cameron recently released a statement pleading for Koening to contact him. “I am praying for his family during this time of distress and for his safe return,” he said. “Andrew, if you’re reading this, please call me.”

A tale of two Andrew Koenigs

Do you know who Andrew Koenig is? Maybe not by name, but if you've ever watched an episode of Growing Pains, then chances are you are familiar with his claim to fame. Koenig played Mike Seaver's (Kirk Cameron) best friend “Boner” on the show, and in an unfortunate turn of events Koenig has been missing since a trip to visit friends in Vancouver on February 14th. It's been reported that the actor was suffering from depression, and several of the actor's friends have been posting about their concern via Facebook and Twitter. I discovered this while monitoring Google Trends. I noticed that “growing pains actor missing” was trending, alongside several mentions of Andrew Koenig. While news of his disappearance is concerning, it did lead me to another Andrew Koenig, with an absolutely remarkable story of his own. Around the same time Koenig the actor was last seen by friends in Vancouver, another Andrew Koenig experienced a stroke of luck nearly unheard of in his line of work. Koenig is actually Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig in the Marines, and more specifically he's a sniper fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. On Monday February 15th, Lance Cpl. Koenig was shot in the helmet by an insurgent Taliban sniper while defending an outpost near Marjah. Luckily for him, the bullet bounced right off of his helmet, and he walked away unscathed. It's one of those things that is seemingly unbelievable, but it happened. Check out his remarkable story

Brooke Mueller is "Doing Well," Insider Says

While rumors continue to swirl regarding the reasons why Brooke Mueller is in a rehab facility in Malibu (some sources cite an addiction to crack), the important thing is this, a friend says: “Brooke is doing very well.” After spending time in a hospital that dealt specifically with dangerous infections, Mueller checked into the Canyon treatment center earlier this month. “She’s been committed to getting herself in shape by getting healthy again and going to a rehab to continue her regimen with her sobriety,” the source told E! News. While she works on her marriage to Charlie Sheen, Brooke’s true motivation for recovery is her children, 11-month-old sons, Max and Bob. Said the insider: “She sees her children almost every day, and she’s an extraordinary mom to them… She’s really determined to get her life back on track and concentrate on being a great mom.” Sheen is due back in a Colorado court on March 15 to face a felony charge of menacing . Mueller will be close to finished with her 30-day stay at that point, but it’s unknown if she’ll be by his side.

He supposedly cheated to get her, and now Ryan Phillippe may have cheated and lost her. After a three-year relationship that started when the actor cheated on wife Reese Witherspoon with Abbie Cornish, the latter has finally come to her senses and dumped Phillippe. “Abbie ended the relationship with Ryan and she moved out of their home,” her rep told People . The break-up takes place after months of celebrity gossip rumors made Phillippe sound like the Tiger Woods of acting, minus the talent. He’s been spotted with other women at nightclubs around the globe. Asked about the cause of the split, Cornish’s rep took the high road and said: “No comment.” Cornish has been in Vancouver for the last seven months shooting a movie whose title could well sum up the demise of her relationship: Sucker Punch .

Depressed Growing Pains Star Andrew Koenig Vanishes in Vancouver

The parents of Andrew Koenig —who played Growing Pains neighbor Boner Stabone—say their son was ” suffering from depression ” at the time of his disappearance. Last seen on Valentine’s Day, the star was in Vancouver. Koenig—who hails from a Hollywood family (his father was Chekov in Star Trek )—was last seen February 14, when he stayed at the home of Vancouver burlesque star Jenny Magenta , who has since updated her MySpace status to “anxious” and tweeted about suicidal friends . Koenig was scheduled to return to the U.S. on February 16 . On that day, his phone received a text message (the content of which has not been made public) and has since been turned off. The Associated Press reports that a police statement said Koenig “has recently been despondent and his family and friends are concerned for his well-being.” Previously, Koenig made Olympics-related headlines when he protested China’s human rights violations during the Beijing Summer Olympics. This probably has nothing to do with the current situation, but in the face of frightening uncertainty, clinging to the few facts we do have seldom hurts. Vancouver’s Police Department has a tipline set up at 604-717-2534. Scotty Lago Leaves Vancouver Olympics After Racy Photo Controversy

Snowboarder Scotty Lago bolted the Winter Olympics after a racy photo surfaced of him inviting girls to kiss his bronze medal. While it hung around his waist. The third-place finisher in the men’s halfpipe snowboarding event voluntarily left after the risque photos of a woman kissing and biting his … medal surfaced. The 22-year-old free spirit was snapped with his bronze medal around his waist and the hardware hung over his groin area on a public street late Thursday. Pretty rad display all around. A second shot showed a woman biting the medal, but this time Scotty Lago held it up by the logo on his Team USA T-shirt. Hey, a dude’s gotta celebrate . KISS OFF: Snowboarder Scotty Lago is in hot water with the U.S. Olympic Committee and Snowboard Association after inviting the ladies to kiss deez bronze medalz . In response to the controversy, Lago apologized to the U.S. Olympic Committee and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, which required its athletes to attend a special program prior to the games to avoid potential PR nightmares. That was time well spent! Association President and CEO Bill Marolt said: “Scotty Lago is a great athlete, but with that talent comes a responsibility of proper conduct, and his involvement in this situation is not acceptable.” “With that said, Scotty realizes that his conduct was inappropriate. He has formally apologized and also made a decision to leave Vancouver today.” Reports say his “voluntary” departure was prompted by an ultimatum from the U.S. Olympic Committee: say you’re sorry and go or we kick you out. No further action against the Seabrook, N.H. native appears likely. In other Olympics news, how about those Lindsey Vonn photos ?! Hot damn!
